Opal was soon whisked off to the President's mansion for the Victory Banquet, where there was very little time to eat as the Capitol officials they elbowed each other out of the way attempting to get a picture with Opal, who was growing more stressed by the minute. The beaming flashes of the cameras became intoxicating as the evening went on. A tap on her shoulder causes the girl to turn, her fists are slightly raised but soon fall back to her side.
"May I have this dance?" Finnick questioned.
Opal smiled, her facial features glowing "Of course," They began to make their way to the dance floor ignoring the stares they were given. The pair took their places and waited for the soft flow of music to begin, once it did Finnick stepped forward and bowed while Opal did a small curtsy. They began to circle each other, their gazes remained locked. Finnicked placed his hand on her back, her hand found his shoulder, and their free hands met. Together, they danced to the music, their feet in perfect sync to the beating of Opal's heart. As the song progressed she felt relaxed and allowed a small smile to form on her lips this was quickly matched by Finnick. To him she was perfect. Finnick wore a grey spotless suit, which matched her dress. His eyes were as blue as the spring rain, deep and irresistible, Opal couldn't help but get lost in them. When the dance finished Finnick kept a hold of the girl's hand leading her to a small garden, it was well-maintained, with a variety of plants and flowers that were arranged in a pleasing manner. It reminded Opal of the flower field back home. It included a mix of annuals and perennials, with different colours and textures to create a visually interesting display "Its beautiful Finnick,"
"Your safe now, you will never be put back in the games" he spoke softly sincerity filling his voice "I will protect you." She took a step closer, so close that he could smell the berries of her shampoo, and the variety of creams the prep team must have used on her skin, skin that he so desperately wanted to touch. Even in the darkness of the lightly lighted area, her eyes were green. At that close, he bent his neck so he could meet her lips, Finnick realised that the green in her eyes was in fact a constellation of grey, blue and gold. He gently brought his hands up and rested them on the curves of her hips. Their lips met, soft lips on soft lips. For the briefest of seconds, her lips were his and his were hers. His hands travelled to her ribs as he drew Opal closer before their lips broke leaving both teens with a grin on their faces.
Opal sat with her legs crossed on a chair as a big screen begins to count down from ten, it had been a day since the whole situation with Finnick and the girl couldn't help but beam at every chance she got. Caesar carried on with his usual jokes while he teased the crowd. Opal speaks very little often just smiling or laughing at the man's jokes. Eventually, he began to ask questions that require a little more explanation "Now, Opal, we all saw how you and Finnick danced last night, at the Victor party. What can you tell me about that?"
She paused finding the boy's eyes who gave her a simple nod, it was his way of telling her that it was okay to speak about "Well, me and Finnick, have became close since the games first started. He has helped me a lot."
"Well, when you jumped into his arms after the games, I think we all realised what was going on." he speaks placing his hand on his heart before laughing obnoxiously "Now tell me, what was going through your head when Matt strangled you?"
Caesar's question hit a nerve, and Opal felt her heart drop slightly "I suppose I felt a little betrayed, but my survival instinct quickly took over."
"It sure did," he beamed "Have you got anything else to add?"
"I think that's it from me." She answered honestly. Caesar soon sighed off waving his arms for the film crew to stop recording, everyone was laughing and hugging. Opal quickly returned to her room and found there was nothing to take, as she had already been wearing the necklace Finnick gave her along with the ring from the blonde-headed girl. They drove them through the streets in a car with blacked windows, and the train was already waiting for them upon arrival. Opal barely has time to say goodbye to Fergus, Caledonia and Celine, she can't help but feel upset even know she knows she will see them in a few months when she takes her victory tour around the Districts. The train begins to move as they are plunged into night and Opal gets her first night of free sleep since the reaping

I know this chapter is short! But I felt like this interaction needed its own little chapter, also I made a small error in only now realising that Marie Avgeropoulos the actress that plays Opal actually has green eyes, lol.
