❤︎ |5| A Warning
It was a warning.
That things will change. If she doesn't start to try for a baby the glade will fall. It was obvious. The emotions that were displayed on all the boys faces were enough to tell her that this was not normal.
They wanted this.
The Creators were watching each maze. Watching to make sure the girls and boys fulfilled their task. They wanted one thing and they hoped the next generation would have it in them.
They needed this. And they were willing to do anything to get each and every girl they could pregnant. And whoever did end up pregnant would get extra help out seeing as their bodies hold the thing they want most.
Andréa knew that this decision really wasn't a decision. And she knew it needed to be done. She had not had her period yet and she knew it would be coming soon.
Tonight.
Tonight she would try for the baby the Creators seemed to desperately want. She would go through with what they wanted of her because she could not let anyone die. She couldn't do that to herself or anyone else. And at least she knew Newt would take good care of her. Because she trusted him.

"Alby?" Andréa asked after coming to where he sat and ate his lunch. Newt was with some of the Track-hoes while Chuck sat up in the wooden treehouse-like structure and Minho was long gone in the maze.
Alby glanced at her before shuffling to the side to allow her to sit on the crate bench they made out of the boxes sent up here. "Have you finally decided?" He questioned, setting his ham sandwich down.
"I wanted to ask if you knew when the cabin was done. I'd really like to have my own space now."
Alby nodded. "Yeah. The builders should be done sometime today."
Andréa nodded, satisfied with the answer. "Okay." She got up and looked down at her leader. "Okay." She let out a breath. "To answer your question... yes. I chose Newt."
Alby nodded. "Good choice. I trust him with you." Andréa smiled lightly before turning to walk away. "Andréa?" The brunette girl turned around with a raised brow. "It's none of our business when you decide to try. And I know it can be uncomfortable for you. So I won't ask and I'll gather the Keepers and let them know they don't need to bug you. Though I know Newt and Minho have been good in keeping them away from you."
"Thank you, Alby."
"Good that."

Andréa walked over to the pig pen after her Keeper told her to relax while the rest of the Keepers go to a meeting Alby had called. Zart -the Keepers of the Track-hoes- figured what it would be about and seeing as he was one of the more sympathetic ones to her situation he let her have a little break.
She kneeled down where one of the youngest and smallest piglets played with his siblings and reached through the gate to affectionately pet it. The piglet stopped playing and ran on its tiny hooves to get closer to the human.
Andréa ripped a piece of the carrot she had dug up from the garden and fed it to the hyper baby pig. Once the pig finished the carrot Andréa started to caress the animals face causing it to snort in happiness. It nuzzled it's snout into her hand and the girl smiled continuing her soft strokes.
After a few minutes alone with the piglet, Newt joined her.
"Don't tell me you came to save Loki the pig from his unfortunate fate?" He asked with a small grin. He kneeled on one knee on her left side, watching as she stopped petting the baby pig and instead fed the other half of the carrot.
Andréa turned to face him, her expression somber.
"No. I know Loki's fate is to be our food." Newt looked at her sympathetically, and Andréa smiled sadly. "Just like you and I are fated to have these kids for these people."
"Fate will never be the reason we are together, Andréa." He took a deep breathe, looking at Andréa carefully as she moved to sit down with her legs crossed. "You know, I was fated to throw myself off a maze wall, but I did not. I chose to live. Though it did injure me badly."
She caressed his face with her hand, and Newt took it in his own. She wasn't surprised with the news. Being here; it wasn't fun. On a constant loop of doing the same exact thing everyday and not being able to find a way out. Of course some people must have tried to off themselves so that they'd be free of the cage.
She understood now. Why he'd quit being a Runner. He was tempted to take his life. She was glad that he chose to survive and that he didn't get severely damaged. Physically anyway.
"I'd still have chosen you." She admitted. "You're kind and funny. And there's just something about you I can't explain." Newt smiled and leaned forward to kiss her, but she just giggled and pulled away shyly. "And you choose to have our first kiss where the pigs are slaughtered?" She was highly amused and started to grin. "Not very romantic-"
Newt gently grabbed her hands and pulled her to stand up before he wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her close to him for a kiss.
Andréa closed her eyes, giggling into the kiss before throwing her arms around his neck and deepening the kiss. Something about his lips or the way he held her was so addicting. Heat rose in Andreas cheeks the moment his tongue touched hers, electric and delicious, then firmer and more determined, curious about the feelings of kissing each other. Newt's right hand cupped her cheeks and his thumb softly stroked her cheek before they both pulled away, his forehead brushing lightly against hers.
"That was something Newt." She breathily stated. Her face lit in a grin as she moved her head back to stare into his chocolaty brown eyes. "That was too good...is there something I should know about?" She questioned, one eyebrow raised in a teasing manner.
Newt knew what her question was and laughed, glancing down for a second before looking back at her. "No. No never. They're not my type."
"Good." She mumbled, glancing at his lips before placing hers on his once more.

