Chapter 9

"Oh, come on, Hermione," I groaned.

"No," she said simply continuing her book. "His head is getting too big for his shoulders and until it shrinks back to its original size."

"But you love him," I joked.

She blushed but covered her face with her book so I wouldn't see. "Why is it you always say that? It's not true."

"Then tell me why you are blushing?" I asked pulling on my brown leathery looking shoes.

"B-because, I'm embarrassed about being your friend," she stuttered.

"No one is embarrassed to be my friend," I chuckled. "I've got to go eat before the game. You'll come to it, right?"

Hermione nodded from behind the book.

"Okay, see you in the stands," I told her, before skipping out of the room.

I stopped skipping once I got into the common room, just walking  the rest of the way down to breakfast.

"Hello, boys," I sang sitting down next to Harry and across from Ron. "Damn, Ron you look like shit."

"Mm," he mumbled.

"Jeez, why are you so nervous? You played last year," I noted grabbing a hash brown and taking a bite.

"Mm," he whimpered.

"Well then," I whispered, taking another bite out of the hash brown. "Sooo, what's good in the hood?"

Ron continued to stare at his surprisingly empty plate, and when I looked over at Harry, he gave me a smirk.

'What?' I mouthed.

He gave me a wink and turned to Ron.

"Ron, you have to eat something," he reasoned.

"Mm."

"How about something to drink?" Harry suggested. "Tea? Coffee? Pumpkin Juice?"

"Anything," Ron answered.

"And it speaks!" I chuckled loudly, causing a few people to look over at me.

As Harry poured Ron a class of pumpkin juice, Lavender Grinch Brown came over.

"Good luck, Ron," she said. "I know you'll brilliant."

Before she headed over to her spot at the table, she gave me a small smile and a nod. Did we make a truce last year? Wow, I seriously have no recollection.

"Here," Harry said handing Ron his drink.

"Ron, don't drink that!" Hermione's voice warned.

I turned to my left to see Hermione taking her seat next to me.

"Why?" Ron questioned taking the drink.

"Because," she started, "Harry put something in it. Look he's got it in his hand!"

She starred at Harry in total shock.

"I dunno what you're talking about, Hermione," Harry lied, putting the liquid luck bottle into his pocket.

"Ron don't drink it!" Hermione hissed. "You should be expelled, Harry!"

"Coming from you Miss. Confundous Charm," Harry retorted with a smirk.

Hermione blushed furiously. "That's different. Ron, don't!"

"Stop telling me what to do, Hermione," Ron said with slight giddiness, also seeing that Harry had put away the liquid luck bottle.

He grasped the goblet tightly and raised it to his lips before chugging the whole thing. Then he put the goblet down with a huge grin on his face.

"Come on you two," he said with liveliness. "We got a game to win."

He hopped off the bench and began to walk out of the hall. But halfway there, he stopped before turning around and coming back over to us where he grabbed a sausage. He took a huge bite out of the sausage and toothlessly smiled at us.

"Otay whets whoe ow," he mumbled through his stuffed mouth.

Harry flashed a smile at the two of us. Well, someone's in a good mood for a change.

"You coming, Bella?" Harry asked.

"I'll meet you there."

He nodded and followed Ron out of the Great Hall.

"Thought you were going to stay in the dorm?" I teased.

"Well, I'm not particularly fond of starving myself. And I wanted to wish the boys luck," she explained looking down at her plate.

"Hello, Bella, Hermione,"

I looked up to see Luna in a lion costume. I bit my lip to refrain from laughing.

"Hey, Luna," Hermione said politely as I waved.

"Good luck today. I hope you know I'll be routing for you," She said looking quite dazed.

"Thanks, Luna," I said before taking a shaky breath from not laughing. "Well, I best be off. I'll see you in the stands."

"Bye, Bella," Hermione and Luna chorused.

I made my way out of the Great Hall and towards the Quidditch pitch. One step outside and I was hit with a nasty thing called a fall breeze. I balled my fists, instantly warming myself.

I quickly made my way down to the Quidditch pitch Gryffindor changing room.

"-even better then that - Malfoy's gone out sick, too," I heard Ginny's voice say from the changing room.

I stopped dead next to the entrance and leaned against the wall, trying to listen in on their conversation.

