~Two years later. Joey is now 17 and Daniel is now 16~

Third person's POV

Daniel- I'm going to beat you!

Joey- In you dreams!

Joey was almost at the top and Daniel was right behind him when Joey's foot slipped on a branch and he was now inches from falling. The only thing keeping him from falling far down to the ground below was Daniel's hand connected with his own.

Daniel- You good there Joseph?

Joey- Yes, I'm fine!

Daniel- Sure, sure.

He laughed before pulling Joey towards him and onto the strong branch he was standing on. They sat down on it side by side and looked over the kingdom below.

Joey- I always find it so interesting to look down at the kingdom. All the people living there own lives. Everyone so undoubtedly different yet all classed the same.

Daniel thought about what Joey said and he remember the life he had left behind. To be a regular villager. To live his life without much purpose or thought to a different life. That used to be him, always scavenging for food and shelter, just trying to get by. He thought about his life for the past two years and how each and everyday his and Joey's love had only grown. They never had serious fights on petty things and how great his life was. He was untouchable. But such serenity can only last so long.

The pair stayed there for several hours, talking about anything and everything. After a long time Joey knew they needed to head back to the castle so Daniel could finish his jobs and Joey could do his studies.

Once back to the castle they were outside in the garden when Jerold came to find them.

Joey's POV

Jerold- Prince Joseph! The king is looking for you. He has some important things to discuss with you.

Joey- Do you know what about?

Jerold- No your Majesty but I suggest you hurry or else he's going to come looking for you, he is currently in the throne room.

Joey- Alright, thanks Jerold. Daniel you can keep doing your chores, I don't know when I'll be done talking to father but when I am I will come and find you.

Daniel- Okay, see you later.

I make my way to the throne room to see what my father wants, hopefully it won't take long.

Joey- Father, you wanted to see me?

King- Yes Joseph, sit down, we have very important things to discuss.

I sat down and he continued talking to me, although it was my father so it was more talking at me.

King- So Joseph as you know you are the Prince and so soon you will be taking over the throne and becoming king.

Joey- Yes father I know, you tell me that everyday.

King- But now it's time for you to really start preparing. To be king you must be married. Since I am not just the king, I am also your father I have decided instead of choosing someone for you I am allowing you to choose. But I must be a princess so your mother and I will begin introducing you to many suitable princesses from neighboring kingdoms to begin courting as of tomorrow.

Joey- Courting?! Princesses?! I'm going to be introduced to lots of snobby princesses from all over the land all trying to woo me! Why me? Ahhh this is a disaster!

Daniel- Calm down Joey, your being over dramatic.

Joey- You're right Daniel! I'm going to meet a beautiful princess and we're going to fall deeply in love and have lots of children and happily rule the kingdom for generations!

I said sarcastically.

Daniel- I see your point.

Joey- I just don't know what i'm going to do!

Daniel- Well the king said he would let you choose who you want to marry right? Why don't you just deny all of them and tell the king you're waiting for just the right person?

Joey- That could work, I just don't know how long it will last, but I suppose any expansion on the inevitable is good.

Daniel- Yeah, well let's just ignore all of that serious stuff for now and just enjoy our time together?

Joey- Now that sounds like a plan.
