"Clary, we can't panic." Jace began to say, as Clary was definitely panicking.

"He's a psychopath." Clary busts, "He's capable of anything."

"Simon is innocent, in all of this." Clary continues, "The only reason Valentine took him captive is because I care about him."

Luke's footsteps approached us, "Hey, all the prisoners are either dead or gone. No sign of Cleophas."

"Hey, it's gonna be okay." Jace hugs Clary when another distressed look crosses her face.

"Jace-" I looked at him, "Where's Alec?"

Jace pulls away from Clary, "He went to the Institute to get Shadowhunters to find you."

"Aldertree wouldn't allow that." I cross my arms, then the thought of Aldertree supplying Yin fen to Isabelle crosses my mind.

Then, Clary's phone rings, Simon's contact on the screen, saying that he wanted to video call.

Luke nods at her slowly, "Answer it, Clary."

"No-" Clary immediately said when we all peered over her shoulder and stared the the screen when she answered the call, Simon tied up, duck tape on his mouth.

"Hello, Clarissa." Valentine crouched in front of the screen, "Wish we were chatting under more civilized circumstances, but I'm afraid I've run out of options."

Clary's eyes burned with tears, "Let Simon go."

"Absolutely." Valentine agreed, "Just as soon as you come back to the Institute. I need you to activate the sword for me."

Clary shook her head, "That is never going to happen."

"Oh, but I think it will." Valentine was confident, "Because if you don't show up within the hour-"

"Your vampire boyfriend here is gonna die a death I wouldn't wish upon anyone." Valentine looked back at Simon, then at the screen, "And if you still fail to comply, I'm going after your older sister's precious Lightwood next."

Then, the called ended.

My eyes were wide, as I instantly stepped away and fished out my phone, dialing Alec's number.

As Luke and Clary speak amongst themselves as Clary wanted to go after Simon, Luke denying, Jace comes over to me as I repeatedly dial Alec's number as it went to voicemail every single time.

Jace's eyes scan my expression, "Who're you calling?"

"Alec." I huff, staring at my phone screen as I had already called him seventeen times, "Jace, he's not answering-"

"I'm sure it'll be fine-" Jace inhales sharply but I could tell he was fearing for his parabatai also.

"What if he's hurt? What if the Circle Members already got to him- he's not answering." My eyes began pooling with tears of worry, "Jace, I swear if something happens to Alec-"

"Hey, hey, hey-" Jace pulled me into his chest, hugging me, "It's okay- it's gonna be okay."

I held onto him tightly, before pulling away, walking over to Luke and Clary, Jace right behind me, "Alec's not picking up."

Jace nods, "Let's move."

"Valentine is gonna wish he never laid a hand on Simon." Clary began walking away, "I'll make sure of it-"

"Whoa, whoa, whoa!" Luke stops her, "You're not going anywhere near that Institute."

"We're taking you to Magnus." Luke looks between Jace and I as we nodded in agreement, "He can protect you."

"No, I don't need to be protected." Clary shot back, "I need to save Simon."

"Okay- if you go to the Institute, you're not going to be able to save Simon, when you're being used to activate the Soul Sword." I inhale sharply, "And on top of that- the Downworld knows that you're the key to activating that sword."

Luke nods, "Zee's right, they want you dead."

Jace steps up, "I can save Simon."

"Doesn't work that way." Clary huffs, "If I'm not the one who shows up, Valentine is gonna kill him."

"Wait!" We heard a weak call, making us all running to the sound, noticing Dot hidden.

Clary's eyes were wide, "Dot?"

Dot's voice was quiet, "There's another way to destroy the sword."

-

"There you go." Magnus poured the potion in Dot's mouth, "You'll start feeling better in no time."

Dot barely smiled, "Thank you."

I cross my arms, "Dot, tell us everything you know."

"I heard Valentine briefing his men." Dot explained, "If Jace touches the sword, his grip would destroy it."

Jace blinks, "Me?"

"Why should we believe a word she says?" Luke questioned, "It's probably just another trap."

"Luke, Clary- Zee, you know me." Dot looked between us.

I shrug, "You've lied to me before."

"Because of the injections." Dot defends herself, "But, now that he has the warlock girl, he's cast me aside. I'm myself again."

Luke scoffs, "Good story, but I've heard better."

Jace mentions, "Wait, in the vision from Ithuriel, the demon that destroyed the sword had a clawed hand."

