The shivers that trailed down my spine from his words were enough to make my knees buckle, but I held my composure the best I could. I didn't want him thinking he had an affect on me when we just officially met last week.
It was too soon for him to even have this affect on me.
I cleared my throat and finally turned to look at him and his signature smirk was there. Of course.
"You'll be fixing that all by yourself then because I will be going nowhere with you tonight." I countered forcefully with a small smirk of my own and his eyebrow quirked up
I guess he wasn't used to someone's defiance, let alone a female's, but if he wanted to start a war with me, I'll be glad to win. It would only fuel my confidence.
"We'll see Ms. Robinson." He teased playfully and I couldn't help but roll my eyes, turning my attention to the front
The amount of times we've interchanged between formalities was enough to give me a headache, but I made the note to disregard it. He probably played this game with every other businesswoman in the industry, and I will not be added to that list.
Suddenly, his hand gripped onto my exposed thigh, bringing me out of my thoughts abruptly. A small gasp escaped me but before I could say anything, he grabbed my chin softly to make me look at him again.
Fuck, those eyes are intense.
"I don't like being fucked with Navehya. You roll those pretty eyes at me again and I'll be more than happy to show you all the ways I can make them roll too. Understood?"
Everything he said went through one ear and out the other, but the tingles still managed to go straight to my womanhood. How his demeanor could change from playful to promising in an instant was beyond me but I knew it was going to make me flip this table over. Okay, maybe not that extreme.
I bit my lip to keep myself from replying and turned my gaze away from him. At that moment, Hakeem stepped onto the stage and everyone instantly shushed, turning their attention to him.
He wore a black suit with a white buttoned down shirt and tie underneath and black slacks. His haircut also looked fresher than two weeks ago, so I knew he finally went to the barber shop. He actually looked put together for the event.
No, I shouldn't be complimenting him. Especially after the bullshit he pulled. It was bothersome to accept he didn't invite his own sister to the gala that highlighted the company she played a part in building, but it was even more irritating to stomach that he stood up there taking all of the fucking credit when he basically laid on his ass.
My blood boiled as I watched his signature smirk take over his face, and I couldn't help but see our father through his facial features. That same persistence and accomplished glow was apparent in them, but it aggravated me since Hakeem was nothing like our father. You wouldn't even think they were related if it weren't for the last name or resemblance.
My eyes shifted their gaze and a smile broke out on my lips when I noticed the sheer layer of sweat coating his forehead. He was nervous. It was the first time he held a gala, all by himself, so I could sense this moment from the very second I stepped in the building.
I laid back, relaxing in my chair as I watched him pick up the microphone and clear his throat. Everyone looked to him, and I hear the flashing of cameras from a distance. Even on a secluded night addressed to business owners only, the press managed to be involved.
"Good evening everyone." He spoke into the microphone, placing his hands flat on the podium in front of him
The building erupted in "hello's" and "hi's", but I kept quiet, not wanting to support him in the slightest. My eyes scanned the room on their own, and I pointed out a few business people who contacted me some weeks ago about shit I couldn't remember to save my life. It wasn't that I disregarded their requests, but my inbox was always filled with millions of emails. The majority of them were bound to be overlooked.
"Psst, why aren't you up there?" I heard Cole from beside me
My eyes rolled on their own accord - again - yet they continued to pay attention to Hakeem but not his words.
I turned to look at him to see that he was already looking at me with a small smile and I cringed at the sight. I've never seen him smile genuinely before so it took me off guard. I dismissed it though, answering his question the best I could.
"You're new here, so I won't clown you for that question, but sometimes my brother and I aren't on the best of terms when it comes to the company. That being said, I let him have this moment to himself."
My statement wasn't exactly the truth, but who was I to spill everything to him while he remained our company's biggest rival? We aren't getting that close.
"Hmm, I see." He answered with an understanding nod
I couldn't help but hear a deceitful undertone to his response, but again, I shook it off, turning my head back to the stage. To my dismay, Hakeem was still talking about... something. My interest in his presence started to falter as the seconds past, and eventually, I couldn't take it anymore. I was beyond bored so I excused myself to the restroom.
The very moment I stood up, my eyes met Savannah's and I mouthed to her "bathroom". She pointed her finger to her left, a sign asking me if she could come with, and I shook my head. I was capable of using the bathroom on my own.
She nodded and turned her head and that's when I noticed Harry beside her at the table, drinking a clear liquid from a glass. He was scrolling away on his phone, but occasionally looked up to scan the area. I smiled at the thought that he was always on guard despite him being a chauffeur.
