/Chapter 9\ The Letter
I'm soooo sorry for the wait I truly am
:( but here's the new chapter :)
Aphmau and Aaron had no contact with anyone for at least 4 hours-or at least they thought it was, there was no way to keep track of time. When there was a knock on the cell bars it started to two people making them jump.
"You two, the king wants to see you know," the guard outside the door spoke, neither of them could make out the name of the person on the other side of the bars, but they shrugged off the mans identity and looked at each other agreeing silently.
"Okay, then take us," Aaron's spoke up sounding as angry as he could possibly be at the moment. The guard responded silently by nodding and then opened the door, and grabbing both of them roughly by the arm. Neither of them made and attempt to escape, they were too hungry and too tired. They sluggishly followed the guard down towards the throne room where they were greeted with a still angry King and a even more mad Laurance. No one said anything once the guards left the room everyone was to afraid to.
"So, Aphmau, care to explain why you're in your current predicament?" Asked the king sternly
"Why should I have to explain this to you? You threw us into the dungeon, I have no reason to tell you anything-even if you are my father," Aphmau replied coldly, not even a hint of sympathy or kindness left for her father.
"Because, I, as the king command you to, tell me or you will be punished for treason. This man your with has a striking resemblance to the leader of an enemy, so go on. Explain." Her father examined searching for an hint of kindness for him left in her face. Instead he found fear and determination
Aphmau gulped she was hoping that he wouldn't recognize Aaron "Well I-" Aphmau began but Aaron cut her off
"And if I was related to that leader what would you do to me? Execute me, I'm sure that would make Aphmau sad, and I'm sure she would become depressed, you wouldn't want that for your own daughter would you?" Aaron glared into the Kings eyes his composure not faltering, Aphmaus father glared back but with not as much anger, unlike Aaron his gaze faltered and he looked away at the last second. Aaron chuckled.
"Don't get me wrong, I love my daughter, but my kingdom is more important, so if you were that persons sons you would be executed, and Aphmau imprisoned for treason," the King explained, just then a guard came rushing through the door and started yelling
"Your majesty! You have a letter, its from the Falcon Claw kingdom!"
The king growled, stood up, and grabbed the letter forcefully from the guard. He tore it open and his eyes narrowed, throwing the letter to the ground, followed by a angry Laurance who narrowed his eyes at Aaron's as he walked past. Then Aphmau and Aaron's were left alone. Thinking quickly Aphmau darted for the letter and picked it up, she gasped at what it said.
"Dear The King of Phoenix Drop,
I have received information that your kingdom is keeping my son, the heir to the throne of the kingdom of Falcon Claw. If you do not hand him over in the next day, I will send an army to attack your castle, accept this warning and return my son to me immediately. Or there will be consequences.
Signed, The kind of Falcon Claw
Aaron read the letter over her shoulder and scowled "We have to get out of here, now," he turned around and headed for the door, but someone stood of to the side waiting for him.
"I'm going to help, I feel bad about letting this happen, but I've also brought a few friends to help as well, Lady Aphmau," out of the door frame came Garroth followed by Katelyn and a few others neither Aphmau or Aaron recognized.
"Don't worry, where all here to help." Garroth spoke "So let's get you guys out of here,"
