Lieutenant Swan
She woke up and looked around her. She tried to move and suddenly remembered what had happened, and now her arms were tied to the pipe behind her.
"Where the fuck am I??" She asked. The soldier approached her and bent down on one knee.
"Trying to act tough, little girl, will get you nowhere." The soldier replied.
"Who are you, and what do you want?"
"Lieutenant Swan, Soldier for the Order of Trinity. And what I want, is to keep your filthy, criminal hands off the relic."
"Criminal? Trinity are the only criminals around here," Regina spat.
"Says the person who calls herself the 'Tomb Raider'."
"'Tomb Raider?' First of all, that's not me, it's my sister, and secondly, she never called herself that."
"Seems to me she embraced it," the soldier turned around to walk the other way.
"At least she doesn't shove her title all over people's faces and right down to their assholes, Lieutenant. Tell me your name- your real name- what's stopping you?" She shouted as the soldier turned her back. Swan froze.
"Assholes?" She repeated. "Oh, I can show you more than you know and want to know about assholes, so if you want me to leave your virginity alone, I suggest you shut the hell up, Princess."
"I am not a fucking princess!"
"Look at you," she touched Regina's chin and held it gently in between her thumb and finger. "So small, so fragile, lonely, scared and so... innocent." The Swan gazed into Regina's chocolate brown eyes, trying to stop herself. Trinity would shoot her in the head for this.
Regina, felt the same things she felt earlier. Her heart began to pound faster, her pulse raising as the looked into those green eyes. A feeling she'd never felt towards anyone before.
Swan pulled back, and pointed her gun towards Regina, aiming right at her head. Regina, shocked by her reaction, looked at Emma who was facing the other way, then stared at the weapon. Scared that the soldier could and would pull the trigger at any moment, she spoke with a shaky voice, tears falling down.
"Please..."
The deep, scared voice coming from the girl only made her weaker. She wanted it, but she couldn't. Trinity would murder her. She thought of the Tomb Raider and the consequences that would arise from that. Lara had a deep hatred for Trinity, and considering she almost killed her, well that made everything worse.
She held the gun as Regina wept, pleading for her to put the weapon down. Eventually she dropped it.
"If you don't want me to kill you, you'll do what I say." Regina nodded her head violently. She'd do anything not to die. "What's your sexuality?" She asked the brunette.
"I- I don't know..." she replied, unsure after what she had just felt for this soldier. The soldier unchained her from the pipe, but still kept a firm grasp of her wrists. She pulled her forwards and held her hands above her head.
"What are you doing?" Regina asked, confused. Swan stayed silent.
She pushed her against the wall and slammed her lips against the brunette's. At first, Regina was confused- what was she thinking? A few seconds into the kiss however, Regina began to embrace it. She closed her eyes, before realising what was happening. She pushed the Swan away.
"What are you doing?" Regina asked.
"Deciding." She walked up to Regina and placed her finger gently on Regina's chin, pushing her head up slightly so they gazed into each other's eyes.
Suddenly, they heard helicopters. Just as the blonde was about to kiss her again, she pulled back. Regina looked at her confused, but the soldier wanted her.
"Listen to me," Swan began, placing her hand under Regina's ponytail, holding her close to her kevlar vest. "Run. Run as fast as you can. Leave this place."
"You don't want me anymore?" Regina asked. The soldier sighed.
"That's the problem. I want you. So badly. But I can't let anything happen to you. So run away."
"No! Didn't that kiss mean anything to you?" She pushed herself away from Swan, who quickly grabbed her hand.
"It meant the world to me. But please, Regina, go. Trinity will kill the both of us if they see us together. I'll find you again. I promise."
Regina sighed at first, but listened. She turned around and walked away.
"Emma," Regina stopped.
"What?" She asked.
"My name. Emma."
Regina smiled as she picked her bag up. She threw it ovew her back and ran.
She did her jacket's zip up as she ran, hearing the sound of the Trinity helicopters. She loved the soldier, Emma, but her sister would never approve.
'Trinity are the enemy,' Lara would say.
She thought about everything as she ran back the way she came. She ran across a wet concrete beam, slowly but stealthily. Well, not stealthily enough. She fell right into the freezing waters below her as the top of the tomb was blown off by one of the helicopter's giant wrecking ball.
"Shit... so cold," she muttered to herself as she swam through the water to a ledge. She scrambled up the wall and stood at the platform, watching Trinity breaking through. She turned and ran back towards the cave to the small camp she'd seen earlier.
Lara saw a small piece of cloth. Regina was nearby. She finally came across the large pit which her sister had fallen into.
"What have I gotten you into..." she spoke. She jumped down into the pit, rolling as she landed, her bow ready in case of any potential enemies down here.
Emma climbed out of the crypt and covered it up, leaving it as it was originally. Ropes dropped from the helicopters and soldiers slid down. One particular, landing right in front of her.
"Lieutenant Swan."
"Konstantin."
"Findings?"
"I found the codex, but it was destroyed." She paused, thinking for a moment. She could tell her commander about Regina, the other Croft girl. Or she could protect her. "The Croft girl. She did it."
"And you didn't stop her?"
"I tried but-" he grabbed the lieutenant by the neck and pushed her against the wall.
"I didn't make you lieutenant for you to just let the enemy escape." He held her in the position for a moment before letting go. She fell down after losing her balance before quickly getting up and coughing. "Few more seconds and you would have been dead," he turned around, raising his hand and moving his finger in a circular motion. "Have a report on my desk by tomorrow, Swan."
"Yes, Konstantin." She replied.
The soldiers grabbed the ropes, as they were pulled upwards into the helicopters. Emma turned around and walked to the small camp she'd made earlier.
"Leave me here, why don't you," she muttered, before realising that Regina must have gone through there, too. How else would she have gotten out? The thought of this made her excited to jump onto her snowmobile back to HQ.
Regina took the matches out of her bag. A little damp, but she hoped it would work. She struck it against the box, but it snapped.
'It's fine, you have loads left.' She told herself.
She tried again, with a match that felt a little less damp than the previous one. She struck it, but it wouldn't light.
"Goddammit!" She screamed, throwing the box to the floor. She quickly picked them up and put them back into the box. She sat by the unlit fire and curled into a ball. She pulled her hood over her head and buried her face into the small unzipped part of her jacket.
Lara crept through the cave, aware of any dangers ahead. She reached an intersection when she heard a noise coming from the right. Without hesitation, she took an arrow from her quiver and shot it. Regina quickly looked up as the arrow whizzed past her ear.
"Shit!" She shouted, quickly getting up. Lara shot another arrow, unaware of her sister. Regina quickly catched it. "Lara, it's me!!" She shouted.
Lara looked behind the corner.
"Regina?" She squinted to make out the figure. Lara ran towards her and grabbed her. "You're all cold and wet!"
"I can see that..." Regina said as Lara looked at her. "I fell."
"How?"
"I found it. The codex. There was a soldier there, but I escaped. Then Trinity came and destroyed the tomb. The codex got destroyed. I'm sorry."
"Sorry? You're alive. Don't be sorry, you did what you had to."
"Yeah..." she thought about the soldier, but didn't mention her.
Emma, meanwhile hid around the corner. She couldn't go out there, not when the Tomb Raider was out there with her sister. It would ruin any chance of a relationship between them.
If Regina told Lara, she'd be beyond mad. She had to keep her love and relationship a secret, but she'd do anything for the soldier. She may have only just met her, but she felt things for her, things she'd felt to very few people before. But they were all dumb high school romances. This was real.
