7. My Girl
•••
I
watch him play after being done with my job earlier, relaxing on the sofa but hearing him rage over the game in a quieter voice than earlier.
"F*ck..." he sighs and puts his controller down as the game match came to an end, and I notice him grab his phone, lazing the controller on one thigh. I do not focus on him but take my phone as well, not knowing what else to do.
The sound of his phone touching the sofa does not catch my attention more than that, but I look back at the screen once he gets hold of the controller.
He clears his throat, but a pillow gets thrown in my face for no reason. "Are you still mad?"
I get this away from me and glare at this stupid boy. "Are you serious?"
He does not make eye contact, and I send the pillow back at him, but he catches it and use it to have something to hug.
"I'm sorry for calling you a bitch..." he apologizes for what I already forgot, and I fix my eyes on him, not believing what he just said. I remain silent, and after a few seconds, he peeks at me. "Even if you're a little bit of—" my feet kicks his thigh before he could finish his sentence, and he giggles. "I'm joking."
"I apologize for your nuts then," I attempt to keep my smile to myself, but once he looks at me and that I raise my eyes up, we both make eye contact. "Thanks, but I lost one because of you," his answer gets me to laugh against my will. "Oh, I'm sure you don't need both of them."
"Maybe, but that already didn't look great with both, so I can't imagine if one of missing," he takes this seriously, surely just to make me laugh, and I shake my head. "Are we really talking about this right now?"
"Yeah...I'm shy, let's not talk about this area so casually," he pretends to not be confident enough, and I grin out of amusement before looking back at my phone.
- Two days later -
The door opens, but I get greeted by a girl. Who the hell is that? What is she doing in my brother's house?
"Hello, nice to meet you. You're Y/N, right?" she talks in a honeyed voice to make me come in as if I was entering her house. "Who are you?" I rudely ask her. I don't have the time or the mood to be kind with this person.
"She's my girlfriend. Remember?" Jungkook chimes in and wraps his arm around her waist while looking at me with a smile.
I shouldn't be bothered by that but why am I? Dammit. "She has no right to be in my brother's house."
"I asked him, and there's no problem with it," he responds. "Good," I walk by him and go away to get ready to do my job that I think will be tougher like it has never been yet.
•••
Once I get out of my room, I stumble upon them both sitting on the couch, Jungkook keeping his hand on the girl's thigh. I don't even want to stay for a single second in here and see them. Even if I kind of like him for whatever reason, I just deny it and lie to myself. He enjoyed playing with me, and that's really something that I can't bear. From now on, I'm just going to ignore him.
I wander my eyes everywhere else but on them and just do the dishes.
"Y/N?" a female voice calls me from behind. "Yes," I answer under my breath. "Is that yours?" she asks me.
I turn around to take a look at what she's talking about but fall upon something that my heart just can't handle. Jungkook is caressing her thigh with his large hand, positioned with an arm around her neck to hold her hand with intertwined fingers while he's kissing her cheek. This shouldn't hurt me so much, but it is.
Why is he sometimes peeking at me as if he was doing it just to disgust me?
"...hello?" the girl snaps me out of my thoughts. "Yeah...?" I stop focusing on what is torturing me "Uhm...no...It's the bracelet of my brother."
"Oh, okay," she simply responds and puts the jewelry back on the table. I don't lose any time but go back to my stuff.
I keep on hearing those disgusting smooching sounds behind me, I'm going to go berserk. It's seriously getting on my nerves to hear them kiss while I'm here, being a freaking poor maid for those people who I don't even know or care about.
I stop what I'm doing and hurry to take hold of my phone to walk out of the apartment house. I stay in the corridor to call Yoongi.
"Hello?" he answers at the other side. "Yoongi, can I clean your house tomorrow, please? Don't pay me, it's fine, but I'm...I'm tired today..." I use as a pretext to leave.
"Yeah. It's all right, my little angel, but are you okay? Your voice seems weird..." he asks me, a bit concerned, feeling that something is not right. "Yes, don't worry. I'm just tired..."
"Okay, fine. Take care of you, but have you told Jungkook about it?"
"No, but since he's with his girlfriend, he do-"
"His girlfriend?" he surprisingly asks me. "Yeah...he said that he told you he was with his girlfriend today..." I tell him, expecting it to be obvious when it doesn't seem like it. "Uhm...No, he never told me about this, and from what I know, he doesn't have a girlfriend, but well...Okay."
Wait. Did he freaking lie to me? He never told anything to my brother? This piece of shit. "All right...I need to hang up. See you, Yoongi."
"See you and take care," he tells me, before ending the call. I get back inside the house but cannot believe what I'm seeing. Jungkook is on top of her, staring at me with shock. This is freaking ridiculous.
I act as if I didn't see anything and hurry to reach Yoongi's bedroom to retrieve all my stuff and leave.
"What are you doing?" the man's voice echoes through the space while I'm heading toward the front door with haste. "I have important things to do," I utter in a low voice and unwavering one. "But you didn't even stay for five minutes," he keeps on talking.
I don't let any sound go out of my mouth but pass by the door to leave and walk back to my house after only ten minutes of work. I can't handle that behavior just right in front of my eyes, I get easily worked up, so I would rather not stay there with those people who give no damn about me, that man who freaking lied to me and didn't even respect the fact that it's not his house, and that he doesn't have the right to do what he wants with whoever he wants there.
- Four days later -
"What were you doing all this time?" the man greets me after a long absence. I walk in and put my stuff down. "I was busy."
"I kind of missed you, you know," he smiles, unaware of my mood.
