Forbidden Chapter Four
First off, I just want to say one thing.
Thank all of you.
As I stated in my last Chapter, I've been having some personal problems that have left me feeling extremely Unmotivated, Drained, and Lacking All Energy in general. Because of that, it's left me unwilling to update any of my stories, and instead left me on my Bed reading and listening to every depressing thing you can think of. I forced myself to stay away from WattPad so I wouldn't write or say anything depressing to make all of you worry more than needed.
But, instead of complaining, you all understood and told me to take my time. One User even took the time to PM me and tell me their own words of support in decently long paragraphs.
And I just want to tell all of you how much that means to me.
I'm EXTREMELY lucky to have Readers that are so understanding and kind and believe me when I say that I'm so thankful that all of you waited patiently for the next chapter instead of being impatient, and PMing and Commenting said Impatience frequently. Again, thank all of you so much!
But NOW! I'm back, and feeling better than ever!
So let's get this Chapter started!!! You've all waited patiently for Leo, and now I'm giving him to you!!!
===========================================
Leo sighed for the Billionth Time that day, literally facepalming as he listened to Odin ramble on about the Whispering Darkness that chose him when he was born, how it made his Aching Blood ache twice as much, and other nonsense like that. Pinching the bridge of his nose as Odin continued on and on, he then heard his Street-Raised, Flirty Retainer, Niles began to speak.
"Odin, we didn't get summoned here for you to be a fucking weirdo."
Odin gasped in a form of offense and hurt, a frown making its way onto his features as he began yelling at Niles in his Overdramatic Ways, making Niles audibly groan in Frustration. Before this could escalate any further than it needed to go, Leo quickly spoke up, which thankfully silenced both of his retainers.
"I have Orders for the both of you."
Niles raised an eyebrow at Odin as said male quickly bowed, looking up at Leo as he rested on one knee. "Anything for you, My Lordship! Simply state who needs to be put under the Curse of Greatest Misery, and it shall be done! Name who needs to be placed under--" Leo sighed loudly, already starting to become worn out by Odin's Dramatic Ramblings. Speaking up before Odin could again, he hung his head slightly. "That won't be necessary, Odin. I've been given Orders by my Father to check the Alliance of all the Towns and Cities in Nohr, seeing who their Loyalty is with. Due to the large size of the Kingdom of Nohr, I'm going to need you two to help me with this. I know this sounds uneventful, and it is..." Leo became silent for a few moments, remembering the painful strike to his face the previous night. Mentally forcing the thoughts away, he looked at both of his Retainers, not at all noting the small look of concern in their eyes.
"But I still need your assistance. I'm sending both of you to Nestra. I understand that this is a City that sides with neither Hoshido or Nohr, but there may be Hoshidans there that wish to plot an attack against my Father. If there are any Hoshidan Scoundrels there, and you meet them, I wish for you to put an end to them. Understood?"
Niles and Odin both nodded, but Niles spoke up before Leo could dismiss them. "And where will you be going, if I may be so bold to ask?"
A quiet sigh left Leo's slightly chapped lips, and he looked Niles directly in the eyes. "I'll be scouting out the Mountains. It... Occurred to me that maybe some Hoshidan's could be taking root up there. Yes, I will be going by myself. Nestra is a big enough place already, you two are going to get it done quicker with you both being there." Without any other words, Leo began to walk off, but he stopped suddenly after a few steps. He spoke again, but this time, in an Angry, Hissing Manner.
"And if you see the woman that used to be my Sister... Kill her. You both are dismissed."
Niles and Odin both watched with Wide Eyes as Leo quickly walked away, the pair exchanging looks as their Superior left them alone in that giant hallway.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's been 2 Hours since Leo and his Retainers left the Castle, off to complete King Garon's Orders. As Leo told them to do, Niles and Odin immediately embarked to Nestra as soon as they left, and Leo had no doubts that they were probably already there by now. However, Leo did feel a tad bit guilty. He told Niles and Odin that he was scouting the Mountains for any Hoshidan Forces that could be taking camp up there, but he lied. Sure, he was going to the mountains, but not for the reasons that he told them. He hated lying to them, but he didn't have much of a choice. Not only could he not risk someone like Iago overhearing his actual intentions, but he knew not a single person would believe him if he said he was off to find a Dragon that cured him of not only a Mortal Wound but also his Corrupted, Dark Thoughts. Not a single Soul would believe him. For God's Sake, Leo barely believed himself that the incident happened, still thinking at times that it was all a Confusing Dream.
