Chapter 32

Eleanor couldn't remember anything. Her eyes seemed to be glued shut. Though she could still see the light behind her eyelids. She seemed to be in a room with an bugging machine beeping every so often.
Maybe a clock.
It seemed to be ticking every few seconds.
She heard shuffling and a little girls voice.
Lethá.
"Momma please wake up." she said.
Eleanor's heart warmed and filled with a emotion she had never felt before.
Love from mother to child.
For child to mother.
Even if they weren't by blood.

Eleanor's eyes felt heavier yet she struggled to open them.
For her could she call her daughter?
Not yet.

Her eyes finally opened to meet two pairs of green eyes.
She started back.
"Guys you scared the heebazeebas outa me!" Eleanor cried.
Seth jumped back his hand over his chest.
"Well that makes two of us."
Eleanor frowned at him raising one eyebrow.

"Did I give you permission to speak pheasant?"
"I'm not a pheasant! I'm the king of Sultara."
"Good to know pheasant."
"If I'm a pheasant then your a pheasant."
"I'm actually more superior than you."
"What how?"
"I am the queen of Sultara and crown princess of Huma. Therefore making me more superior."
"What? But we're married."
"And..."
Lethá was giggling at her fostered parents laughing.

Suddenly Eleanor could remember what happened.

Flash back
Their daggers crossed. Angry snarls leaving their mouths for different reasons.
Clarissa thought that Eleanor stole everything away from her.
Eleanor knew Clarissa had stolen everything from her
They both knew that this could be their last battle.
Or it may prevail as they may kill the one they hated the most.
Eleanor sidestepped Clarissa's  attacks.
They knew each other's weak points.
Then one thrust got through Eleanor's guard.
It went through her stomach as a ripping pain.
More terrible than the devil himself.
Though if she showed weakness she would most evidently be killed.
She calmly pulled out the dagger like it wasn't going to rip out her organs and tear her body to pieces.
She smiled
"Was that supposed to hurt?"
Then a knife sailed it's way to Clarissa's heart.
That was all Eleanor could see before dark clouds corrupted her vision.
