Chapter 23 - Welcome Home
28th of February, 2007
Michael is 48, Angela is 42
Michael: Anger built up inside me.
My wife with an unknown man?! Who the fuck is this guy?!
He even had one hand behind her neck and his other arm was wrapped around her waist, like he was planning to do more than just kiss her.
Angela quickly pulled away. "Michael, I can explain-"
"Explain what? How I come home because I decided you're more important than a recording session, and find you kissing who ever this is?!" I said.
"It's not what it looks like. He's just a friend, we went to high school together." she limped over to me and put her hand on my puffed chest.
"A very close friend, I assume." I glared down at her.
"No... Mike, we didn't do anything. We were just catching up."
I rolled my eyes. "Catching up... Is that what you call kissing now? 'Catching up'?"
"Michael, nothing happened. I promise you." the guy said calmly.
"No one asked you," I snapped. "And it's Mr. Jackson for you. Get out of my house."
He sighed, "I'll call you soon, Ange."
"You won't be callin' no one."
"Michael!" Angela exclaimed. "It's okay, Danny. Of course you can call me."
He smiled slightly at her before leaving.
"What's wrong with you, Michael? He's just a friend!" Angela hit my chest.
"Just a friend that you were about to kiss?" I rolled my eyes.
"I'm telling you, it was nothing! Just let it go, okay?" she sighed, kissing my cheek. "I appreciate you coming back, I really do. Thank you."
I watched as she grabbed her walking frame and started walking towards the stairs.
"And just so you know, jealousy doesn't like good on you." she mumbled before slowly starting to go upstairs.
~
Angela: What has gotten into Michael? It's not like I actually kissed the guy. So maybe I did want to kiss Danny, but I wouldn't have done it. I know I was gonna pull away eventually.
And how could Michael think I would ever cheat on him?
"Is everything okay?" nurse Izzy walked into the bedroom just as I lay down.
"Yeah, everything's fine. Do you mind getting me some aspirin? My head hurts." I said.
"Sure. I'll be right back."
I sighed and leaned back, closing my eyes.
"Are you okay, Angie?" Michael asked.
I inhaled sharply, "I'm fine."
"You don't look fine."
"Michael, just go away. I have a headache as it is, I don't need you to make it worse by fighting me."
"I just want to be with you." he said, sitting next to me.
He ran his hand over my bump, but I pushed it away.
"It hurts, you know," I scooted away from him. "That you really think I'd betray you by kissing another guy. I was going to pull back."
"I'm sorry... You know I have trust issues. Lisa slept with someone before we even got separated."
"But I won't do that to you, because I love you. Maybe Lisa didn't love you as much as she said, but that's not the case here."
He looked down, "You're too good for me."
"Are you kidding?" I snorted. "I think it's the other way around. Jake definitely knew what he was doing when he wanted me to marry you."
"I love you so much, Angie. You know that, right?"
"And like I just said, I love you, too." I smiled.
He kissed me, making me grab the side of his face. I kissed him harder, and he was easing into it.
I felt his hand on my waist, then he pulled to him as much as possible.
"Angela, here's your aspirin-" we heard nurse Izzy and hurried to pull away. "Oh, I'm sorry for interrupting. I didn't know you'd be back so soon, Mr. Jackson."
With me still on the right side of his body, he gave her a small smile, "Call me Michael, Izzy. And I didn't know I'd be back so soon, either, but I thought about my lovely wife and how I can't leave her alone when she needs me by her side."
"That means less work for me." Izzy winked.
"You know it. Take the rest of the day off, I got this."
"Thanks, Mr. Jack- I mean, Michael. Just let me give Angela the aspirin and I'm going."
Nurse Izzy hurried to put the pill in my hand and the tall glass of water on my nightstand and left.
"Where were we?" I asked Michael while kissing his neck.
"Angie, we can't..." he sighed heavily. "You know we can't... Stop teasin'..."
I groaned, "Michael, please... I need you."
"No, I don't want to hurt you more than I already did."
He let go of my body, and got up.
Hurt me more than he already did? But he never hurt me, what is he talking about?
"Michael, we already discussed this. You didn't cause my fall, it was an accident." I told him.
Michael shook his head, "It's not that."
"Then what? Tell me."
It was quiet for a few moments before he spoke again.
"It's not important," he said. "Are you hungry?"
"I am, but what were you talking about-"
"Then I'll go get you lunch. I'll be right back." Michael smiled sweetly before placing a kiss on my forehead.
I huffed as he left, now being more curious than ever.
~
Michael: That was a close one. Learn to control your mouth, Michael.
I went into the kitchen and asked the chef to prepare a meal for Angela.
I decided I should tell her about Debbie and I after the baby's born. She doesn't need the stress of a broken heart while carrying another human being inside of her.
My phone went off, and Debbie's name showed up.
I took in a deep breath before going into my office to answer.
"Hey, Debbie."
"Michael," she chirped. "How are you?"
"Could be better." I muttered.
"Troubles with Angela?"
"It's non of your business, Debbie," I sighed. "How are you doing? Everything okay with my baby?"
"Yes, it's fine. I've just been a little lonely today...But my mother was over. She was very happy to hear we're having another baby." Debbie said.
"You told your mother?!" I almost yelled.
"She's my mother, Michael. Of course I told her. What did you think, that I'd hide this from the entire world? She has to know."
I rubbed my face and calmed down. She's right, her mother has to know.
"Debbie, I gotta go. I'll talk to you soon." I told her, hanging up.
Going back to the kitchen, I saw that the chef finished preparing Angela's lunch.
"There you go, sir." she gave me a tray full of food.
"Thanks." I said and hurried to return to Angela.