Leo's Horse walked forward at a Calming, Slow, yet Steady Pace. Leo's Gloved, Armored Fingers ran over the slightly aged, yet flawless Pages of Brynhildr, the words that were carefully written inside by Mystic Ink seemed like a Useless Language to others, but to Leo, they were numerous names and words for Spells, like a Tiny World that only he could see and understand. He was allowing his horse to follow the path on its own instinct, simply enjoying the slow pace of weaving through Large Oak Trees that littered the mountainside he was on. He let out a small sigh before slamming Brynhildr closed, allowing his right hand that held the Spelltome to fall to his side, never letting the book fall from his grip. A frown slowly etched its way onto his usually stoical features as his mind once again wandered to the events of the previous night. His eyes cast up towards to the sky, taking in the pale gray that made up each individual cloud, watching as the sun was once again absent in the Sky, leaving the earth around him bathed in what seemed like a sickly purple color.
The Sick, Repulsing Feeling of Guilt wrapped its way around Leo's Heart again as he grimaced from the feeling, allowing his head to hang low once again. His Father blamed him for his Sister joining the Hoshidan's Last Night, and Leo honestly didn't blame him. Although he cared for Corrin deeply, the thought of raising an Aggressive Hand towards her making him physically hurt, but Leo was never one to show emotion. So perhaps, in Corrin's Eyes, he was someone who just despised her. Someone who was just an Observer, never Voicing anything but instead sticking his nose in a book and shutting everything out. As much as he teased her, he really only ever got along with Elise. Xander was Garon's Eldest and most Treasured Son since he was the Inheriter of the Throne, automatically gaining favor over Garon when his words came into play, leaving his Siblings in the dust. Camilla was the Mother that Corrin never had, constantly doting over her because Camilla felt bad for the girl, her Dark Past reminding Camilla of her own. Elise was the Young Girl who brought all the light that was missing from Nohr back into the Kingdom, and she was the one who, despite Leo's Stubborn and Quiet Attitude, broke through all of that and connected with the man on a much more personal level. While Leo certainly envied Corrin because of all the Attention Xander, Camilla, and Elise gave her, Elise always was the one to make time for Leo, and it most certainly brought a smile to his face every once in awhile.
A Sigh suddenly erupted from Leo's Throat, causing his horse to twitch its ears in slight surprise. While reaching up to rub his neck to hopefully ease the slight aching that had crept its way upon him, his gloved fingers accidentally brushed over his cheek and he visibly flinched, but he sighed, mentally reminding himself that his hand wasn't his Father's, returning to attempt to massage away the ache in his neck. Suddenly, his Horse stopped with an Uncomfortable Snort, Pawing its Hoof as its way of refusing to go forward. Unlike Most Horse Riders, who would scold the Beast and Force it to go forward, Leo knew his Battle Companion. He knew whenever something forced his Horse to come to a stop, it was for a good reason. Narrowing his eyes, he looked around, his Pale Purple Eyes glazing over with both Malice and Suspicion. Gripping Brynhildr in his Right Hand tightly, he raised it up to his side and allowed the Cover to fall open, the pages beginning to turn wildly as Dark Magic began to flow through Leo's Very Being, causing a Surge of Power to heighten his Adrenaline greatly.
His eyes widened as he saw an Arrow begin to fly towards him, but due to his heightened Combat Abilities on Horseback, he was able to quickly command his Horse to the side in the form of a Dodge, and he sent a Dark, Vortex-Like Spell towards where the Arrow came from, causing the spell to suck in some of the branches that surrounded him. Clenching his fist, he forced the Vortex to come to an end, causing whoever assailed him to fall to the ground, out of the Vortex.
Leo's Eyes Widened in Surprise as he saw a Misty Form of a Human fall to the ground lifelessly, taking on the Form of a Hoshidan Sniper. His Wide-Eyed, Bewildered Expression quickly twisted into a Confused Frown, his head snapping in different directions as he wildly looked around. He was used to fighting Enemies that had Flesh. A Transparent Enemy... It was just unheard of. His head whipped to his right as he heard a Heavy-Sounding Noise, causing his eyes to narrow as his heart sped up. Noticing the Noises were coming from the Top of the Peak that he was nearing, he clutched Brynhilder tightly. Grabbing the Reins of his Horse, he had it turn towards the direction of the Heavy Noises that were coming regularly now, spurring it gently so it would walk forward at a cautious pace. Snorting as it began walking, the sounds of its Hoofs hitting the Dirt also echoed around Leo, along with the somewhat loud noises.
Frowning once more, Leo's Grip on the Reins tightened as he followed the Loud Noises that seemed to Silence the Forest itself.
This one wasn't as long as I would've liked... But I got big plans for the next chapter! Stiicckk Around! Again, thank you all for your Support, it really does mean a lot to me! :D
