My head throbbed as I lifted it up. Where was I? I felt the covers of my blanket on top of me and I realised I was in my room. How did I get here?

"Hey sleepy head?" A voice said.

An image came into focus and it was Emma.

"Come on its almost 12!"

I groaned. "What happened last night?"

"Nothing much besides you vomiting all over me." She giggled.

"I'm so sorry about that!"

"No it's okay. I get it. I also did that when I had my last break up. It was horrible. But hey you get over it."

That just reminded me that I could never be with her...not that I wanted to. Damn I was in denial.

"I know what will make you feel though." She opened the curtains and let the sunlight in. "Ice Cream!"

"I actually wanted to stay in bed today." I moaned throwing the covers over my head and blocking out the light.

I suddenly remembered that Liam was gone. Where did he run off too? And what did he mean it has been a long time coming?

"It'll really help after a break up. And chocolate too."

I peeked at her and she looked so beautiful, her eyes pleading at me that I couldn't say no. 

"Okay I'll go get ice cream with you. There better be butterscotch and fudge flavour." I said.

I hopped out of bed and we walked to the ice cream place down the street. We sat down after we got our ice cream and she told me about her break up.

"Remember I told you I left Penguin Publishing?"

"Yup. Why did you leave?" I asked.

"Exactly that. A break up. She cheated on me with my boss."

"She?" I blurted out, almost dying by a spoon.

"Yeah..." she changed colour. "I'm gay. That's what I wanted to tell you last night before you drowned me."

"I'm still so sorry about that." I bit my lip and tried to contain my excitement.

"It's okay. It's just I've been really hurt before so I know how you feel."
I sighed. "Liam wasn't exactly my boyfriend. He's my best friend yes, like Ryan. Wow. You'll love him, but Liam has been my sort of cover up for my parents. I know it's wrong to lead him on and I really had no idea he felt something for me. I thought it's was just friendly and he knows about Leah..."

"Who's Leah?"

"My ex...No." I stopped myself, while smiling absently. "She's my lover. But we grew apart. She moved when I was younger and I haven't seen her since."

"Oh. I'm so sorry about that. About Liam too. It must be hard."

"Yes it is. But it's getting better. I have you. You...you make me feel good again."

"I do?" She smiled.

"Yes." I admitted. "You're amazing."
"You too."

"I don't know why anyone would ever think about cheating on you. You're too good to be hurt. You don't deserve that."
