Daniel's POV

Daniel- Wow look at this, it's so cool in here!

I shouted back to Joey as I looked around the large cave/tunnel hidden behind the waterfall.

Joey- Oh my gosh, you're right! This is magical!

I saw a glimpse of a mystical blue glow fragmented with hints of green coming from further down the tunnel.

Daniel- What is that? Can you see that blue and green glow down there?

Joey- Yeah I can see it, I have no idea what it is. We should go check it out!

Daniel- Are you sure Joey? It could be dangerous.

Joey- Look who's being the sissy now.

He said laughing.

Daniel- Well I suppose you're right. Let's go have a look at it.

We followed the light and headed further into the tunnel. We walked cautiously in the dim light for about ten minutes before I started to notice small, very old looking etchings on the walls.

Daniel- What are all these marks on the walls?

Joey- I think they're drawings. Wow they look so old, I wonder how they got here.

We stopped and took a closer look at the drawings. It was of two people lightly scratched into the surface of the rock. They were very simple and had almost no detail, almost like stick figures. In the first one they were walking, the second one they had joined hands and in the third one they were kissing. I assume they must have been lovers.

Joey- These are so beautiful.

Daniel- I agree.

Joey- What do you think it means?

Daniel- I don't know let's keep looking, there's more drawings.

We moved farther along to look at the next set.

Joey- It's still the two lovers. In this one they are riding horses and I think they are climbing a tree here?

Daniel- And look, in the last one they're holding some box. I wonder if these were real people.

Joey- I've heard of drawings like this before, apparently the show snippets of the foretold future.

Daniel- That's so cool! Oh wait there's another set down here.

The last three drawings showed the same two figures again. In the first they were on a boat, the second it looked like they were fighting something and the third it looked like they were kissing again, just like before except this time there were small little things on both of their heads. I assumed they were crowns.

Joey- I looks like they're fighting something here but I don't know what.

Daniel- Me neither and are these crowns on their heads?

Joey- Yes, I would say so.

Daniel- This is incredible and so magical.

Joey- It is but I still want to know what that weird light is. It's still there!

Daniel- Well then c'mon!

We started moving quicker down the tunnel as the light got brighter. Leaving the etchings behind in pursuit of the light's source. Once we finally made it to what seemed to be the end of the tunnel we turned a corner and suddenly ended up in a big open cavern absolutely filled with blue and green glowing crystals sticking out of the cavern walls.

Joey- Oh my gosh, crystals! I love crystals and they're glowing!

Daniel- This is actually magical! Like real life magic!

Joey was stuck in a trance gazing at all the beautiful glowing crystals when I noticed something in the middle of the cavern. It looked like a small wooden box of some sort, atop a pedestal. 

Daniel- Hey Joey, what's that over there?

I said catching his attention and pointing to where the box stood.

Joey- I think it's some kind of box or something. 

We walked towards it. Once we were closer I could see the intricate patterns carved into the exterior of the wood. It also had two little indents in the side that looked kind of like a keyhole.

Joey- Oh it's so pretty.

He reached out to touch it.

Daniel- NO! Don't touch it Joey, you don't know what might happen!

Joey- Calm down Daniel. Nothings going to happen if I touch it, watch.

He continued reaching forward until his fingers gently made contact with the box. I'll be honest, I was definitely expecting the whole cavern to cave in but nothing happened. He tried to lift off the lid but it didn't budge.

Joey- See, told you nothing would happen but it must be locked shut. I'm going to pick it up, we can take it with us to try and figure out.

I wasn't too sure about this.

Daniel- Okay but if you cause the whole cavern to crumble down and bury us alive it was your idea, not mine.

He carefully lifted it up off the pedestal and again nothing happened, he grinned at me.

Joey- I told you so.

Daniel- Yeah, okay but let's just get out of this cave before we somehow get trapped because it's what usually happens in situations like this.

Joey- Yeah you're right, let's go.

We made our way out of the crystal filled cavern, Joey holding the small box, and back into the main tunnel. We walked for awhile before we passed the ancient drawings once again.

Joey- Hey look, the box in the drawing looks just like the one I'm holding.

Daniel- Oh you're right, it does. Probably means the cave wants you to give it back.

I said laughing.

Joey- Or it means we should take it so we can figure it out and the rest of the story in the drawings can play out.

Daniel- You really believe that they are foretelling the future?

Joey- Yeah, why not. These are ancient and have been here for like decades, maybe even centuries and the legends have often spoke of drawings like these.

Daniel- I suppose you are right. I hope it comes true, those lovers look so well, in love.

Joey- They do. Well let's get outta here!

Once we finally made it back to the entrance behind the waterfall. We climbed down from the ledge and walked back over to the edge of the mountain where his horse was. 

Joey- Oh look, it's sunset. The day has gone by so quickly.

I looked out over the land that stretched for miles in every direction and then up at the sky. The sunset caused the sky to be painted with a beautiful canvas of pinks and oranges. I looked back at Joey as we stood over by the edge with the river below us, his perfect skin dusted with a soft glow from the setting sun. His shining green with hints of ocean blue eyes seemed to glow in the dim light and he smiled his gorgeous smile. I then flickered my eyes back to the sunset to stop myself from staring at him.

Daniel- Wow. This view is truly so beautiful.

Joey- Yeah, it is.

I continued looking out over the incredible view, taking in the beauty of the amazing sunset.

Daniel- I think this must be the most beautiful thing I have ever seen before.

Joey- Me too.

Joey's POV

He thought I was talking about the sunset and even though it sure was beautiful, I was really talking about him. I have truly never seen such a beautiful sight before. The soft golden glow of the sunset was coating his face, making his gorgeous features stand out even more. Especially his perfect, green eyes. I can't do it anymore! My want, my need for him is just too strong. The atmosphere is so beautiful, the view, the sunset and him here with me. I grasp onto his hand with one of mine and intertwining our fingers. He turns to me, looking me in the eyes. I lean forward, cupping his cheek with my other hand and kiss him.

Daniel's POV 

I can't believe Joey, the Prince, just kissed me on a mountain top.

(A/N: Merry Christmas!! Hope the Janiel kiss was a good present! Boring chapter, I know but this was all important information and at least it had a good ending maybe? I promise that the chapters will hopefully get more interesting from here on out, I just needed them to get through the awkward 'friend zone' before I could really get the ball rolling.
