25th of May, 1998
Michael is 39, Angela is 34, and Jake is 35
Angela: Jake helped me slowly into the car, and put the belt around me and my giant stomach.
"I'm not sick, just pregnant, Jakey... I can buckle my own seatbelt." I said.
"I know, but let me do this, please?" he begged.
I kissed him and leaned back as he closed the passenger seat door.
Although I loved him and the attention he was giving me, I couldn't help but be a little annoyed. I needed my space, too.
Jake sat down in the driver's seat and started the car.
"You brought enough snacks, right? 3 hours is a long time to drive... Don't want you and the twins to get hungry." he smirked as he backed out of our driveway.
"Got all the food I need... And I'm actually excited for once to go see Michael. I can't wait to see Paris again." I told him.
"Yeah, me too."
I think Jake told me that Debbie might be there. But I didn't care, as long as I see Paris again. I absolutely fell in love with that baby when we met her over a month ago.
He then reached his right hand to touch my stomach and rubbed it gently. "And I can't wait to meet these two."
I smiled at him and held his hand that was on top of my belly.
~
"Prince, say hello to uncle Jake." Michael said to his little boy who hid behind his legs.
Jake crouched down to his level and offered his hand.
"He doesn't remember me..." Jake chuckled as Prince moved away.
"He'll open up in just a bit," Michael picked him up. "Angela, you look... Great."
"I think you meant 'big'." my husband smiled and wrapped an arm around me.
I scoffed.
Michael rolled his eyes at Jake, "Don't let him get to you, he's just being a tease. I think you look good."
"Thanks, Michael," I removed Jake's arm from around my waist. "So where's baby Paris?"
"With her mother in the living room. Come, I'd love you to meet her, I'm sure you'll like her."
I scrunched my nose. So she is here, and apparently I do care after all.
I never personally met Debbie Rowe before, but the idea of meeting her made me sick to my stomach. Lisa Marie didn't deserve to be replaced by her. Although I was happy for Michael, for finally becoming a dad, I disliked his wife and I had no intentions of meeting her.
Unwillingly, I followed Jake into the big living room of Neverland, where Debbie was feeding little baby Paris.
Aww, she's so cute...
"Debbie, these are Jake and Angela." Michael introduced us.
"Oh, yes, I've heard a lot about you, Jake... And it's great to finally meet you. A pleasure." Debbie smiled.
"You, too." Jake said.
"And Angela, it's nice to meet you, as well, and that bump of yours... You're having twins, right?"
I nodded, running a hand over my stomach. "A girl and a boy."
"How exciting! I sure hope I get to meet them when they're born." Debbie said.
"You should sit down," Jake whispered in my ear. "You were in your feet too much."
"I'll get some drinks." Michael told us as I sat down.
Jake followed him, "I'll come help."
Great. Now I'm alone with Debbie.
"Are they kicking by any chance?" Debbie asked. "I'd love to feel them..."
"A little, but I doubt you'll feel them." I answered.
"I miss feeling kicks, this one used to be a real kicker." she looked down at Paris who was still eating from her bottle.
Another thing I didn't like about Debbie was the fact that she was leaving her children like that. Being all mother-like for a while, then just leaving them alone with Michael... What mother does that?
I understand she's basically just a surrogate, but I'd never leave my kids, especially after nurturing them for sometime.
"Here we go." Jake came in with Michael after him, both of them holding two glasses.
Prince had a sippy cup in his hand as he walked with his little feet after his father.
Jake gave me a glass full of orange juice. I sighed. He kept giving me the really healthy stuff during this pregnancy, when all I wanted was to eat tons of chocolate and ice cream.
"Someone's done." Debbie announced and put the finished bottle on a nearby table. She then gave Michael the baby and he patted her little back.
My hormones we're going wild, and I just couldn't wait to hold her.
"Angela, would you like to do the honors of burping her? It could be good practice." Debbie offered.
"Sure..." I gave Jake my glass and reached out my arms.
As soon as Michael gave me little baby Paris, I placed her against my shoulder, and she eased into me.
"Aww, you're going to be such a great mother." Jake laughed.
