HER POV

       I feel the car come to a slow stop, the wheels making a row rumble as they run over what sounds like dirt.

       "We are here," Brian's husky voice fills my ears. I hear as he steps out of the vehicle and then my door opens. "Let me help you out love."

       I am yet to see anything as the dark satin fabric presses against my eyes. The blindfold only causes my anticipation to grow. I feel like I am a teenager once again.

I feel Brian wrap his arm under my legs and the other around my back, carrying me out of the cat bridal style.

"You ready?" His breathe fans my neck causing my small baby hairs to stand up. The goosebumps run all over my body and I can only nod.

Brian unties the blindfold in one swift move and slips it off. My eyes widen as I see a projector set up a few feet away us. The night sky glimmering over the lighten up city across the ocean.

Brian grabs my hands and leads us to the back of the gray Chevrolet Traverse. He opens the trunk to display it has been adorned with a large comforter and fairy lights. A bottle of champagne is nested in a picnic basket filled with chocolate-covered strawberries, mini sandwiches and other sweets.

"Do you like it?" Brian asks with an expecting gaze.

"This is—" I look at all his hard effort and my lips curl into a grateful smile. "This is amazing. Thank you, Brian."

I am beyond touched by his romantic gesture. It is not a luxurious setting, but he put so much thought and love into it.

"I am glad you like it," Brian sighs in relief. "Come, let's get inside."

Brian helps me get into the car and covers are bodies with a warm blanket. I help him take the food out while he pops open the champagne.

"So what is the showing for tonight?" I ask as I cock my head to the side with curiosity.

"You'll see my love," he replies as he turns on the projector and the movie starts playing.

After the intro finally finishes, the title of the movie displays on the screen—50 First Dates. I lean into Brian's embrace as we watch the movie.

       "I love you," Brian whispers after planting a kiss on the top of my head.

       I snap my head up and meet Brian's surprised gaze. I can tell that he did not mean to say that out loud.

       "Brian I—" my sentences trails off. I do not know how to respond. Should I say it back?

       Disappointment flashes through his eyes but he masks it with a smile. He strokes my cheek as I stare at him.

       "Don't worry, I don't expect for you to say it back. We've only been dating for a few months and it is still too early-" I plant my lips on his, cutting his sentence short.

       My heart takes control over my actions. As his lips mold with mine, I find the confirmation I need. I know that it is probably not going to end well. Heck, everything I have done this far can have dire consequences, but in this moment I no longer care.

       I want to love this man. I want to be by his side and start a new life with him. In this moment, I am ready to finally let go of my worries... of my past.

       As I pull away and stare at his dazed eyes, I know for certain. It is him that I want.

       "I love you Brian," I whisper back.

       "You really mean it?" He asks and I nod with an assuring smile. Once he gets the confirmation he needs, his lips break into a wide smile. "Move in with me Sam, please?"

       I am taken aback by his sudden request. He holds onto my hand and brings it to his lips.

       "I can bare to have the side beside me empty at nights, or wake up without having you there to brighten up each day," Brian has a pleasing look in his eyes.

       "Yes," I finally say and he pulls me towards him.

       "I am so happy you came into my life and I promise I won't let you go," Brian whispers as he hugs me close to him.

       I lean into his touch. His warmth and security washing away any scars from the past. I finally let myself be completely his. In his arms, it feels like nothing can stop us and I finally am at peace. I finally found my home.