"Exactly." Clary agrees, "It has nothing to do with you."

"Perhaps I can lend some insight." Magnus cuts in, "Show me this vision."

Magnus places his hands on Jace and Clary's heads, speaking out a spell, seeing the vision for himself, backing away, "The star in the sky."

Clary nods, "Yeah, I remember."

"Angels are higher beings." Magnus began, "They communicate through metaphors."

"Morgenstern means Morning Star as in-" Magnus went in depth as he realized himself, "How are thou fallen from heaven, O, Lucifer, son of the morning."

Magnus then looks at Jace, "The vision seems to be speaking of a Demonic Morgenstern."

"Me." Jace's voice fell, "That's why Valentine wanted me under his control."

"I can derail his plan." Jace looked between all of us, "I can destroy the Soul-Sword."

Magnus exhales deeply, "And destroy yourself in the process."

"No-" I shook my head, "Absolutely not."

Clary stutters, "That's a suicide mission- no way."

"Oh, says the girl who was willing to die for the Downworld, what, yesterday?" Jace remarks, "And I mean- think about it this way- Zee is part demon blooded- If the Soul Sword is activated within her reach, she could die along the others. I need to destroy it."

"Theoretically, yes, I could die." My arms drop, "But, that isn't an excuse for you to sacrifice yourself. This isn't negotiable, Jace."

"She's right." Luke agrees with me, "It's too dangerous."

"I'm not gonna touch the sword." Jace sets it straight, "I'll just get to it before it's activated, and bring the Mortal Instrument back to the Clave, where it belongs."

I stared at him with a suspicious look, making him speak again, "Trust me."

-

"Alec-" Jace exhales in relief when he answered the phone, "Are you okay?"

"Is Zee okay?" Alec answered his question with a question, as I sat up instantly at the sound of his voice, "You found her, right?"

"Yeah- yeah, she's with me." Jace confirmed, Luke speeding up lightly as we were heading right toward the Institute.

"We're under attack." Alec told him, "Major casualties. Valentine used Madzie to take down the wards, she suffocated everyone."

Jace was quick to ask, "Where's Izzy?"

I looked away because I knew she was still with Raphael.

Alec simply and shortly replies, "She wasn't here."

"Oh, thank the Angel." Jace exhales, "Alec, he's there to use the power core instead of lightning. He's got Simon and he's threatening to kill him if Clary doesn't come and activate the sword."

Alec was firm, "You have to keep Clary away from that sword."

"Don't worry." Jace replied, "She's with Magnus. Luke, Zee and I are coming for it now."

"Just get to the power core, shut it down." Jace told him, "That way, no matter who touches the sword, it won't turn on."

Then there was a grunt, my eyes widening when I realize Alec was hit.

"Alec?" Jace calls out for her through the phone, under it hung up, "Alec!"

This, made the fear and worry in my chest rise again.

-

[ alec's pov ]

"Looks like he's already tapping the energy supply." Aldertree quietly said as I followed him slowly through the hall, "We need to get to that power core and shut it down.0

I held my blade and bow tightly, "It'll be heavily guarded."

"We'll get to it via the rooftop." Aldertree inched down the hall, "Hell if I'm gonna let that bastard destroy the entire Downworld."

I stopped, "What, suddenly you care about the Downworld?"

"I'm an officer of the Clave, sworn to protect Downworlders and mundanes alike." Aldertree faced me, his words making me roll my eyes, "I'm not the big bad wolf you think I am."

"No, you're worse." I stared at him with a look of hatred and anger, the thought only making me more upset, "Not only did you get my sister hooked on yin fen, you convinced the woman I love that as long as she was part demon, no matter how strong our feelings are, she would give into her new nature and kill me."

"I was only warning her, Alec." Aldertree stared at me, "I shared my own experience so she would understand! I warned Isabelle as well, I told her of the risks. But, she wanted to visit the Citadel and the yin fen allowed her to do that. I was doing them both a favor."

"Are you kidding me?" I immediately said, completely in disbelief at his words.

"Look, you might've helped me back there, but- don't pretend you're one of the good guys." The words seethed through my teeth, as I walked past him, heading down the hall.

-

[ zee's pov ]

"You're a cop." I huff deeply, "Can't you drive any faster?"

"You wanna drive?" Luke takes a sharp turn, making me lean and hit my head on the window.

"Yeah- actually." I sat up, "Then, I'll gladly let you arrest me for all the illegal acts I'll commit."