"Yeah, I agree." Michael nodded.
"How far along are you?" Debbie questioned.
"Um," I patted Paris's back very gently. She was so tiny. "Just yesterday I went into my 32nd week... And since they're twins, my doctor expects them to be born in the next four weeks, give or take."
"Very exciting. Jakey's gonna be a daddy!" Michael had a smirk on as he ruffled Jake's black hair.
"He thinks I'm a child." my husband rolled his eyes and fixed his hair, but Michael messed it up again.
Jake groaned and swatted his hand away. I giggled, then Paris let out a little burp. I smiled and finally cradled her close to me. She fit perfectly on my giant stomach.
"She likes you." Michael said.
"How do you know?" I asked.
"You see the way she has her nose against your skin? That means she likes you. She always does that with people she likes."
I kissed her forehead and pulled her closer. The cutest baby ever.
~
After two hours of being at Neverland I got a little tired and sick of this place.
Usually when we drove all the way here we'd stay overnight, but there was no way I'd be doing that today, especially with Debbie here.
She does not take hints well. I tried to stop talking to her, but she kept on speaking with me and asking questions about my pregnancy.
"Jakey, I think it's time we go home." I told him.
"About that-" Jake started saying, but Michael cut him off.
"I thought you were staying the night."
"We are, don't worry."
"We are?" I raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah, Michael really wants us here." Jake said.
I huffed. But we agreed at home to drive back.
"Can we talk alone?" I whispered, not wanting to hurt anyone's feelings.
Jake sighed before helping me walk outside.
"I can't believe you, Jake! You know I wanted to stay home tonight!" I raised my arms in the air when we were safe from anyone who could hear us.
"Baby, I know... But Michael insisted. I couldn't say no to him." he told me.
I crossed my arms over my chest, "Oh, so now he's more important than your pregnant wife and her comfort?"
"What? No. What make you think that? I just didn't want to let him down."
"Well, I'm not staying here. Give me the car keys, I'll drive home."
"Are you crazy?" he looked at me with those brown eyes of his. "You're pregnant, with twins, you are not gonna drive for 3 hours only to go back home."
"I am. You want to stay here, and I don't. Give me the car keys, Jake."
He groaned, knowing there was no point in arguing with me.
He took out his car keys, "You will call me when you reach Santa Barbara and when you get to LA, then when you get home. Understood? And if anything, even the slightest thing, happens, you will stop the car and call me. Got it?"
"Yes, sir." I rolled my eyes. Jake placed the keys in my hand and pulled me into a tight hug.
"I'm sorry for upsetting you. I love you." he said into my neck.
"Love you, too, Jakey. Can I go home now?"
"Sure. Just give me a kiss."
I attached our lips and kissed him deeply.
We said our goodbyes and he rubbed my stomach before letting me get into the car.
~
It's been around an hour since I left Neverland, and everything went smoothly. I already called Jake and told him I passed Santa Barbara, and also informed him I decided to stop at a McDrive and get myself a hamburger.
I was craving it like crazy, and french fries, too.
I munched on my fries as I stopped at a red light. I sighed, feeling way too full to be eating anymore.
As I kept on driving, I suddenly felt a little bit of pressure in my abdomen. I shook my head, thinking it's just my stomach trying to digest everything I just ate.
But a few minutes later, I felt more pressure.
"What's wrong, babies?" I rubbed my stomach with one hand.
I kept my eyes on the road, and felt wetness between my legs.
Great, I peed myself.
I groaned and decided to pull into a gas station to clean myself up.
But when I stopped the car, I noticed the pool on the floor that included some blood.
Shit.
~
Michael: Jake laughed at a joke I told, "Okay, now I gotta go to the bathroom. Keep an eye on my phone in case Angela calls."
He got up from his seat and quickly found a bathroom.
I shook my head, chuckling a bit. I missed him. He was so caught up with Angela and their pregnancy lately, and I was with Debbie and the kids, that we barely saw each other.
His phone suddenly went off and I saw Angela's name on the screen.
I picked up, "Jake's phone."