"What?" Harry said astounded. "He's ill? What's wrong with him?"

"No idea, but it's great for us," Ginny enthused. "They are replacing him Harper. He's in my year and he's as dumb as they come!"

"Bella?" Dean voice came from next to me.

My heart skipped a beat and I have a slight jump that caused me to bang into the wall. "Jesus," I hissed.

Dean chuckled at me. "Sorry, didn't mean to frighten you. I was just wondering what you were doing."

I looked at him for a few seconds, not able to explain what I was doing.

"Umm... I'm just... uhh... a superstition?" I guess.

"Really?" he asked. "What is it?"

"Um... count to twenty before walking through a doorway," I lied. "It was very popular for the soccer games back in my home town."

"Oh, that's... cool," he said giving me an odd look with an amused smile. "Have you finished counting?"

I breathed a single chuckle sign a crooked smirk. "Yes."

We walked into the room and found only half of the team there.

I walked over to my locker and opened it. Since I was already in my uniform all I had to put on was my padding. Then I grabbed my broom and walked over to Harry.

"So, what's the game plan?" I asked.

"Well, surprisingly, we might not need one," Harry told me.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, Syltherin's best players are out sick," Harry said, smirking giddily.

"Really? The keeper as well?" I asked.

"Yeah!" he said smiling. But after a few seconds his smile fell and he gave me an odd look. "What do you mean also?"

I blushed. "Um... well... Ginny isn't exactly the quietest person."

Harry smiled again and looked over at her. "Not really."

I watched with a knowing look as he watched Ginny.

"Want to tap that, huh?" I joked, nudging him with my shoulder.

He blushed and simply shook his head, a smile still on his face. "No, of course not."

But when Dean walked over to her and kissed her, his eyes drifted as well as his smile.

"How long?" I asked.

"Dunno," he sighed. "I only realized it recently though..."

"What took you so long?" I asked.

"What do you mean?" he asked.

"I mean, she practically told me she had a crush on you last year and it was slightly obvious," I told him. "But you didn't hear it from me."

"She did?" he questioned.

"Yeah, you never realized?"

"No, I've always believed it was like a celebrity crush kind of thing," he admitted.

"Maybe before she met you, bro," I said, "but when I talked to her about it, it was definitely a crush."

"Really?"

"Yeah. Now just give the game speech, I think everyone is here," I said changing the subject.

~

"Harry!" I called running up to him as he strode towards the castle. "Harry, wait up!"

He never stopped. I didn't blame him though. There were people congratulating him and I as we made our way up. But eventually I caught up.

"Hey," I breathed standing next to him and nudging his shoulder. "What's up pissy pants?"

He hesitated before answering. "Ron and Hermione... I think I made their fighting worse."

I furrowed my eyebrows. "How?"

"I told them I never poured in the Felix Felicis. And then... well you know Ron... he took Hermione's words out of context and she's all upset now..."

"Hey, you didn't make anything worse," I told him, wrapping an arm around his shoulder. "They just-"

"Have to realize their feelings for each other?" he added.

I chuckled as we walked up up some steps that led to the common room. "No, Ron needs to realize his feelings. Hermione already knows what she wants and doesn't want to admit it."

"Is that so?" Harry chuckled.

"Yup!" I laughed. "Ron has never been very good at knowing his feeling, has he? Why would that change now?" I asked.

"Your right," Harry said amazed.

"I'm always right," I said taking my arm off his shoulder as we faced the portrait hole. "Galanthus Nivalis."

The door swung open and there was a loud whoop throughout the crowd.

"Well, damn," I chuckled walking in.

"You could say that again."

"Hey Guys!" Ginny said from next to us, trying to make her way through the crowd.

"Hey, Gin," I smiled.

"Hey, have you seen, Ron?" Harry asked.

"Yeah," she said smugly. "The hypocritical git is over there."

We looked in the direction she jerked her head to see Ron sucking face with Lavender.

"Wow, that's new," I noted in shock.

"I know, right? It looks like they are practically eating each other's faces!"

"Yeah," Harry and I agreed.

That's when I noticed it.

"ALCOHOL!" I shouted pushing my way over to a table full of fire whiskey and beer.