~
"So about what you said earlier," Angela mumbled as she ate the last bites of her chicken. "Please tell me."
"I already told you, babe, it's not important." I sighed and looked away from her.
"It clearly was if it would've hurt me, like you claim."
"Fine, I will tell you," I said, making her eyes light up. "But after AJ's born."
"Michael, that's 4 months from now." she whined.
"I don't want you worked up when you're pregnant, you don't need that, okay?"
"I guess I can be patient."
"Thanks. And just know that I never meant for it to go as far as it did." I whispered, kissing her cheek.
"I'm ignoring that because you're making me more curious." she rolled her eyes.
Well, at least a little bit of the truth is out. But I'm still going to make it up to her. She deserves it, and I know exactly how I'll do it.

12th of March, 2007
Michael is 48, Angela is 43
Angela: "Where are we going?" I asked Michael for the millionth time.
"Yeah, dad, you can't just tell us to get in the car at 7 in the morning and not say where we're going. We're supposed to go to school." Prince told him.
"It's a surprise for Angie's birthday," Michael said, tightening his grip around my shoulders. "And don't act like you're not happy to get out of school for the day, son."
"But daddy, we have a field trip today!" Paris whined.
"We'll have more fun at the place we're going to. Now, get some sleep, kids, because you're going to be tired if you don't."
"What fun, exactly? I still can't do much, Michael." I sighed.
I was finally able to walk on my own, which made things much easier. And my lung was already almost perfectly healed, so Dr. Rhodes said I could pretty much do anything, except run or do things that were too risky, like going on theme park rides and such.
Michael kissed me, "I know, but that's just part of the surprise. Now, put your head on my shoulder and rest, okay?"
He patted his shoulder, and I couldn't resist resting my head on it.
"Just wake me up when we get there." I yawned and closed my eyes.
~
I woke up in what seemed like a really comfortable bed.
When I opened my eyes, I saw a beautifully decorated room I already knew so well.
It was one of the guest rooms in Neverland, where Jake and I would usually stay whenever we came here.
That's the surprise? Another day at Neverland?
I groaned as I peeled the warm sheets off my body and stood up.
I noticed a piece of paper on the nightstand, and took in my head.
"Hope you slept well, Angie. There's a toothbrush and some toothpaste in the bathroom. And while you're in there, go ahead and take a shower. The closet is full of clean clothes you can pick for yourself.
Join us outside when you're done, just ask one of the staff members to take you to us.
Love, Michael."
I smiled.
When I was inside the bathroom, I was surprised to find more than just a toothbrush next to the sink.
All of Michael's and I's necessities were there, organized nicely.
I sighed in relief when I saw my shampoo and conditioner, then hurried to hop in the shower.
After an amazing shower, I wrapped a robe around me, then went straight ahead to the closet.
Even in there, all of our clothes were neatly placed all over the small room.
Okay, this is clearly not just another day at Neverland.
I picked a simple maternity dress that would fit my 5 months pregnant bump, and left the room.
The smell of food being cooked instantly hit my nose, and I licked my lips. I was so hungry.
"Angela!" I heard Izzy behind me. "You're finally awake."
"Oh, hey, Izzy. Wait, what are you doing here?" I furrowed my eyebrows. She wasn't supposed to come along.
"My lips are sealed. Come on, everyone is on their way back. They were just about to start on lunch."
Confused, I let her help me down the big staircase of Neverland. Just as we entered the living room, Jared came in running with his tiny feet, followed by Rose, Blanket, Lily, Eric, Paris, and Prince. Lastly, Michael ran after them, breathless.
"We won!" Blanket squealed.
"You did," my husband panted heavily. "Gosh, I'm getting old. I couldn't even beat my own kids in a small race."
He then noticed me, and gasped.
"Angela, you're awake! Kids, go hug your mother while I rest a little."
He plopped down on one of the couches, never taking his eyes off the children and I.
After they all calmed down, Michael told them to go wash their hands before sitting down for lunch.
Izzy offered to take the babies, and he patted his lap.
"Welcome home." he said when I sat down.
"Home?" I asked, now completely confused.
"Yeah, home," he grinned. "That's your birthday surprise, we moved back to Neverland."
I widened my eyes. "Really?!"
"Mmhm." he hummed, making me hug him tightly.
"Oh, this is the best birthday ever, Michael!" I kissed him as hard as I could. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!"
"Anything for you, baby. I just want you as happy as you can be, and I realized this place would do just that. Plus, we did need a bigger house. Our family is expending and there's no way we would all have fitted into that house."
I felt my eyes burn with tears when I kissed him again.
"Wait, why are we sleeping in the guest room?" I questioned.
"Oh, I'm having the master bedroom redecorated. That room has to go through some serious renovation before we could sleep in it. And it's all for you and AJ, so the both of you would be as comfortable as you can be here." Michael told me.
He rubbed my stomach, and I suddenly felt a little movement.
"Oh, my God," I teared up again. "Did you feel that?"
"Was I supposed to feel anything?"
"Yeah, I think she kicked."
After I said that, another movement was felt, and it was followed by a few more.
"Oh, she's really going for it now." I smiled.
"Just so you know," Michael uncovered my bump and put his lips on my skin. "It's not fair that only mommy gets to feel you, AJ. Daddy's feeling neglected."
I rolled my eyes playfully, lifting his head up. I brought my lips to his, and kissed him so passionately, I could feel his member getting hard underneath me.
"Dr. Rhodes said I can do whatever I want now since my lung is almost perfectly healed, you know..." I whispered in his ear.
Michael smirked, "Then why don't we get upstairs and see if that bed could hold the both of us?"
I giggled as he carried me up the stairs and into the bedroom I was just in, both of us completely forgetting about the kids for the next 15 minutes.
