HER POV

I look down at a sleeping Brian. He seems at peace, his eyes shifting every-so-often as I gently run my hand through his hair. We returned to his apartment a few hours ago and he immediately fell asleep after our fifth round this afternoon. My gaze goes toward the clock on the nightstand.

"Goodbye, Brian," I whisper as I place a kiss on his lips. He stirs a bit but does not wake up.

It takes everything in me to step out of the bed. Despite only knowing him for such a short time, the brunette grew on me. I like to believe it is solely because the sexual attraction, but deep down I know he brings a sense of security and protection that I have not had in a long time. If only I had met him sooner, then maybe I would not be in this mess. I slip on my clothes and look back at the sleeping figure with a sorrowful expression.

I try my best to be as quiet as possible as I creep down the hallway, but my efforts fail. The lights turn on in the once dark corridor. Brian's roommate stands near the light switch with a look of judgment in her eyes.

"I see you are leaving without a farewell, again," she says scornfully.

I roll my eyes not wanting to cause a scene, especially since doing so will wake up Brian. If that happens, I know that I will not be able to leave.

"Take care of him," I sigh as I look over at Brian's bedroom door. I then glance back at Eloise with a strained smile. "He needs a good girl by his side."

"Wh-" I open the door and close it behind me in one swift move, cutting off the red-headed girl's sentence.

I lean onto the door and take in a deep breathe before slowly letting it back out. I swallow back the lump in my throat and walk down the hall.

If I were free of my demons I would have stayed. Heck, I would have made Brian forget all about his gold-digger of an ex. I feel my heart being torn at all the what-if scenarios running through my head. I can never be happy again. I am stuck living this fugitive life, running away from my monsters. I wipe away the tears and make my way out of the apartment-building.

"No more one-night stands," I tell myself as I step out into the cold chilly night. I look left and right at the almost deserted road. "Where's a taxi driver when you need one?"

As I am looking around for a cab, I feel a pair of eyes drilling a whole at my head. I glance over at a black car parked across the road. As my gaze falls on it, the headlights turn off, making it hard for me to see who is on the inside.

I feel a shiver run down my spine as I look over at the plates. V1LLA, it read. All the blood drained out of my body.

"Fuck," I mutter.

To my good fortune, a yellow can pulled up in front of me. I watch as the door to the vehicle across the street creaked open and I wasted no time to hop into the cab.

"Lucy's Cafe," I tell the driver and he nods.

I look out the back window and find that the car is gone. My heart beat hard against my chest as I tried to steady my breathing.

"Are you alright ma'am?" The driver asks and I nod with a forced smile. However, I keep myself alert to the vehicles surrounding us.

I place my thumb between my teeth as my leg bounces nervously. The driver pulls up at the famous cafe which is stationed a few blocks away from Antonio's Bar. I hand the driver the amount due and step out of the vehicle hesitantly.

I look at the passing vehicles and the ones parked nearby, but nothing. My eyebrows scrunch together as my confusion grows. It couldn't have been him. If it had been, I would not even have the chance to step into the cab.

I rub my temples before turning on my heel and walking toward Antonio's Bar—well, more like strip club. I trudge up the back door stairs and I am greeted by a familiar face.

"It look like you've seen a ghost Sammy," Kieran says with a concerned look in his eyes.

I look up at the short, bald man in front of me and smile. Kieran was the head security guard prior to Bernard. Despite his short stature, he is a very handsome man with mint green eyes and a well-toned upper body.

"I see the boss has decided to take you back," I tease as I lean onto the door frame.

"Under the condition that I don't even glance over at his daughter," Kieran scoffs with an eye roll.

Kieran and Giselle had a on-and-off fling which Antonio found out about and was not really happy. He fired Kieran on the spot.

"Good luck buddy," I par Kieran's shoulder as I see Giselle approaching us.

I walk past her grimace glare and into the bar where the music it playing loudly. There are already so many drunken men. They threw money at the two girls currently on stage, along with some rated R innuendos.

I make my way through the crowded tables, trying to remain unnoticed by the hungry men.

"What's your name hot-stuff?" I groan in annoyance as I turn to face the man that had grabbed onto my wrist.

       "Cat-eyes," I reply with a wry smile.

The man looks only a few years older than me. He is not bad looking, but something about the glint in his eyes made me quiver in fear.

"Well, Cat-eyes, why don't you join us?" The man smiled seductively.

I try to pull my hand out of his grip while smiling back nervously. "I am sorry, I-I am not currently on duty."

The man's grip tightened as he pulled me toward his lap. His friends laughed as his hand went to my exposed thighs.

"You and I could have so much fun," he whispers. His breathe reeking of alcohol. "You just put the price."

Before his hand could creep further up my leg, I sprint out of his grip. I can feel my blood beginning to boil.

"C'mon Cat-eyes, I don't bite."

He moves his hand toward me but I take a few steps back. My hands clenching into two tight fists.

"I said, no." I state in a threatening tone.

"Well, I don't care!" The man growls as he launches towards me. He pulls me toward him and smashes his lips onto mine into a rough kiss.

I whimper as his grip on my neck tightens. I muster all the strength I have and stomp down on his foot with my heel.

"Fucking bitch!" The man exclaims grabbing the attention of everyone in the bar.

"I told you not to touch me," I spit out.

His deadly gray eyes look up at me. "You messed with the wrong person," he chuckles evilly.

"Mr Colombo," Antonio rushes over to the man, glaring in my directing. "I am so sorry about this."

"I pay you well Antonio," Mr Colombo growls. "You better punish this bitch or else you can say goodbye to my generous fundings."

"Sit down Mr Colombo," Giselle ushers as she aims to calm the raging man. Intrigued by the new beauty, he obeys. "I will personally take care of you."

Antonio turns to me and clenches his jaw.

"Go pack your stuff," he says. He looks down at the floor not even daring to look me in the eye. "You're fired, Samantha."

"Antonio, you can't. I need this job." I beg.

Stealing wallets only sufficed a certain amount of money and it was certainly not enough to pay for rent.

"You should have thought about that before attacking one of our prestigious customers," Antonio remarks.

I scoff at his comment and turn on my heel. I quickly grab the few belongings I have and walk out of the bar.

"Sammy, what happened?" Kieran asks as I walk past him.

"Antonio just made me homeless, that's what happened." I answer, trying my best to hold in the tears.

I throw the duffle bag over my arm and walk toward the quiet dark road. The slow pitter-patter of the starting rain ends the silence.

"What the heck am I going to do now?"