I bit my lip excitedly as I grabbed a red solo cup and poured in the fire whiskey all the way to the top.

"Don't you think that's a little much?" Harry asked coming next to me.

"Nope. I've taken shots before, and they weren't that bad. I'm not a light weight," I told him taking a sip of the burning liquid.

"Okay I wasn't saying you weren't, but have you ever had fire whisky?" he asked me a raised eyebrow.

"Not till now, and it's reaaaallllllyyyyy good," I giggled.

I chugged the rest of the cup and stumbled a bit causing Harry to catch me.

"I'm not a lightweight!" I giggled pouring myself another glass.

Which I also chugged down, this time stumbling back and falling onto the couch from one of the arm rests.

"Party!" I shouted pouring another glass.

"Oh god," Harry groaned.

"What wrong with you, pissy?" I cooed.

"Come on, we are going for a walk," he told me grabbing my elbow and pulled me off the couch.

"Wait!" I yelled before downing the glass and pouring another. "Okay, let's a gooooo!"

I saw him roll his eyes as I giggled, being pulled out of the out of the room.

~

"Hermione?" Harry called into a classroom by my wrist.

She was sitting on the teachers desk whist whipping her eyes as little birds floated around her head.

"Oh... hello Harry.... and B-Bella," she said in a brittle voice.

I didn't take much notice to it and giggled. "Hey Hermioneeeee. Did you make these pretty birdies? I want one!"

I freed myself from Harry's grasp and jumped onto a student desk attempting to catch one.

"Harry, is she drunk?" Hermione hissed.

"No! I only had like..." I counted my fingers," Four- I think."

"Four glasses?" Hermione questioned wiping her eyes. "Of what? You can't have four glasses of something and be like that after four cups unless your-"

"I'm not a lightweight!" I yelled.

"Fire whiskey," Harry told her.

I hear a chirp from above me and became interested in catching a little bird again.

"Fire whiskey! That has like 10 times more alcohol in it then regular whiskey," she snapped with a sniff. "I can't believe you would let her do that-"

"Hermione you're upset, I get that," Harry said putting his arms on her shoulders. "But you need to calm down. She's fine."

"Yeah, Hermione," I slurred. "I'm fine."

I threw my hands in the air and the desk shook.

"Shit!" I cursed as the desk tipped over and I fell on the floor.

"Oh my god!" Hermione gasped running over to me, Harry behind her.

"I'm fine," I giggled.

"I think you should go to the dorms. Here come on, I'll take you," Hermione instructed.

"No, no, I'll go by myself," I told her standing up and rubbing my butt.

"No, I'm -"

"Hermione!" I screamed causing both of them to look at me with shock. "I'm going by myself."

I stumbled a bit as I walked out of the classroom.

"Ha! I got out by myself!" I cheered. "Woo! I'm just to cool!"

I started to skip down the corridor, causing me to leave behind the echoing sound of my shoes on the floor.

"Cha-cha-cha-changes face the strange," I sang. "Don't want to be a different man. Time may change me, but I can't change time-"

Suddenly the backs of my hairs stood up, and my clouded became slightly clearer.

"Who's there?" I asked, my voice clear.

"You're late," a voice hissed.

"Sorry you got the wrong person," I said lightening up.

"No, I don't," the voice snapped.

"I'm pretty sure you do-"

There there a few footsteps and Draco appeared, stepping into the moonlight that streamed into the window.

He looked at me with confusion. "Are you drunk?"

"No!" I snapped. "And if I was if would be non of your beeswax."

"Your drunk," he sneered with a smirk.

I stuck out my tongue and threw my hands into the air. "Whatever."

"Come on-"

"And go to your detention drunk? I don't think think so," I snapped sloppily.

"So you are drunk."

I glared at him and crossed my arms.

Draco rolled his eyes. "Oh, yeah. Get mad at me. I'm horrible for stating the obvious."

I huffed and began walking forward. I was about to shove him, be he was quicker and more grounded then I. He swiftly picked me up and through me over his shoulder.

"Put me down!" I screamed. "Help! I'm being raped!"

"Shhh!" he hissed. "I'm not putting you down!"

"I hate you," I growled, the blood rushing to my head as he walked us somewhere.
