Nakia
"Kamala!" Kamala Khan turned around to see her best friend Nakia Bahadir running up to her. The two were now walking side by side down the street.
"Nakia!" Kamala smiled as she pulled her friend into a hug. "What's up?"
"What's up? You were supposed to tell me how the party went" Nakia replied with a smile as Kamala let her out of the hug. "I thought you would be itching to tell me which superheroes were there. Usually you would have texted me all the details during the party or after, so what happened?"
Kamala smiled awkwardly. "Right, yeah" she nodded. "I meant to tell you everything but I got distracted"
"Kamala Khan distracted?" Nakia asked overly sarcastically. "Never"
"Oh shut up" Kamala smiled and pushed her friend gently. "Anyways people that were there... there was Tony, Captain Marvel, Wolverine, Moon Knight, Tigra, and the two Spider-Men. Those were the only people I saw before I left"
"Left?" Nakia asked quickly. "Why would you leave before you got to meet all the other avengers?" Nakia was looking at her friend suspiciously.
"Like I said, I got distracted" Kamala replied with a shrug.
"By what?" Nakia asked curiously.
"Moon Knight paid me to make friends with his nephew" Kamala replied with a shrug. "Nice kid, kinda sheltered though. According to Mr. Knight I'm his first friend outside his religion. That's the whole reason he brought the kid to the party"
Nakia nodded in understanding. "Respectful though? Not rude about you being Muslim?"
"A perfect gentleman" Kamala replied with a nod.
"Good" Nakia replied with a nod. The two walked for a bit in silence before she spoke again. "What's the kids name?"
"(Y/n) (l/n)" Kamala replied with a smile. "He's Jewish"
"That's a first for our friend group" Nakia replied causing Kamala to nodded enthusiastically. Nakia smiled at her friends enthusiasm. "You seem kinda smitten with him"
"No" Kamala blushed and replied quickly. "Not me"
Nakia laughed at her friends awkwardness. "Relax. I'm just messing with you" she shook her head as Kamala visibly relaxed. "You make it to easy sometimes"
"Yes, you keep telling me that" Kamala replied as she crossed her arms. "I'm meeting with him again tonight. Wanna come?"
"Are you just inviting me because you're afraid he'll realize how easy you are to embarrass and you need someone to distract him if that happens?" Nakia crossed her arms.
"Maybe?" Kamala drew out the word. She smiled awkwardly at Nakia who just sighed and nodded her head. "Great! I had a close call last night but I don't think he realized"
"How could he not notice? This is you we're talking about" Kamala glared at her friend again.
"Nowadays I try not to be myself when making first impressions. Lures people in, then we become friends. That's when I show who I really am!"
"Did it ever occur to you that maybe people like who you really are?" Nakia asked as she tilted her head.
"I did" Kamala nodded thoughtfully. "And I've decided that that's the reason I only have you and Bruno as my friends instead of a lot of people"
Nakia was about to say something but silenced herself. That may have been a good point. "Still, just try being yourself"
"Fine!" Kamala groaned and stopped as they reached a bus stop.
"I thought you had your drivers test yesterday afternoon?" Nakia asked, confused as to why they were taking the bus.
"... I may have failed it again" Kamala whispered causing Nakia to laugh.
"Where are we headed?" Nakia asked a few minutes later.
"Bergenfield" Kamala replied as the bus pulled up in front of them.
"You have the patience for an hour long drive?" Nakia asked as they got on the bus. Kamala's eyes widened.
"An hour long?" She asked quietly as they sat down.
"And that's not counting the stops made by the bus" Kamala groaned loudly, causing people to look in their direction. "Why didn't you two agree to meet halfway?"
"I didn't think it was that far!" Kamala laid her head against Nakias shoulder. "Wake me up when we get there" she closed her eyes and within moments she was asleep.
An Hour Later
"Kamala?" The girl felt someone's hand on her shoulder as she was shaken awake. "Kamala we're here" she groaned as she opened her eyes.
The two girls stood up and quickly got off the bus. "So where's your friend?" Nakia asked as she looked around. It was a nice neighborhood, nicer than any neighborhood in Jersey City.
"Should be meeting us somewhere around here" Kamala replied with a shrug as she also looked around. "The houses here are really big"
"It's a Jewish neighborhood" Nakia replied with a shrug. "It may be a stereotype that they're mostly rich but stereotypes don't come from nowhere, even if they're not completely true"
"My favorite stereotype is that Jews have horns" the two quickly turned to see (y/n) walking towards them. "Unfortunately it's not true. I'd love to have horns" he smiled at the two.
"Horns would be cool" Kamala looked around to make sure nobody was around before horns popped out of her head. "See? Cool!"
"Very cool" (y/n) replied with a nod before Kamala got rid of the horns. He then turned and saw Nakia. "I'm (y/n)"
"Nakia Bahadir" the girl smiled in response. "Nice to meet you"
"You too" (y/n) smiled back. He was surprised that Kamala had brought a friend but he wasn't about to bring it up.
"So" Kamala started as she looked around. "Which is your mansion?"
(Y/n) looked at the houses around them. "They aren't that big" Kamala and Nakia glanced at each other, wondering if he really thought that. "Anyways mine is a few blocks away" he started walking and motioned for the two to follow. "Luckily my siblings haven't started summer vacation yet. It's unbearable when they're around"
"How many siblings do you have?" Kamala asked curiously.
"Four. Two brothers and two sisters"
"Wow" Nakia whispered.
"Guess big families is another at least partially accurate stereotype" Kamala whispered, causing (y/n) to nod in affirmation.
"There's a couple a few blocks away with ten kids. I'm surprised someone could live through giving birth that many times" Kamala shuddered slightly at the thought of the pain that that woman must have gone through.
"People keep glancing at us" Nakia said as she looked around.
"Don't see many non-Jews around here. Less so hanging out with Jews" (y/n) shrugged as they crossed the street. "I didn't consider that before or I would have warned Kamala" he shrugged.
"It's fine!" Kamala assured him as she shrugged. They walked some more before crossing the street again.
"This way" (y/n) turned to walk down the street and the two Muslims followed close behind.
A few moments later they were standing in front of his house. "And you don't consider this big?" Nakia asked curiously.
"Not when a family of seven lives in it" he shrugged before walking towards the door. He opened it and waved the girls inside.
The two girls entered the house and looked around. "Are we the only ones here?" Kamala asked as she looked around.
"Yep" (y/n) replied with a nod. "I wouldn't have brought you here if we weren't. I don't feel like answering all my parents questions" he walked past the girls and looked at them. "So what now? I don't really socialize much"
"Right" Kamala nodded. "I got that impresssion from your uncle paying me to hang out with you"
"Right" (y/n) nodded awkwardly. "Anyways what do you usually do for fun?"
"Fighting crime and writing fan fiction" Kamala quickly replied.
"Yeah... I think he meant something we can all do" Nakia replied causing (y/n) to nod in agreement.
"Oh" Kamala deflated. "Video games?"
(Y/n) looked over at Nakia who just shrugged. "Alright. Video games are fun. I'm open to that"