I turned around and continued walking to the empty hallway that held the bathrooms and pushed the heavy door open. Instantly, I realized that it was empty and smile gratefully since I didn't have to deal with anyone. My peace was short-lived though when I heard the door being pushed open abruptly.
Before my body could even react, I felt hands plant themselves on my waist, spinning me around to face them. My eyes widened when I see that it was Cole with a clenched jaw. He looked devilishly handsome yet dangerous at the same time since some of his once gelled jet black hair was framing his face.
His stonish grey eyes focused in on me as his grip on my waist tightened slightly. The amount of pressure he used let me know he was serious and I couldn't help but remember his previous words that clouded my thoughts back at the table.
He leaned in closely, raising one of his hands to my chin, forcing our eye contact to intensify more than it already was. I could've fucking fainted right there and it didn't make it better that my breath damn near hitched in my throat.
"What the fuck did I tell you about rolling your eyes at me Navehya." He gruffed, the statement sounding more of a statement than a question
His tone was harsh and my throat grew dry as I couldn't even form words to counter his soft aggression. My body was new to the emotions he sent through me, but a part of me enjoyed them and wanted more. I had never been talked to like this and my legs never clenched at the mere words of a man. The aura he executed and the power it had over me was indescribable, but it excited me. Thrilled me even.
I heard him chuckle softly, but it wasn't one that would make me want to laugh with him. No, this chuckle was dark and almost like a warning. A promising warning that I knew he meant.
His hand went from my waist, curving around my abdomen and landed directly on the top of my covered womanhood. My eyes widened slightly when he applied a small amount of pressure and I forced myself to stay quiet by biting my bottom lip. His gaze shifted to my lips momentarily and his hand tightened on my chin in response, forcing me to look at him. Forcing me to watch everything he was doing to me.
My insides were screaming to get away from him and so was my brain, but my body didn't listen. My feet stayed planted into the tile blocks underneath us and my hands stayed loosely by my sides.
"You're not moving away from me. That's a first." He noticed, his smirk growing wider
I blinked, finally breaking out of my trance, and stepped back from him to face the mirror and place my hands on the sink. My eyes closed on their own as I tried to focus on my breathing and my thighs started to rub against themselves trying to get rid of the pressure he caused. Bad idea.
He instantly came behind me and pressed my hips to the counter with his, trapping me against it. His larger frame and hands gave off an exceptional amount of heat to my body and core and my heart rate only picked up when I felt something poke my lower back. It didn't take me long to put two and two together.
He pushed his hips into my backside gently so I could feel more of him and I damn near melted on the spot. My fingers tightened around the counter and I finally looked up into the mirror to see us, to see him, already looking at me with a lust filled desire in his eyes. The sight was incredibly sexy and I couldn't believe I was actually partaking in it.
I've never been this intimate with a man, and I never even thought of it in a while since I eventually accepted the fact my business life would take over my personal life. Boy was I wrong.
We kept our gaze on each other as he continued to push himself against me and suddenly, he leaned his lips closer to my ear.
"This was your last warning, soon you'll get the full consequence. Keep on playing with me." He mumbled and snapped his hips into me roughly
The action made me fall forward a little on the counter, a small moan and gasp erupting from me, and I could practically hear the fucker smirk victoriously from behind me. My eyes were half closed, still feeling the aftermath of his affect on me, but soon, his warmth left my senses and I could finally think and breathe normally again.
Just like that, I heard the door open and close, signaling that he was gone.
I stayed pressed into the counter, rubbing my thighs together, a little harder this time, but when the door pushed open softly, I stopped and turned on the water to at least look normal. I sure as hell didn't feel like it.
The feminine sigh of relief that came beside me was all I needed to know it was my best friend and I blew out a breath, turning to her direction.
"Sorry girl, that chili burrito I had really came through at the wrongest time." I spoke, turning back around to flip the water off
"Stanky ass, hurry up so we can mingle and socialize. The donkey is off the stage now." She replied and another smile sketched itself on my face
Of course she wouldn't miss a chance to mock my brother.
"Okay, I'm coming." I answered with a slight chuckle and took a paper towel from the dispenser, drying my hands thoroughly
We checked ourselves out one last time in the mirror, and the memories came back full fledged. They caused a bright red blush to creep against my cheeks, but I tried pushing them to the back of my mind to focus on the rest of the gala.

I know, I know, it's been a minute since I've last updated, BUT, I will try to make my updates a bit more regular now. And since y'all waited so patiently, I went ahead and added a little spice to the chapter.
Anyways though, how did we like the more aggressive and sexual side to Cole? Is it what we anticipated or no?
Anyways (anyways), I hope you liked it.

Stay blessed
