Sirius

Melisende had arrived at the black manor in morning. Walburga Black had treated her as if she was her long lost daughter which honestly made her throw up. There weren't much people present there which she was thankful for.

After desperately trying to free herself from Walburga, she and Regulus arrived at her supposed to be room for a week.

But what shocked her was that it was Sirius Black's room. Yeah she knew he was disowned but still she felt as if they had came to the wrong room. The manor was very big, sure there were other guest rooms right?

"Umm... Reg you sure this is my room?", she asked.

His eyes visibly darkened, over missing his brother or the fact that he left him in this hellhole, she didn't knew.

"Yes, mother wishes for you to stay here"

"Isn't it invading his privacy?", she asked as she opened the door only to find red, gold and muggle pictures everywhere, no doubt only to piss his parents. She applauded him mentally. Only if she had his guts!

"He doesn't even live here", Regulus replied with a raised eyebrow.

"I know that Reg", she replied in a duh tone, "And i promise i won't change anything".

"Do what you want, i don't think anyone gives a damn here", he said plopping himself on the armchair.

"Is that so? Common Reg, i know you come here when you feel lonely".

His head snapped towards her, his eyes narrowed.

"How do you know?", he demanded.

"Wow! You are not denying it, cause i honestly expected you to", she gasped dramatically.

"You know i never lie to you, anyway how did you guessed?"

She just pointed the letters on the corner of Sirius' desk.

They were no ordinary letters, they were written by Regulus, to Sirius. It was the only way he could complain, whine or throw a tantrum at his brother, who had left without giving a single thought.

She had seen him write those, pouring his frustration, anger and love into pieces of paper which his brother might never read.

Regulus sighed loudly. "No one comes here anymore, couldn't think of any better place to hide them", he said sarcastically.

No other would have guessed the pain in his voice, but she did. She knew him well enough to.

Taking a step she pulled him in a hug, resting his head on her stomach.

"He will come around Reg, he will".

_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-

After tossing and turning for like forever, Mel gave up. The bed was comfy, but she couldn't sleep. Why? She had no idea herself.

Maybe the fact that she was residing in the house of most loyal puppets of Voldermort, or the amount of things that had happened to her since the holidays began or simply the fact that she was in Sirius' room, who was disowned just because he was different and rather than hiding it like her he had shown the world who he was like a true Gryffindor.

Throwing the blanket off her, She made her way towards the bathroom. Maybe i can do some reading, she thought as she splashed water on her face. The whole bathroom was dark, only a tiny bit of light coming from the small window which made the faucet visible faintly.

Darkness has never bothered her and it never will.

A sound of rustling froze her, was someone in her room?

It seemed like someone was opening chests and drawers, but whom? Didn't they knew she was there?

Exiting the room quietly, she saw a figure crouched in front a chest. They had a thick binder in their hand as they attempted to close the chest as quietly as possible?

Was someone breaking in? In Black Manor?

"Excuse me?", she demanded.

The figure froze, but didn't seem much surprised. Of course they would have heard splashing when she was inside.

They gave out a loud sigh before turning around.

Melisende didn't knew if she was dreaming, shock displayed all over her face.

"Sirius?"

"Hey! I seriously had no idea you would be fool enough to be staying here. And i am really not surprised that they gave you my room", he replied coolly.

"Wh....What are you doing here?", she stuttered.

"This is really not a place to chat, someone could hear. Common follow me", he said poking his head out to check if the coast was clear.

Could her life get anymore weird?

He turned back again, raising a eyebrow silently asking if she was coming.

She nodded softly, without any thoughts. Sirius was her friend, well their relationship was not really the ideal one but she knew he would never hurt her. He maybe a bit crazy but he had a kind heart.

She passed the armchair, suddenly halting.

Regulus!

Was this a mere coincidence? Her eyes darted to the letters. Should she? Was it even her place?

"What's keeping you back?", Sirius whisper shouted.

She glanced at him, not wasting a second she grabbed the letters and stuffed them in her robe. Maybe she can at least mend one relationship.

She followed him through the hallways, walking on her tiptoes. Climbing a small staircase, which was all dusty they reached a door. He hastily opened it, praying it silently to not creak.

Roof? It is what he could think of?
He laughed at her expression, closing the door softly.

"Trust me no one comes here, you should have guessed by the dirt on the staircase", he whispered and sat at a random spot. Melisende followed suit.

"So what were you looking for, and at this hour of time?", she asked after a slight pause.

"Why were you awake at such an hour of time?", he mocked her jokingly.

A small smile broke on her lips as she looked at him. "Glad to see that you never change".

"The pleasure is all mine. Anyway James told me that you are finally past your differences and are friends. I honestly thought he was joking!".

"Yeah well, it kind of just happened you know, i didn't expect it either", she shrugged.

A comfortable silence followed.

Sirius pulled out the thick binder and passed it to her. She opened it carefully, surprised to find pictures inside. Everyone was present, some were only of Sirius and Reg, some of their whole family. Heck she was literally blown away to see Bellatrix and Rodoulphus in some, but with their stupid bitchy faces.

He pointed to a girl in one of the picture. "That's Andromeda, the sanest and my personal favourite cousin".

Mel took in the girl, she had the same black hair.

Melisende had heard about her, she was disowned because she married a muggle. She didn't see a objection in it, but obviouslt the others did. Mel mentally applauded her for sticking to her heart.

"I am staying with her this vacation, honestly i missed her so much i couldn't pass her invitation".

"She is expecting a baby, you know how sentimental they can get. She was talking about when we were young and others were a bit sane, you know, not lashing or sneering at us, at least considered us cousins. So i thought i could get her the album. I honestly didn't knew you were there, more like believing the fact that they didn't burned up my room", he joked.

"Yeah i found it fishy too that they gave me your room, but hey you don't deserve them. You deserve better. I would have done the same if i was in your shoes", she confronted him.

Sirius smiled softly.

"You would have seriously?"

"Yeah"

"Then why don't you?"

"What do you mean?", she asked confused.

"Common Rowle, i know your condition is much worse than mine"

She sucked in a breath. Looking at the sky she wondered the same.

"Because..... Because i don't have a choice".

"What choice?", he asked, his brows furrowed.

"Well you had James, Remus, Peter and your cousin Andromeda who could take you in. Who do i have? All my friends are sytherins and obviously i can't turn up at a muggle friend's house", she laughed bitterly.

Sirius felt bad for her, she was right she had no one to look her back. No one outside this pureblood shit, no one who seemed normal human being.

He suddenly felt utmost respect for her. She had been battling the same demons he had, maybe worse, all this time. He had choose to run away, while she was still fighting like a warrior, without crumbling, without being vulnerable.

There was so much more to Melisende than people thought, he just had read one page through the diary.
