Joey's POV

We ran through the forest and across the field as fast as we could, the monster not too far behind us. We quickly made it to the stables. Daniel and I's horses were outside grazing in a paddock just outside of the stables. I run to the paddock fence and scaled it. I ran to my horse and he ran to his. Once we mounted them bareback we realized the gate was closed.

Daniel- Joey! The gate is closed! We need to open it!

I glanced behind us and saw the monster, almost at the paddock.

Joey- Jump.

Daniel- What?!

Joey- DANIEL JUMP THE FENCE!

He looked nervously at the paddock fence that was at least one meter sixty, which is difficult to jump with a saddle and reins let alone without.

Daniel- But Joey! We're bareback! I can't jump that!

Joey- Daniel we have to!

I rode right at the fence and as it got closer I just kicked on. My eyes involuntarily closed as I felt the horse lift beneath me. A few moments later they open and I am safely on the other side of the fence and so is Daniel.

Daniel- Oh my gosh! I thought I was gonna die!

Joey- Well we aren't safe yet!

I exclaimed, looking back to see my monster twin only getting closer.

We quickly rode off through the forest in the direction of the coast.

Once we made it to the beach we saw a supply boat docked at the wharf. We dismounted and ran towards the boat, Daniel making sure he had the box. We hid behind a large crate of carrots and waited for the last courier to leave to boat before making a break for it.

Daniel's POV

We climbed on the decently sized ship and made our to the helm. We grabbed some of the supplies we would need from the crates and began to untie the boat.

X- HEY!

I whipped around to see the ship's captain behind me.

Captain- What are you doing here?

Daniel- Um.. I- I..

Joey came back to the helm after untying more of the ropes. The captain saw him.

Captain- Prince Joseph? What are you doing here?

Joey- I'm on an important mission as order of the King himself and I will be needing this boat and enough supplies to set sail for three days.

The captain didn't look entirely convinced but he wouldn't dare deny the Prince of Aedon.

Captain- Where are you setting sail your Majesty?

Joey- Romania.

Captain- That's a troublesome and dangerous trip Prince Joseph, are you sure?

Joey- Yes, I am very sure but we must make haste, it is very important.

Captain- Yes, I will go get you the supplies immediately.

We set up the map with a compass before he returned with various foods and a lot of water and a few other supplies.

Captain- Here you go your Highness, will you require myself to accompany you on the voyage.

Joey- That won't be necessary, I have studied on sailing since I was young.

Captain- Very well, I wish you luck Sire.

Joey- Thank you, we must be on our way now.

The captain left the boat and we untied the last rope and opened the mast so that the winds would pick us up and carry us on our journey.

A few hours later Joey was at the wheel and he said I could take a nap. I went into the aft which was located underneath the helm.

I could hear the sound of my Prince softly humming above deck as I drifted off into a slumber.

I woke to the sound of water splashing and the wind howling. I half sleepwalked out of the aft and to the upper deck. It was now morning, I guess I slept a bit longer than I planned to.

I was looking for Joey when I heard a fowl noise from the side of the boat. I walked over to see my poor love hurling over the side of the boat.

Daniel- Awe! Joey! You're seasick! 

Joey- No! I'm fine!

I gave him a 'I-know-you-are-lying' face and he sighed before puking once again.

I walked over to him and gave him a big hug to comfort my poor sick boy.

Daniel- Awe, my poor sweetheart.

I said with a pout.

After a few minutes of just hugging we walked back to the helm.

I looked at where we were according to the map and we had come quite far already, Joey must have been out here all night.

Daniel- Joey! Did you stay up sailing ALL night?!

Joey- Yeah.

Daniel- Why didn't you wake me up so you could have a rest?

He shrugged.

Joey- I don't like waking you up.

Daniel- Why not?

Joey- Because you look so cute when you are sleeping and I just wanted to give you kisses!

He grinned stupidly.

Daniel- Your such a silly goose.

I shook my head slightly laughing.

Daniel- Wait you kiss me when I'm asleep?

Joey- Yeah is that strange?

Daniel- No I do it to you as well I just didn't think normal people did it.

We laughed.

Joey- I don't really think I'm a great example of a 'normal' person.

Daniel- True.

Joey- Hey!

Daniel- What? You said it, not me.

I grinned and he lightly hit my chest, not enough for it to hurt.

I practically had to force Joey to go and take a rest. After a few hours the sky began to become cloudy and I could hear thunder in the distance.

I went down to see Joey because I know how afraid of storms he is. Once I got down there I found Joey shaking with fear, wrapped in all the blankets he could find.

Daniel- My poor baby.

I said pouting and cuddling up with the terrified boy.

Joey- Hey, don't call me- AH!

He squealed as another clap of thunder roared.

Daniel- Hey, it's alright, we're okay.

I comforted him, softly whispering sweet nothings in his ear.

I could feel the storm getting worse and I had to go up to the deck to check on everything.

It had been two whole days of awful stormy weather, that captain wasn't wrong.

I went up to the deck to check we were on course. Joey followed along behind me.

We looked around in the heavy downpour, already soaked to the skin. I was walking to the helm to check if our course was set and where we were when I saw something shiny in the water and I walked over to the edge.

Joey's POV

Daniel began to walk towards the edge of the boat and I was nervous because the storm was making the boat sway violently.

Joey- Danny? Daniel! What are you doing?! Don't go near the edge!

Daniel- I think I saw something in the water...

He walked a bit closer to it and I felt the boat rock again.

Joey- Danny, can you please come away from the edge?

Daniel- I swear I saw something...

He turned around to walk back toward me when the boat suddenly swayed violently and he lost his footing. He let out a scream as he slipped overboard and into the cold, harsh waves.

Joey- DANIEL!

I rushed over to the side of the boat and frantically looked over the edge, only to see nothing but deep navy ocean with crashing, foamy waves. There was no sigh of Daniel and I began to freak out.

Joey- Daniel? DANIEL?! NO, NO ,NO!

Suddenly I saw an enormous wave rise high above the boat and my life flashed before my eyes.

I saw the day Daniel arrived at the castle, I saw us going for a ride. I saw our first kiss on the mountain top. The time I took him to the market. When he opened up to me about his past, the time we danced together in the ballroom. The time he ran away and when he came back.

Everything I saw was of Daniel, because he is my entire life.

Before everything went black.