During dinner Andréa sat with Newt on her right and Chuck on her left with a plate of ribs and corn on the crates in front of her. They mindlessly chatted before Alby walked to the group, his plate still full and fresh like he hasn't eaten yet.
"Gally informed me that the cabin is done. Would you like me to take you both after you're done with dinner?"
Andréa looked at Newt for a moment before looking back up at their leader. "Yeah. Sure. That'd be great."
"Be ready in about thirty minutes." He told her before walking off.
"Can I come with?" Chuck asked, wiping some corn off his face.
Andréa shook her head softly, a small on her face. "No Chuckie. Maybe tomorrow."
Chuck lightened up at the news. "Okay! I better get to sleep earlier then." He beamed while picking up his plate and rushing off.
"Wait! Chuck you have wor- and he's gone..."
Newt chuckled and slung an arm around the younger girl. "Well at least we get some alone time."
Andréa laid her head on his shoulder and took a piece of her over sauced ribs and threw it in her mouth. She swallowed harshly as she blurted out what was on her mind instead of overthinking like she usually did. "I was thinking we could start tonight. I haven't had my period yet and I don't know when I would and if I did then we'd all be screwed. I mean a boy already got hurt and I-"
"If you think you are ready then I'm ready too." He chuckled lightly.
Andréa took her head off his shoulder, pursing her lips for a second in thought. "I am."
"Then so am I, love." He told her before bringing his thumb to her lips and wiping some of the sauce away causing her to blush deeply.

It was getting darker by the time Alby took Andréa and Newt to Gally so they could go see the cabin.
"We put it a few feet into the woods." Gally told them. There was dug up dirt as the pathway to the cabin. "We did the best we could. It has a door, a bathroom and, well." Gally rubbed the back of his neck feeing awkward. "The bedroom." Andréa went slightly rigged knowing what he was thinking. Her eyes shifted to Newt and he just placed a hand in her waist as his thumb caressed her.
They came up to the small cabin and Gally pulled the door open with the thick branch the drilled into the door.
"Thank you for making this Gally. And tell the other boys I said thanks."
Gally wasn't going to tell them anything but for her sake he nodded. "Well I hope you enjoy it. I'm going to head back." He told them before parting ways.
Andréa folded her arms as Alby said, "I will send someone to come get you in the morning." Newt nodded. "Goodnight you two."
"Goodnight Alby." The girl said back followed by Newt.
Andréa shared a glance with Newt before walking into the cabin. It was light enough to just barely see each other but it did nothing to soothe her anxiousness. Andrew turned and stared at the bed for a moment as Newt approached her from behind. His right hand went to her waist and his head went to the left side of her head.
"Don't worry, love. I'll take care of you. And if you ever want to stop. Just tell me." He whispered and she nodded as he slid her jacket off followed pulling her shirt over her head. He kissed the back of her neck once before turning her around. He pulled her close to him in a passionate life sucking kiss before falling onto the bed.
Andréa quickly pulled off his shirt and let her hands roam his lean body. Newt lead a trail of kisses down her jaw, between her breast, and to her belly button.
They both made quick work to take off the rest of their clothes and as soon as she could she let her hands roam again except Newt took one of her hands and put it above their heads as he positioned himself.
"Are you ready?"
Andréa nodded her head quickly, without thought. "Mhm."
And that was just the beginning of their night in the woods.
It's short. But I didn't want to prolong it with unnecessary scenes. And that was a good place to end it.
