Chapter 4//The Girl
Devin
It took me a whole day just to consider going back to his house. I remembered it was his birthday and I knew I couldn't miss it or he'd be sad. He seemed really happy around me and I seemed like a new person around him.
When I reached his house, Kyle was sitting on the grass outside his house. I looked at the gorgeous boy in confused amazement. It's his birthday and he looks happy. I've never been happy on my birthdays. This kid has got it good... I think to myself, smirking. "Stay away from him, he's dangerous." The man in my head told me. I was already walking towards Kyle when he talked to me. "But... Why?" I asked.
"Just stay away, don't get close to him. He's too powerful for you right now. He's dangerous!" The man replied. "But he's my friend, the first true friend I've had actually!" I snapped back at him. "Are you ok?" Kyle asked me. I hadn't realized but I didn't stop walking when I talked to the man in my mind. "O.. Oh! Yeah, I'm fine!" I replied.
Kyle
I gave Devin a worried look. I know he's obviously not ok... But, just now, he was talking to somebody. Does he have a friend like Jesus? But he's my friend, the first true friend I've had actually! Those words were said with anger and a hint of sadness. I couldn't help but be concerned...
He looked at me with a scared expression. I reached out my hand to him. "It's ok..." I said calmly and reached out my hand more to touch his face. But as soon as I touched his skin, a sharp pain flew to my head. I screamed in pain and fell to my knees, holding my head and hoping it would go away. My wings and golden glow came back almost instantly and my hair turned white. My hair wasn't the only new thing, my arms were glowing white. I lifted from the ground with my tiny wings.
Devin
I yelled in agony when Kyle changed. I only had a few seconds to look before I shut my eyes in pain. I saw wings... They were different from mine, though, they were... Small and fluffy. He had a bright, golden glow around him. Could he be.... An Angel?
"You stupid boy... I told you he's dangerous, you don't want to listen! This is what you get for being so ignorant!" The man scolded me.
I fell to the ground and curled up into a ball as I felt my powers grow strong. My wings popped out, bigger than before, and my skin had a tint of dark crimson to it. I floated up against my will and felt something new. It was at the bottom of my spine, a small tail that could wrap around my legs once. It was black and very sharp.
I looked in front of me, Kyle was staring at his arms like he's never seen them before... Maybe he hasn't seen his arms like that before! Oh man.... What'll those do to me? For the first time in a long time, I had experienced fear.
Kyle and I both stopped flying and fell to the ground. I felt my skin burn when we fell too close to each other. I crawled away but ran into someone. I looked behind me, it was that little girl from earlier! But... Why isn't she scared of me, shouldn't she be running away? Shouldn't she be afraid of me?! Doesn't she know I could burn her?!
I gave her a mean glare and she whipped her head towards me. She gave the the nastiest glare ever. "Don't look at me like that! You should have some respect for your sister! Tch!" She slapped me hard, "That's for earlier, scum!" My cheek felt hot and I felt it swell a little. Geez, how strong is this little girl!
She closed her eyes. Her skin had a light tint of pink as large, white bat wings and a pink tail, like mine but with a heart, grew out from the bottom of her spine. She opened her eyes again, which were completely white now, and smiled. She had little, sharp fangs. Her nails grew longer, they had a blood red color. Her previously white hair was now blood red like mine.
I gazed in astonishment. She felt really familiar, I know I've seen her before! I just can't remember when that was... She stared me in the eyes. "Do you seriously not remember me?" She asked angrily, "Not even now?!" I shook my head, no. She sighed sadly, "What kind of brother are you if you can't even remember your own sister.... YOU'RE THE WORST!!" She shouted and kneed my stomach. Even though it hurt, I knew she was holding back.
"Now that you're hurt, you won't interrupt my work." She flipped her hair and got into a fighting stance. "W...Wait! Don't hurt him!" I shouted as loud as I could. "Oh, don't worry. I won't hurt the white armed boy, I'm gonna hurt the man next to him. Once he's gone, you can love this filthy Angel all you want." She said to me, somewhat reassuringly. "Wh... Who are you talking about? There's no one there." I questioned. "Oh, don't worry... You'll see." She smirked darkly.
