"Hey, babe. Wake up", says Jessica as she kissed me.

"Hey, what are you doing?", I say as I nudged her if me.

"Well I thought I could be all girlfriendly one last time", she says as she smiles at me.

"One last time?", I ask.

"You know the truth now, you're gonna go to him aren't you?", she asks.

"Yeah I am but you knew all along didn't you?", I say.

"Yeah. I confirmed with my dad. What are you going to do?", she asks.

"I can't hate him. I can hate his parents but I can't hate him.", I sigh.

"So now that you've found the answer, will you stop searching and move on with your life now?", asks Jessica.

"I've always been so hooked on revenge but now, none of that matters anymore.", I say as she smiled.

"The power of love", she says.

"Yeah, you really did help me out these past few years. Thank you", I say to her.

"Not me you idiot, Alex", she says.

"Yes, the power of love and fate right?", I teased.

"I set you free", she says as she puts her hand on my shoulder.

"Thank you Jess", I say as I kiss her forehead.

I then head to the bathroom to take a quick shower. Thank you for everything Jessica. Our work is now complete. She's a tough cookie but she's been a massive help these couple of years.

Alex Sparks, you're the child of the people that caused the accident that killed my parents. There was no foul play or drunk driving involved, just shitty luck. It was tough after that, I bounced back from foster home to foster home, my luck turned when I turned 18, I inherited the will of my mother and father, they left me their entire life savings, it was more than enough. I was now legally legible to know what exactly happened to my parents that day, after Jessica's father told me what happened I wanted justice, I couldn't forgive them, I spent years looking for them to bring justice to a cold case. I soon found out Mrs. Sparks passed away and her husband Mr. Sparks left, he was off the radar and couldn't be located. I also found out they had a son, I searched endlessly for him but I couldn't find him either. I was filled with so much rage and anger towards the Sparks family... That's how I spent the past few years... then by some weird twist of fate. I met you, Alex. There was something about you that reminded me of home. Being next to you gave me this warm invigorating feeling. As soon as I saw you I remembered you just by that small scar on your neck... as the boy who gave me chocolate that day at the hospital. I was so hungry... I then recently found out the truth about who you were, the Sparks boy, Jessica also found out and threatened to tell you about it all but I couldn't let that happen. Now I understand why you did it, Jess. You did it to prevent me from making a huge mistake, didn't you? I was enraged when I found out ... I'm ready to tell you everything now so please wait for me. I'm coming.

Thank you for pulling me out of the car that day, thank you for the chocolate, thank you for freeing my darkness.

I head outside to see Jessica fidgeting on the bed. She looked so sad but then smiled.

"I have to let you go now.. Don't I?", she asks.

"I'm sorry", I say as I held her hand.

"You're a great guy Kyle. You deserve the whole world and so much more", she says as a tear fell out her eyes.

"It'll be okay", I say to her.

"Go get the guy", she smiled.

I then grabbed the keys and headed outside. I rushed to the car. I was so excited. I'm finally ready to get rid of this excess weight on my shoulders. I had to get to him. I then pulled out as drove away. My phone then started ringing... It was from Alex.

"Ky... Kyle", he says softly.

"Hey, Alex. I'm on my way", I say to him.

"Okay...", he says to me as he starts crying

"Hey what's wrong? Are you okay?", I ask.

"I'm so sorry Kyle!! I'm so sorry!", he says as he breaks down

"Alex. What's going on your scaring me. Take a deep breath. I'll be there soon", I say to calm him down

"I'm so sorry", he says and hangs up.

What is going on? I immediately try calling back but it went straight to voicemail. Did something happen to his phone? Why was he crying? Did Stefan do something? I needed to get there quickly so I sped up.

I finally arrive at his apartment and race upstairs and bust his door open. I then see Angel and Dean standing in the apartment.

"Where is he! What did you do!", I yell.

"Calm down", says Angel.

Angel and Dean then explained everything to me as I stand there in shock.

"I was too late?", I say as I fall to my knees.

"We couldn't stop him", says Angel as he gulped.

"I'm gonna kill Stefan", I say grinding my teeth.

"He already skipped town", says Dean.

"Alex... He wouldn't just leave me here... He wouldn't....", I say as my voice began to break.

"If you found out something like that.. Wouldn't you freak out too?", says Angel.

"Even after this I would never abandon him", I say as I break down crying on the cold floor.

This nonstop stream of sadness will never stop will it? He's gone ... You didn't even say goodbye to me, Alex... How could you do something like that...

And so... A year had passed since then.

I looked endlessly for Alex with the help of Jessica and her father but Alex didn't want to be found. I got a solid lead but it brought me to his aunt's house, she had no idea where Alex was, all I knew was that he was with his father.

I never gave up looking for him, if it was fate that brought us together, then fate will bring him back to me. I spent all that time with regret. You saved me Alex and I couldn't save you from this. I just wanted to see your face, to hold you, to tell you everything will be okay.

Just when I began to give up hope ... Jessica's father found him... He was in Miami. His father apparently owned a beach house there. I dropped everything and headed straight to Miami. I'm coming for you, Alex! Just wait for me.

I followed Jessica's father's directions to the beach-house and there I was, standing in front of it. I took a deep breath as I open the walk-in gate.. I glance up and there he was... I saw him through the window. He looked like he was in his room. A tear ran down my cheek, he looked so happy. He had that big goofy smile that he wore so well... That smile... It was so pure... You're doing well, aren't you? You're doing well without me Alex... I guess if you weren't then you wouldn't have that big smile on your face. There was a reason you left me behind, wasn't it? You tried to save me from this... You didn't want to involve me in any of this, me being here would complicate things, wouldn't it?

I'm glad that smile never left you, Alex, just seeing your face is good enough for me. Seeing you well, seeing you happy. If you're happy Alex, so am I. I then smiled as I turn around and headed back out the gate.

"I remember now, the thing that saved me... It was your smile... Keep smiling like that so you could bring joy to everyone around you, just like you did for me.", I say to myself with a chocolate bar in hand.

*Flashback*

"Would you like a piece of chocolate?", asks a little Alex as he smiled.

"Yes thank you. I'm starving", I say as he breaks the chocolate.

"Alexander. Come here let's go", says the nurse as she comes to fetch him.

"See you later", he says as he smiled at me.

It was your smile. It saved me back then and it saved me now. Goodbye Alex, I Love You.