"Who's this?" an unfamiliar voice asked.
"I'm Michael, Jake's friend... Where's Angela?"
"She's here with me, I'm a cashier at a gas station in Santa Barbara. She's having contractions and her water broke, I already called an ambulance, but she told me to call her husband, Jake..."
My mouth hung open, just as Jake came back.
"Angela's in labor." I told him, giving him the phone.
His eyes almost popped out of his head and he quickly took it.
"Angie?! Are you okay?!" he asked frantically. "Okay, I'll calm down. I'll be there, I promise."
"I'll get you a car. I have pretty fast drivers here, they'll get you there as soon as possible." I said.
He nodded, then went back to Angela. "I love you, be careful."
He hung up and sighed.
"I knew I shouldn't have let her go on her own. Great, now I'll miss my kids' birth."
"You won't, get your ass outside, and you'll be there in no time." I ordered.
He smiled and hugged me. "Thanks, Mike. I owe you one."
~
Angela: "I have a planned c-section at UCLA. You gotta get me there, they have my record and everything. My doctor is there. Please." I begged the nurse who checked me.
"Don't worry, we already contacted them. We'll do the c-section here, you're in good hands, Angela." she smiled, then ordered me to open my legs.
I did as she said and felt her fingers inside me. "Oh, wow, that was quick. 8 centimeters, I need to get you ready for the surgery. These babies should've been out an hour ago."
"But my husband is on his way, I can't have them without him-"
I was cut off by both a contraction and the nurse positioning my bed so I'd be laying flat on my back.
"I'm sure he'll make it. But right now there's a doctor getting ready to deliver them and you need to be prepared for surgery. Let's go."
She gave something that looked like a shower cap and I put it on.
Then, she rolled me out of the room, and slowly into the operating room.
~
"Making the incision." the surgeon who stood above my big stomach announced.
I expected to feel a little pain, but there was nothing. I was completely numb from the neck down.
A few minutes later the surgeon said he sees the first baby.
"I'm here!" I heard Jake suddenly, and saw him barge in with surgical clothes and a mask to match.
He grabbed my hand and kissed me, "I'm so sorry, baby, I'm here now and-"
A cry was heard and we both looked up.
"You have a baby girl!" a nurse said, giving Jake the wrapped up baby.
"Oh, she's beautiful, Angie..." he showed me my daughter.
"Yeah, she is." I sniffled.
Jake gave me a kiss on my forehead, then the nurse said they have to take our baby girl for checkups.
Soon after she was out, another nurse gave us our baby boy.
"Oh, wow... They're both amazing." Jake told me and gave me a deep kiss. "I love you, Angela. Thank you so much for them."

11th of June, 2006
Michael is 47, Angela is 42
Michael: Angela giggled loudly while I placed kisses all over her stomach.
"Shh... You'll wake up the kids." I said.
Her entire persona changed for the last two days as she was trying her best to push Jake out of her mind. She didn't talk about him at all, she never mentioned him...
I guess she was doing what she was supposed to, but there was one thing I didn't approve of. She was neglecting Lily and Eric a little. She hasn't put them to bed for the last two nights, or say goodnight. Even when we were the entire family together she was mostly with my children.
I sighed and stopped kissing her body.
"Why'd you stop?" Angela whined.
"I'm not feeling it." I said.
I sighed and rolled off of her, then returned to lay next to her. I watched as she put her shirt back on.
"Since when are you not feeling it?"
I shrugged and closed my eyes.
I felt her lips on mine suddenly, "Okay... Goodnight."
She shut off the lights, then turned her back to me.
I have to talk to her about her kids. She loves them more than anything in this world, she can't just neglect them like that only because she's trying to push Jake away.
"Angie, why are you avoiding your children?" I questioned.
"What makes you think that I'm avoiding them?"
"Angela..."
"I'm not, Michael." Angela said.
"You haven't spent one minute with them for the last few days, ever since we went to see Dr. Avery," I told her. "It's because she told you not to think about Jake, right?"
"I am not avoiding my kids, Michael. Drop it already."