"Zee-" Luke looked at me through the rear mirror, "When was the last time you drove a car?"

I clear my throat, looking away, my voice low in shame, "Three years ago."

"Yeah, absolutely not." Luke took another sharp turn, not even bothering to slow down.

This makes me jerk and hit my head again, "Ow!"

"Grab onto something!" Jace looks back at me and grabs my wrists, making me grab onto the bars, "So- you won't hurt yourself over and over!"

"I can't think straight right now-" I held the bars under the head of their seats.

Jace shot me a look, "Because you keep hitting your head."

"No, because Alec could be hurt- and if he is, I don't know what I'll do." I began thinking the worst, "I swear, if Valentine gets to him-"

"Don't think that way-" Jace's hand rested over his parabatai rune, "We'll get to him, okay?"

"I know what you're going through." Luke sighs, "I had a parabatai once."

Jace exhales deeply, "When Valentine turned on you, that must've been unbearable."

"It was, I felt like my life was over." He admits, "But, over time, I got past it. Alec's gonna be okay."

"He has to be." Jace stared through the windshield, when Luke slams on the brakes, Maia stood in front of the car, "What the hell is she doing here?"

We all jump out of the car, as Maia pushes Luke against it, "You locked me up- in the dark?"

Jace had his seraph blade pointed at her, as I stared at Maia with wide eyes, "Where did you come from?"

"I was watching, waiting for my chance." Maia held onto Luke tight to make sure he didn't get any chances, "But- I couldn't wait any longer."

"Jace, put the blade away." Luke points, "This is between me and Maia."

"Are you sure?" Jace asks, "She's out of control."

"So true." Maia lets go of Luke, grabbing Jace's blade and elbowing him in the face.

"Jace!" I caught him as he fell back.

"Let go!" Maia shouts, Luke's arms around her, "Get off of me!"

"No, Maia, put this in perspective." Luke held tighter, "The fate of the entire Downworld is at stake."

"Who's lost perspective?" Maia shouts, "Who protects Shadowhunters over their own pack?"

Luke grunts when Maia breaks free of his hold, her bones cracking as she grunted, about to transform.

Luke uses his stun gun on her, as she groans, falling to the ground.

"She won't be down for long." He inhales sharply, "Help me get her in the car."

"No." Jace shook his head, "We have to get back to the Institute."

Luke shot him a look, "I can't just leave her here."

"What do we do if she wolfs out again?" I questioned, running a hand through my hair.

"That's what the stun gun's for." Luke held it up, making Jace and I agree as we put Maia in the back.

-

"Raphael, you don't have to do this." I could heard Clary's feared cry, as Jace, Luke, I ran towards them, Maia following us.

"Quick and painless." Raphael began, revealing his fangs, about to bite into her, Clary letting out a gasp.

Jace was quick and pulled Raphael back, his sword pointed toward him, "This ends now."

"Listen up!" Luke grabbed onto the two vampires that held Magnus.

I looked at Clary, "Why do I even expect you to listen?"

"You better be right about this, Luke." Maia slowly walked over, standing by me.

"Clary may be able to activate the sword, but I can destroy it." Jace said, "The angel Ithuriel confirmed that in a vision."

"Angel?" Raphael scoffed, "Impossible."

"I saw it, too." Clary admits, "He's telling the truth."

"You kill Clary, Valentine still has the sword." I held my kindjals tight, "He held an angel captive- he experimented on his daughter to achieve this- you don't think over time that lunatic will find another way to activate it?"

"Now is our chance to destroy that sword for good." Luke continued where I left off, "Why not let Jace try?"

Maia speaks up, "Why would a Shadowhunter risk his life for us?"

"Because you and Raphael are gonna tell your Downworld buddies not to lay a hand on Clary." Jace set it out straight, "That's the deal."

Raphael scoffs again, "And they'll listen to me?"

"Maybe." Jace's arm dropped to his side as he stepped closer to him, "You're the leader of the most powerful vampire clan in all of New York. They respect you."

Raphael sighs, "What exactly is your plan?"

-

I walked through the halls of the Institute with Magnus, a tight grip on my kindjals.

I turn the corner, piercing my blade into a Circle member before they could even notice me.

I look further down the hall, noticing Madzie walking down the other hall.

"Madzie." My voice went soft, my eyes following her. I broke my stare and looked at Magnus, "Go get her- I have to find Alec."

