Daniel's POV

Daniel- What? How did you do that?

Joey- Well it wasn't me, it was your bracelet!

Daniel- Well what's in it?

He laid the box down on the bed and took off the lid entirely. He put down the lid and we looked through the box.

Daniel- A piece of paper?

Joey- I don't kn- Danny! Look! It's a map!

Daniel- Where to?

Joey- It goes right from this kingdom, across the ocean, and to... Romania.

Daniel- Romania? Why Romania?

Joey- Look Danny, see these words on your bracelet?

He pulled up my wrist and pointed to to words inscribed into it in a foreign language. Te iubesc.

Joey- Danny, this means I love you... in Romanian.

Daniel- So the bracelet is from Romania?

Joey- Yes! and so is the box! This map is leading it home!

Daniel- Joey, we can't go to Romania. We've already been over this, you must be here and get married to princess Cat, become king and take over the kingdom.

Joey- But Daniel, this is your only chance to find out about your past, where you came from!

Daniel- I've gone this long without knowing Joey, it's not as important as you taking care of your people.

Joey- Wait there's a little note here...

He picked it up from underneath the large map and read the worn calligraphy aloud.

Joey- One day a king took his only son to a prophet where the prophet foretold a great danger shall come for the Prince. A monster that would seek to destroy all in it's path. The king did all in his power to keep his only heir safe. But the monster can only truly be stopped by the key which half is hidden in the heart of the Prince's kingdom. One day two hero's will journey to the kingdom to find the other half of the key and the monster will be destroyed forever. This box can only be unveiled by half of the key to defeating the evil, which you now hold in your hands.

Daniel- Wow...

Joey- Don't you see Danny!? The bracelet is half of the key! We have to go, this is an adventure!

He said excitedly jumping off the bed.

Daniel- No. Joey, this doesn't change anything. You can't go and deep down you know it.

His smile quickly subsided and he sighed flopping back down on the bed.

Joey- Yeah... you're right. But you can still go! Go Danny, this is your only chance to find out everything you've always wanted to know!

Daniel- Joey, I promised I would never leave you, and I'm still not going to. Not now, not ever. No matter what happens.

Joey- But-

Daniel- Joey. I'm staying.

I hummed as I strolled peacefully through the castle gardens. It was kind of nice just having some alone time to myself. It was now late in the evening.

I picked a few flowers and began weaving them into a pretty flower crown for my boy.

I suppose such deep peace and serenity can only last so long.

X- Servant!

I turn quickly, surprised to me met with the face of the King himself.

Daniel- Yes, your Majesty?

I say respectively and bow.

King- Well I told my son a while ago that I would allow him to be friends with you, but he must marry a princess.

Daniel- Yes your highness, I do believe I recall.

King- Well now that he has found a Princess you won't be needed anymore.

Daniel- What?!

King- You are to leave the castle immediately and never return.

Daniel- What? Why?! Sir-

King- Because I said!

I dropped the flowers as his booming voice rang out around the garden clearing.

King- You shall not get in the way of my son's marriage. I am finished with you and you are now longer needed.

Daniel- Bu-

King- NOW! Leave! Before my guards make you!

I quickly turned around and hurry through the gardens. The further I run the more tears slowly drip down my cheeks. I try to wipe them away but they just keep coming.

Once I am at the outskirts of the castle gardens I drop to my knees. I know I told Joey that everything would be okay but I didn't except to be threatened by the King himself to leave.

I sit there on the grass for who knows how long. The moon was slowly rising higher and higher. I just sit with tears trailing down my face uncontrollably. I don't bother trying to stop them. They were almost comforting. Reminding me I was still alive. But they also told me this wasn't a dream, this was no nightmare, this was real life. I'm never even going to get to say goodbye to Joey. He's going to think I just left him.

I somehow managed to bring myself to my feet and continue walking. I keep walking till a reach a secluded area at the very outskirts of the gardens where a gazebo stands, over looking the kingdom.

I stood back from the gazebo, realizing there was two silhouettes of people inside. Two familiar people. It was Joey and Cat. I hid behind a bush, in the darkness, before they saw me. I watched silently from behind.

I didn't mean to eavesdrop, it just kind of happened.

Cat- I'm really glad I met you Joey! I really like you a lot!

Joey- I- uh, like you- uh, also.

Joey said awkwardly.

The king was right, I'm no longer needed.

Tyler was right. Joey can't love me.

Everyone was right. I'm just in the way. There's no point in staying here.

Everything is too much, I just need to get out.

I run to the cliff above the river where me and Joey would always come in our youth. A secluded place clothed in endless memories from throughout the years. All the amazing things we did, all the things we said, all the ways we loved.

I'll miss those memories.

Third person's POV

Daniel stood by the cliff, just looking out over the river far, far below.

He was about the take another step forwards when he heard a familiar voice behind him.

X- Daniel! What are you doing?!

Daniel still didn't turn away from the cliff.

Daniel- What does it look like?!

Daniel shouted and the boy ran towards him and the edge.

X- There's no need to be rash Danny. Come away from there.

Daniel finally turned to face the other boy and he saw the tears running down his cheeks, leaking from Daniel's bloodshot eyes.

Daniel- I have to do this, you were right. The king was just using me.

Daniel said quietly, stepping backwards slightly before continuing.

Daniel- You were right! Are you happy now?! You were right about everything! Joey can't love me but I will never love you. Tyler.

Tyler- You're not going to jump. You haven't got the guts and you know your precious lover boy would miss you too much!

Daniel- Why of all people are you trying to talk me out of this?

Tyler- Because you WILL love me!

Daniel- I will never love you.

He said quietly. Tyler reached out and pulled Daniel back from the edge slightly.

Daniel- I love Joey, not you! Get over it!

Tyler- Well then I will just have to kill you precious Prince and become king myself! Then I WILL make you love me!

Daniel- You wouldn't dare touch him!

Tyler- Well Danny, if you jump, you won't be able to stop me!

Daniel- I won't let you hurt the only person I love!

Tyler- I WILL BE KING AND THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO TO STOP ME!!!

Daniel- ENOUGH!

Suddenly a boy's hands were pressed onto the others chest and the boy slipped over the edge at the sudden, unexpected impact. They tumbled far down into the river below, disappearing into the abyss.

Daniel's POV

I just pushed Tyler off a cliff.