"Cool. I didn't," I don't look at him but walk towards the bedroom of my brother. A hand grabs my wrist and pulls me back. "Why are you so much more rude since I told you I have a girlfriend?"
"I'm like that every day, and next time you dare to lie to me by telling me that you had the permission given by my brother when it's not even true, I fucking throw you out of this house," I try to set myself free from his hold. "Why are you reacting like that?"
"Let me go," I try to push his hand away from me, but he's too strong for the weak person I am. "You're unbelievable," he chuckles and releases his grip.
I go to the bedroom and do my stuff as usual.

After some time, I go out and join the living room. I have a lot to do since I haven't come here for four days. Jungkook is keeping his eyes on me, following each of my movements when this is disturbing me.
"Are you mad at me?" he breaks the silence that was remaining between us. "I'm just here to do my job for my brother."
"I miss hearing your voice, complaining and insulting me," he continues, his grin still on his face. Why is he smiling?
"Why are you ignoring me?" he asks, not determined to just keep quiet and do something else other than bugging me. "I'm sure you're jealous. Am I wrong? It all started when I talked to you about my girlfriend," he lies down on his side and puts his elbow on the sofa, watching me clean the floor. "Why did you leave after only five minutes and came back way longer after?"
I let the room remain quiet after his questions, but he never ceases. "Y/N, talk to me."
I sigh sharply and glare at him. He's getting on my nerves, and I'm sure he's doing it on purpose. I don't give in but get to the coffee table to pass the dishcloth on it, which is, to my greatest surprise, not too dirty.
"Hey," he leaves his spot and gets on the floor to sit down at the other side of the table, in front of me to be face to face.
"You're cute," his words reach my heart to stab it violently. I keep calm and just act normal to not show him it affects me. "I love the shape of your naturally red lips," he places both of his elbows on the flat surface made of glass to rest his head in his hands that are forming a 'v', and he just stares at me.
It's starting to seriously make me more than annoyed the fact that he's enjoying his game with me, complimenting me, and toying with my feelings and weak self.
The only reason why I'm acting rude with him is just because I was scared to fall in love with him, but I guess that didn't work. It's like, I hate him but like him, I don't even understand my own body and emotions.
"Can I have your lips? Or your eyes, your eyes are cute too," he adds a layer of compliments again. "Oh...wait..." he moves his head down and tilts it as if he noticed something weird on my face.
"You have something on your cheek," he bends over and approaches me, making my pulse accelerate. "Don't move."
He slides onto the wooden floor to make the round of the table and get on my left. I don't pay attention to him or what he's doing, but his chest touches my arm as he's leaned towards me.
"Look here for a second," he tells me to make me turn my head, but I don't. "What? Are you going to say there's a spider on my face? Uh?" I let out irritated. "No."
"Just go away," I utter and enlarge the distance between us, but he abruptly inclines his figure in my direction and presses his lips on my cheek.
"That was just my lips," softly runs out of his mouth, and he goes back on his sofa.
I hate him so much.
"I told you not to touch me," I give him an angry look. "Why are you blushing again?" he proudly says. He knows that every little touch and things that he does to me will make me go red, but it's not the same as before, I don't feel anything anymore. Or yes I do. Pain. "You like playing with girls when you have a girlfriend?"
"Girlfriend? Who?"
"Stop taking me for a damn fool and respect the person who loves the jerk you are. You don't even care about her, do you?"
"I don't have any girlfriend. She was just a friend of my brother, and we both acted to see if that would make you react, which worked," he chuckles. Did he just admit that he had fun lying to me and playing with me? Or is he lying again?
"Oh yeah, and you kiss your friend, is that it?" I don't believe in his words.
"I never kissed her, just the cheek, and I didn't feel anything, but neither did she because there is a guy that she loves," he grins, very happy of what he did. "You find this funny?"
"Not funny, but your reaction was better than I would have expected it to be. You're jealous."
"Stop freaking saying that I'm jealous! I'm not!" I throw the dishcloth on the coffee table and walk away.
I rush to the bathroom.
I can't deal with those things traveling through my veins and body when he kisses me or touches me. I'm even happy about the fact that he doesn't have a girlfriend? Dammit, I'm too much of a weak girl. I need to fight those emotions but not give him that previous thing of mine, my heart, my love, I am not going to like him, I can't or else I know I'll be broken.
I get out once I catch back a normal color on my face. Jungkook darts his eyes towards me with a large smile, but I hurry to avert him and walk towards the coffee table to collect the dishcloth and the products.
"I thought about you this morning while shopping," he voices out. "I bought some strawberries."
I look up at him at the sound of 'strawberries'. As if he had bought something just for me.
"Stop trying to buy me," I tell him, not wanting to succumb just for a red fruit. "I'm not, but I asked your brother what kind of food you like, and I wanted to buy something for you. So I took delicious strawberries, and I can tell you, that was expensive for my wallet..."
"Why did you do that...?" I ask, wondering why this sudden attention. "I...kinda felt bad..." he tilts his head, but a shy smile grows on his face.
Shy? Him?
"And why?" I gaze at him, stopping my actions to put my eyes on his surprisingly timid self. "After what I did...I wouldn't have expected you to react like that..."
"The only thing you did was to disgust me," I end up finishing in the kitchen to make the dishes. "Disgust you...?"
"Yeah...Whatever..." I avoid the subject. He doesn't talk or respond anymore, but some noises of movements can be heard.
In short seconds, he places his hand on my lower back before positioning himself behind me, back hugging me, tightly, with his arms around my waist. A hard gulp passes down my throat, and my heart races. I shouldn't have those kinds of reactions.