Magnus looked down at me, "Are you sure, biscuit?"

"You know me, I can handle my own, Magnus." I sigh deeply, "She's being used, Magnus- Valentine is lying to her and she's just a kid."

Magnus slowly nods, "Okay."

"I'll see you soon." I nod toward him, before heading down the other hall, turning the corner.

I slowly walked through the halls, most of them empty.

When I get closer to where the Ops Center is, three Circle members are walking right towards me.

The familiar rush runs through my body as I pierced my blade into the first member.

My eyes went black, catching them off guard as I managed to take them all down singlehandedly.

My kindjals impale into the last member, their blood splattered all over my face as I licked my bottom lip, pulling my kindjals out, that were dripping with their blood.

I crouched, my eyes going back to normal as I looked between my kindjals and three dead men on the ground.

I wiped my kindjals against their shirts, letting the blood soak up in there, before forcing myself up and walking down the hall until I heard Jace and Simon's voices.

In this moment, I wasn't so upset about my demon blood.

"Hey, you know how you can thank me?" Jace whispered to Simon, "Shut up."

I hopped up the steps and over to them, "I can hear you guys from down the hall."

"See?" Jace looks at Simon, "Shut up."

"Right-" Simon gave him a thumbs up.

"Simon-" My eyes took notice of the blood down his neck, "By the Angel-"

"I'm okay." Simon exhales, "Jace saved me."

Jace looks at me, gesturing to the blood on my face in question, Simon now taking notice of it also.

I wiped it away from my face with my sleeve, "Not mine."

"Did you find Alec?" Jace quietly asked me.

I fearfully shake my head, "I haven't found him- and it's only making me worry more."

We all went silent, until Simon points out what was going on in the Ops Center, where the sword was held, "Looks like they have the sword tapped into that power thing."

"Not for long." Jace exhales deeply, looking at the Circle members guarding the sword

I nudge Simon, my eyes glued to the blade in his hand, "You know how to use that?"

"Yeah, just point and stab, right?" Simon gestures, his blade pointed at Jace.

"Use your vamp speed." Jace shot him a look.

Simon looked at him as if he stated the obvious, "Obviously."

"As soon as we get back up, we move in." Jace told Simon and I, his back against the wall.

Then, I notice Clary being pulled to the sword by Valentine, "It might be too late for that."

"No!" Clary grunted, "Let me go!"

When Valentine pulls her after a few words were said, forcing her to reach for the sword, I quickly told Simon to take advantage of this and knock them down using his vamp speed.

As he did this, Jace and I ran over.

I helped Clary up, "You good?"

Simon had already taken down the two Circle members, as I gave him a high five for doing so good.

Then, right as we began rushing out, Jace walks past us and toward the sword.

I instantly stop, "Wait-"

Jace drops his blade and stands in front of the sword.

Clary stopped also along with Simon, "Jace, what are you doing?"

"Jace!" I stepped closer as he looked back at us, "Don't do it."

"If you touch the sword, it'll kill you." Clary shouted out the obvious, clearly not wanting to see our brother die.

"Jace, I swear to the Angel if you do this-" I took another step closer, more fear filling my chest.

But, before I could say anything else, Jace grabbed the sword, my eyes widening, "Jace!"

Jace grunts, dropping the sword, falling onto the ground with it.

Clary stares at the sword on the ground, "Why didn't that destroy the sword?"

"I don't know." Simon admits, staring in shock as well.

"Jace, are you okay?" Clary asked Jace who was on the ground, as I was on my knees by him, trying to wake him.

"You're nothing if not predictable, son." Valentine forced himself up and grabbed the sword.

As the many Downworlders began to ran in, Valentine started to smirk.

I jumped up, making a ran for Valentine as he raised the sword, "No!"

Then, there was a bright light shining from the sword, all the Downworlders screaming as I came to a halt.

My eyes were wide and I could feel myself collapse onto the ground.

When the light disappeared, I could feel the severe pain throughout my entire body.

I heard Clary and Simon whisper amongst themselves on how it was possible that he was alive.

Valentine crouched next to me, putting a strand of my hair behind my ear, "I'm sorry, Zee."

"I didn't want it to come to this- I wanted to keep you out of it." Valentine inhales sharply, before leaving me laying on the ground, "But, sacrifices must be made."

