The biggest fire the park has ever seen.

The wailing of the firefighters' truck was heard at distance, getting nearer every second for both joy of Ryan and despair of Fred. What had they just did?

They were now separated, by Ryan's idea. To cover more ground. Ryan had chosen Emery while leaving Jon and Fred together. Fred hadn't talked yet, still surprised by his friend's attitude. Jon used to be adventurous, but what they did wasn't that, and Fred was sure it was at least slightly criminal.

Even already walking away for the last half an hour, they could still spot the rising smoke, now certainly being already diminishing due to the firefighters' wailing sudden silence.

Jon was the first to speak, as he strode decisively across the low weaving grass, on the soft soil near the river.

"Are you mad at me, Fred?" Jon never knew how to approach a subject softly. He had always been blunt, and that, even if it wasn't helpful during most of the time, was one of the qualities Fred would point out in his friend, if asked to do so.

"Why should I be?" Fred was being honest, a tiny part of him, one he would not be proud of, was able to understand, even agree with burning bridges in order to win. "We voted for it,... kinda. So, I cannot comply. It was a way, could be others, but yet, it was harmless, right?"

"I feel good to know... Look! " Jon darted toward a bush, not an impressive or even distinct one, but from among its purple flowers, Jon removed an item: red and blue, it appeared to be a garden gnome little more than a finger's big. "It has a paper attached: You have successfully gathered another clue. Keep with the good work. Sometimes the answers do not come alone and seekers of beauty always look upwards, when they are lucky. What? Is this supposed to make any sense , Fred?"

"Ornithology...... "

"What? "

" 'seekers of beauty always look upwards'. Ornithologists study birds, the tower is for birdwatchers. We must hurry, Jon. 'the answers do not come alone'. There is more than a clue at the tower."

"I really don't know how you do it, Fred, you must be any kind of a genius. We go then, to the tower." There was no jealousy at his voice, but true compliment, and not for the first time. Their partnership would be successful, even if it wasn't morally right or acceptable the way of accomplishing it.

They ran towards the tower unaware that, on the other side of the river, two figures watched them in silence, crossing the river by foot, as soon as they disappeared behind the willows.

"I found one! " Announced proudly Emery running towards Ryan.

"What's that? "

"Well... it's a stag, a toy, I think. It has a paper attached. You have successfully gathered another clue. Keep with the good work. Golden or amberly, sweet and sticky, careful because, it might get stingy. It's some sort of riddle."

"I hate riddles."

"Honeybees!"

"What?!" The surprise in his face was nearly immediate, after a quick shiver that one who'd dare, would say it was fear.

"We have to find honeybees! " Emery was pretty proud of herself.

"Awesome... "
