Chapter 2
Noah's POV
I grunted for the 100th time as I tried to pick the lock, it clicked and my heart dropped. I turned the knob and I stepped out of the room, the hallway was clear. I walked fast but quietly down the hallway to the stairs, I walked down and I saw the living room empty.
I went to the front door and it was locked, how the hell do they have this? I pounded on the door.
"Help!" I screamed. "Please help me!"
"This is interesting," I heard someone and I spun around to Braxton. "I see you found what I left." Then my face dropped. "You didn't honestly believe I'd be that careless, did you?"
"I was hoping," I said low and he shook his head slowly.
"You know, I remember as a kid when you done wrong you got punished," he said. "Is that what I have to do with you, Grey?"
"My name is Noah, Noah Love," I said.
"I'll call you what I want," he snapped and I flinched at his rise of voice. "You can go back to your room and you can wait till lunch to eat."
"No, no, no," I pleaded. "Just let me stay out longer, please." He just laughed at my desperation.
"Look Grey, you're unfamiliar with the Mafia and I'll excuse you because of your idiot of father," he said. "But we're raised to be strong and well just heartless, so please continue begging because it amuses me." I just stared at him and then made a break for the kitchen. "Do not make me chase you, Grey!" I looked around for somewhere to hide and he walked in, I ran around the island and looked at him.
"Leave me alone," I said my voice shaky.
"I haven't had my morning run, so this is fun for me," he said and I ran, but he was quicker as he grabbed my waist and I kicked my feet.
"No!" I screamed. "Let me go!" He picked me up and put me over his shoulder, I pounded on his back but he didn't even flinch. He walked up the stairs despite my pleads to let me go. He walked in the room and tossed me on the bed.
I went to go towards the door, but he was already out and locking it.
*
I was staring out the window when I heard voices downstairs, both guys. I could tell one was Braxton, but I didn't recognize the other.
My door knob suddenly jiggled and it opened showing Braxton. Then another boy walked in with bags and sat them on the bed.
"That's some clothes," the boy said. "And some girl stuff." I looked back out the window.
"You can say thank you," Braxton said but I stayed focused out the window.
"She's ok," the boy said.
"Thank you," I said low and looked at them. "When am I gonna get the stuff I packed?"
"I don't have it here, Chico didn't bring it," Braxton said.
"I thought his name was Kal," I said.
"Whatever," he said rolling his eyes and I climbed out of the window.
"Let me cook dinner," I said.
"Fine, I have to go take care of some business anyway," he said. "I hope I come home to a nice surprise." With that, they both walked out.
*
I set down the two plates and set the silverware on a napkin, I got two wine glasses and set them down. I only made spaghetti, I didn't know what rich people eat.
The front door opened and I turned to Braxton, he dropped his keys on the counter along with his phone.
"It smells good," he said and walked over.
"I hope you like spaghetti," I said and turned to the table.
"I should be liking you," he said and I forgot to breathe for a second. He came back with a wine bottle and he poured some in our glasses.
He walked to the head of the table and sat down and I walked to the other. He started eating his spaghetti and I wanted to attempt to talk to him.
"So, how did your business go?" I asked.
"Don't ask me about that," he said and I looked down at my food as I began to eat. He was done first and he gulped down his wine, he got up from the table and he headed upstairs.
I have to wash dishes too?
After I cleaned the table off and the dishes were clean, I decided to head upstairs. I heard the faint sound of the shower running. I walked past my room and to another door, I turned the knob and it opened.
My mouth gaped at the room, the king size bed was messed up, but the view was amazing. I saw another door where I head the shower going, I walked to it and turned the knob. He's my fiancé, I can see him.
I walked in and the bathroom was even better, my curious eyes looked around taking this exquisite area in. I saw the toilet and I smirked, I walked to it and touched the handle.
I flushed it.
"Oh shit," Braxton snapped and I covered my mouth to hold back my laughs. I hurried out and went to my room, I shut my door and jumped on my bed.
My door opened and Braxton walked in, I peeked at him and he looked calm.
"So you like games?" He asked.
"Did your shower get hotter than expected?" I asked with a smirk playing at my lips.
"That's fine," he said. "You'll get what comes to you, just wait."
"I'm already marrying you, what could be worse?" I asked and he smirked with a scoff.
"I'll show you," he said and walked out shutting my door.

I was putting up the clean dishes from that last night that were now dry. The house was quiet because Braxton wasn't up yet. I guess he's trusting me not to lock my door, and I did not want to do anything to jeopardize that.
"Good morning, darling," I heard Braxton as I put up a wine glass. As soon as I turned to him, I got pelted by nerf bullets.
"No, stop," I cried out as I tried to blocked them. "I have no weapon."
"That's the point," he said and stopped, I looked at him. "You wanted war, I'm giving you one." I walked to him and looked up at him, he was at least 6'0 while me, I'm 5'2.
"How much do you know about me?" I asked.
"Your name is Noah," he said.
"How are you going to marry me and you don't even know me?" I asked.
"Well, we can play 20 questions," he smirked.
"Why? I already know you're a butthole," I shot back and his smirked dropped.
"You know you're a real pain in my ass, Grey," he snapped, it was my turn to smirk this time.