"Oh my god- no-" Clary ran over to me, falling to her knees, "No- please no-"

Valentine was gone, and all the Downworlders were dead. And I was on the ground, trying not to let out the most painful scream.

I couldn't describe the pain, but it was the worst I had ever felt.

"Young-" Simon was on Clary's side, "How am I okay?"

Jace was up also and on my other side, "No- Zee-"

I couldn't hold it in anymore, as my eyes squeezed shut, my back arching as I let out a pained scream.

"No- I didn't mean to." Jace's eyes began burning with tears, "This wasn't supposed to happen."

"Zee- please, hang in there." Clary grabbed her hand, her voice cracking, "Where's Magnus? We need to get Magnus-"

"Zee?" I heard Isabelle's weak cry, my eyes snapping open to why she was here, "She's dying-"

"No- no- move!" Alec's voice filled my ears as he moved past everyone and came to Jace's side, his eyes wide and filled with fear.

Isabelle was on her knees by me also, her grabbing me free hand, "Zee-"

Unwelcome tears of pain slipped my eyes, as I let out another scream through my teeth, the pain intensifying with every moment.

"You did this." Alec looked up at a tearful Clary, "You activated the sword?"

"I did it." Jace's voice cracked, "I thought I was destroying it, Alec-"

"Zee- stay with me, okay?" Tears were filling Isabelle's eyes as she let out small sobs, holding my hand tighter, one hand over her parabatai rune, "I need you, please don't leave me-"

"I'm so sorry-" Jace couldn't even touch me, her eyes wide and red, "I'm- so- sorry-"

"It's okay- it's okay-" I try to suppress my screams.

"Valentine-" I choked out, as I stiffen due to the pain, letting out another pained scream, "He's going to get away-"

Then, the pain became unbearable.

My eyes began closing, and no matter how many shouts of my name I heard, they fell close and I passed out.

-

My eyes slowly open, and I'm blinded by lights.

When my vision adjusts, I realize I'm in the infirmary in the Institute.

I jolt up almost right away, my eyes slightly wide in alertness, when I notice everyone scattered around my bed.

Jace was on the ground, hugging his legs, his eyes on the ground.

Alec and Isabelle both sat in chairs, worry and fear crossed over both their expressions.

Simon and Clary were on the ground also, Simon's arm around Clary as he comforted her.

When I moved, all their attention was on me.

Before I knew it, Isabelle was holding me tightly, "Thank the Angel-"

I hugged her back tightly, pulling away from her in a few moments, looking around.

"Magnus- and Madzie-" My voice came out quiet, as I noticed the IV attached to my arm, my eyes following the tube until I notice a sedated Luke asleep on the bed next to mine, "Luke-"

"Magnus and Madzie are fine." Alec softly spoke up, "Magnus took her to Catarina's before the Sword was activated."

"Luke- got hurt in the process of trying to stop Valentine from escaping with the sword." Clary filled me in, her eyes slightly puffy from crying, "He'll be okay."

"How am I alive?" I brought up the question they all knew was coming, my eyes falling onto Jace, whom looked guilty as ever.

"When the Sword was activated-" Alec trails off, "The reason you were in so much pain was because the demon part of you was slowly being diminished from your body."

Isabelle continued, "It put a lot of pressure on you and you completely collapsed- and wouldn't wake up."

"You've been getting a blood transfusion, and after this, you'll be restored to a complete Nephilim," Clary's words made my heart beat faster, "Of course, with Angel Ithuriel' blood."

"I'm no longer part demon anymore?" The words brought tears of happiness and relief in my eyes.

"No, Young." Simon softly smiled at me, "You're all good now."

I looked between them all, "And Valentine?"

"We got him." Jace spoke up for the first time, "He's locked up."

My eyes fall back onto Jace.

I reach over and grab his hand, his eyes connecting with mine.

My stare was fixed on him, "It wasn't your fault."

-

I stood on the rooftop, staring at the city.

The sun was rising, and everyone was in the aftermath of what Valentine had done.

I was mentally processing everything that had happened.

The demon blood was mixed with my blood for so long that I became part demon, and when Jace activated the Soul Sword, that demon part of me got erased and killed.

Valentine had lied and told us all that Jace had demon blood, knowing that Jace would attempt to sacrifice himself for everyone.

He tricked up and got exactly what he wanted.

The hatred I had for that man was so intense.

That man raised me.

And despite raising me, and being his daughter, he willingly let me die with everyone.