"Then explain why you haven't been with them lately, because I don't see any other reason for you to suddenly avoid them. You love them more than anything. Dr. Avery told you to push Jake away, not your kids."
"I-" she started saying, but screeching from the baby monitor was heard.
It was Rose's crying, I already knew Jared's was calmer.
"I'll go get her." I sighed and got up.
Angela pulled on my hand, "Michael, wait... You're right, but I can't see another way to deal with this... They both remind me of Jake so much and-"
Rose cried louder.
"We'll continue this talk, just let me calm her down." I said.
I left the bedroom and found Rose in her crib, her face red from crying.
"Shh, baby girl, daddy's here..." I cooed as I picked her up.
She calmed down pretty quickly, but I kept holding her and rocking her small body.
I felt so blessed to have her and Jared. I might've taken Angela and their pregnancy for granted at first because I knew the only reason we were having the babies was because Angela wanted to fulfill Jake's wish, but as her bump grew more and more, I realized how excited and happy I really was to be having not one, but two babies.
But I never thought I'd still be changing diapers at 47, and who knows what the future might hold for our future children...
No, I still haven't let that go. I want another baby from Angela. But I have thought about it, like Dr. Avery instructed. Didn't make me change my mind, though.
I decided I'd be the most supportive husband and father I could be and dedicate my time to helping Angela with her pregnancy.
Rose looked at me with her blue eyes and smiled.
"Daddy wants you and Jared to be a big sister and a big brother so badly..." I told her.
She giggled as if to agree.
"Come on, let's get you to sleep."
~
Angela: Michael's words sunk in slowly.
I'm not trying to avoid Lily and Eric on purpose... Right? I just need to let Jake go. Those kids remind me of him so much. They both got his beauty.
It's been hard trying to forget him. He was such a big part of my life, and he left it so soon...
I shook my head, trying to get him out. But it was useless, and now my three days of hard work went to waste.
Deciding I needed some air to breathe, I quickly got out of bed and hurried to run down the stairs.
~
I found myself parking in front of Dr. Avery's office. Luckily, as I opened the car door, she was just coming out of the small building.
"Dr. Avery!" I called.
She looked at me, a scared look on her face, but quickly sighed when she saw it was me.
"Angela, to what do I owe this pleasure?" she asked.
"How am supposed to do it?" I said.
"Do what?"
"Forget about Jake with my kids always reminding me that he was there, and now he's not."
Dr. Avery sighed. "Let's go inside and talk, okay?"
I nodded and followed her.
"So," she smiled and sat down on the chair across from me. "You're struggling?"
"I am, very much... I was successful with forgetting about Jake for a few days, but I did it while also forgetting about my children, Lily and Eric."
"Honey, I think you got me wrong. I wanted you to push him away for a while, not to erase him from your life completely. By trying to erase him, you're also making yourself forget everything that had to do with him, and that includes your two shared children. I never wanted you to do that. Just try not to think about him too much, and whenever he comes into your mind, forcibly try to push him out of your thoughts. That's all I want you to do."
"But every time I look at my kids, I see him in them. And it's distracting me from Michael, too. I want to show him my love, but then Jake I see Jake in my mind." I said.
"I think what you really need is to let Jake go," Dr. Avery told me. "Did you ever throw or give away his things after he died?"
"No, not really... I got his Will a few days after he passed away, and then talked to Michael about his wish. For a few months I was still grieving, so I didn't want to even look at his belongings, and that lasted until Michael told me he'd marry me. After a few fake dates I immediately moved into Neverland, along with my kids, and that was it. I never got to it."
"Well, there's your opportunity."
I looked down, "I don't know-"
"Do you want to be able to really love your husband, or not?"
"Of course."
"Then let go of Jake. He's not here, Angela. You can't let him down or betray him, especially because he wanted you and Michael together, right?" Dr. Avery asked.
"Yes." I answered.
She smiled, "There you go. I'm glad we had this talk."
"Me too. Thanks, Dr. Avery."
With that, I shook her hand and got back to my car.
I need to get rid of Jake's things as soon as possible...
I turned the car, and started heading towards Jake's and I's old place.
