Alphonse Bertillion invented the Bertillion System. This system was designed to measure people to determine whether they are the criminal or not.

The Bertillion System used measurements of billions of people. This proved difficult when two people had similar measurements. This is why DNA and fingerprinting are used today to identify a suspect.