He injected me with demon blood, one thing that he did that almost killed me.

Then, he lead Jace to activate the sword, which almost killed me again.

He didn't love me.

And that feeling made me want to crawl down a hole and never come out of it.

Then, I heard Alec's voice from behind me, "Hey, what're you doing up here?"

I looked back at him, "Just- thinking."

"I'm glad you're okay." Alec's voice was quiet, "I was scared you weren't going to make it."

I turned to face him, small tears pooling in my eyes, "I thought you were hurt- or even worse, dead."

"I thought you were-" Alec admits, making me laugh softly, a small smile on his lips, "I was worried."

"Why are we laughing?" I asked when a quiet chuckle left his lips, "This is a serious matter- we should not be laughing."

This only made us laugh more, and I spoke when our laughter died down.

"You weren't answering my calls or texts, and when you were on the phone with Jace- you were attacked." I listed, giving him a weak smile, "I'm glad you're okay."

"Zee," Alec inhales sharply, "Can we talk- please?"

"Alec." I shot him a look, my smile fading, knowing what he wanted to talk about, "Let's not talk about this right now-"

"No- I want to." Alec stepped closer, "Because- lately I haven't been able to think straight."

My expression softens, as I gently nod, "Yeah, okay- we can talk."

"I'm completely falling apart without you." Alec confesses, not looking away from me, "Since our- fight-"

My heart broke.

He couldn't even say that we broke up.

I had hurt him that badly.

"I haven't been able to think straight- and you avoiding me-" Alec continued, "Without being able to see you in the morning- or kiss you- I don't- think I've ever felt that type of pain my entire life."

I took a step closer, "Alec-"

"No, I- let me finish." Alec stammers, "You said that you couldn't be with me because of your demon blood. What's stopping us now?"

My mouth opened and closed, my voice quiet, "I don't know."

Alec's eyes were tinted red, a glossy sheet over them, "Look Zee, on every mission I've ever been on, I've never felt that type of fear, ever."

"Not knowing if you were alive or dead-" Alec stutters, "I- I was terrified."

I rocked back and forth on my feet, "So was I."

Alec's breathing quickened, his eyes locked with mine, as he took a shaky deep breath as if he was nervous, "Zee, I love you."

A tear fell from my eye, "I love you, too."

Alec didn't stop himself, as he walked over to me and grabbed my face, pressing his lips into mine.

I gripped his collar and pulled him further into me, pushing myself onto my tippy toes, kissing him back.

And it was like all my worries were gone.

I pulled away from him, noticing the tears streaming down Alec's face, "I don't think I've ever seen you cry over a girl before-"

Alec's arms wrapped around me, my back arched, my hands holding his face as he spoke, "Well- when that girl is you-"

I wipe his tears with the pads of my thumbs, another tear falling from my eye, "I've missed you."

A small smile forms on his lips, "Really?"

"Yeah." My voice broke, a smile forming my lips also,  wrapping my arms around his shoulders and hugging him as tight as I could.

"We're good?" Alec kisses my head, holding me tighter than I was holding him.

I nod, burying my face into his chest.

-

"How do you know it was the truth?" Alec asked Jace, as we stood with him in the hall.

Jace had just told us that Valentine confessed that he wasn't Clary and I's brother.

Jace was leaning against the wall, his arms crossed, "He had the Soul-Sword in his hands."

"So- Zee and Clary aren't your sisters?" Alec puts together all what we had just heard.

"No, they never were." Jace shook his head lightly.

I dramatically sigh in relief, "Oh- thank the Angel-"

Jace and Alec were both shooting me looks.

"What?" I blink, "Do you know how relieved I am now that I know I never engaged in incest?"

Alec wraps an arm around me and pulls me into his side, Jace looking between us, "You guys are good now?"

"That's not what we're talking about, but yes-" I press my palms together, "You know what this means, right?"

Jace's eyebrows furrow, "What does it mean?"

"That you and Clary can pick up where you guys left off." I cross my arms, "You guys are cute together."

Alec looks down at me, "What are you, a matchmaker?"

"I could be." I shrug, "I'm capable of many things."

"I'm the matchmaker here-" Jace points out, gesturing between Alec and I, "I mostly got you two together."

"We keep going off topic!" I mention, looking between them.

"She's with Simon." Jace brought up, "I don't want to ruin that."

Alec sighs, "What are you gonna do?"

Jace thought for a moment, "I'm gonna tell her."