"I am? Oh my gosh, I don't even try," I said sarcastically and chuckled. Before I knew it, his hand was wrapped around my throat and I was pinned against the island. "Let go."
"I don't like being disrespected," he hissed and I gasped as I felt my lungs collapsing in my chest. "I'd be damned if I let you start, are we clear?" I nodded. "Words."
"Yes," I breathed out and he let go, I collapsed to the floor and gasped for any type of air. I coughed gripping my throat and tears running down my face.
I suddenly heard a door shut and I peeked up to see Talon. He looked at me and then Braxton.
"I can't leave you and your hulk temper alone for 5 minutes," he said.
"I'm tired of her smart ass mouth," he snapped. "I am the most feared in the city and she has the nerve to disrespect me." He pulled me up by my hair and I gasped.
"Braxton, that's abuse, stop it," Talon said and he let go. I bursted out in tears and Braxton groaned.
"Why do you have to cry?" Braxton whined and I ran to Talon. He touched my face and looked at my neck.
"It's ok," he said. "You're ok. He just has a temper that's all."
"Don't leave me with him, please," I cried.
"Go to your room, Grey," Braxton said and I looked at him. "Now. You're my fiancé, not his."
"Braxton, ease up on her," Talon said and rubbed my back.
"Talon, don't make me snap at you," Braxton hissed low and they stared at each other. I hid my face in Talon's side and he touched my hair.
"Noah, go to your room, it's gonna be ok," Talon said and I looked at him and then Braxton. I pulled away from Talon and headed upstairs.
*
So we were back where we started, me sitting in a window regretting ever being alive. My door suddenly opened and I looked at Braxton.
"I brought you a grilled cheese," he said and laid the plate down. "You can eat it, I really don't care."
Just when you think he's nice, he messes it up.
"And," he reached in his pocket pulling out his phone. "If you have anyone you want to call and talk to. I got to go handle some business and I think I can trust you with a phone."
"Can I call 911?" I asked.
"Noah, just accept this already and get over it," he snapped, I felt off when he called me Noah and not Grey. "You want to go back to a man that doesn't love you? That's too drunk to even notice your existence?"
"So what? I'm going to get love here?" I asked. "I have school."
"'Cause school is so perfect for you right?" He asked. "How many people acknowledge you?"
"My best friend," I said.
"What's your best friend's name?" He asked.
"Nolan," I said. "He's on the football team." He laughed.
"You actually think I'm going to believe that?" he asked, I got off the bed and took the phone. I turned away from him and dialed the number. I waited as it ring, please pick up, please.
"Charlie's whorehouse, you got the dough, we got the hoe," he answered and I bit back the smile.
"Nol," I said.
"Wait, Noah?" He asked. "Oh my god, where are you? You haven't been at school and I went to your house, but you didn't answer. Before I could go to the window, Mrs. Pillsbury's dog came."
"It's a lot to explain," I said.
"Well, meet me at Java Hut," he said, I looked at Braxton.
"You can let me go or you can deal with a tantrum," I said.
"I'll send one of my guys with you," he said.
"Give me ten minutes," I told Nolan and hung up, I handed Braxton the phone as he took it. He walked out and I walked to my closet.
~
So I was lucky enough not to end up with Kal again, so I got another guy. Older and quiet, Ray, but I didn't mind.
We got to Java Hut and I recognized Nolan's car. I glanced at Ray and he got out, he walked around and opened my door. I walked past him and went in, I saw Nolan and smiled walking to him. He saw me and smiled, his blue eyes beaming.
"Noah," he said, but it faltered when he saw Ray. "Noah."
"Ray, go get me a latte, extra foam," I said and he nodded, he walked away. I sat down across Nolan.
"What's going on, Noah?" He asked.
"I'm being forced to marry," I said and he raised an eyebrow. "A Mafia son."
"What?" He asked. "Noah, you can't."
"I have no way out, Nolan," I said. "With my dad's consent, it's not illegal."
"I'll help you escape then," he said and Ray sat the drink down as Nolan shot him a dirty look. I chuckled.
"That's the worst idea," I said. "Braxton would find me and I don't even want to think what he would do."
"Braxton?" He asked.
"Yeah," I said. "He's an butthole."
"I can vouch for that," Ray spoke up in a deep voice.
"Has he hurt you?" He asked.
"No," I lied, there was no way I was telling Nolan about this morning. That's asking for hell.
"Noah, I don't like this," he said. "You around guns and living with a stranger."
"It's not like I like it either," I said. "But I don't have a choice. I'm stuck."
"This can't be the last time I see you," he said. "Or talk to you."
"It won't be, I promise," I said. "It's not like I'm locked in a dungeon and starved. I have a nice room and a good view."
"What about books?" He asked. "Has he given you those?"
"He doesn't know," I said. "I'm trying to not tell him too much."
"You promise you're ok?" He asked again.
"No I'm not, but it doesn't look like I have many options," I said.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So, I updated. Yay? Ok, moving on.
How was chapter 2? New character, Talon. I may or may not have stolen him from TMD as well. But I can do that.
Then Nolan being the guy best friend, it's not cliché where she secretly crushes on him.
What about Noah flushing the toilet on Braxton and his revenge on her? Then him getting a little rough.
Don't be afraid to leave suggestions. No idea is dumb around here.
