I wake up to dimly lit lights surrounding my body, I'm in my bed. But I look around and notice the amount of wires attached to my body.
My body felt numb and cold, but I could barely move to push the covers up further to my chest.
"Hey, you're awake." My father says lightly touching my shoulder. His minty breath powers over me making me almost feel sick.
"I told you I didn't want to go out." I croaked, I could barely get my words out, I pointed to the cover over my body and my father knew exactly what I wanted. He tucked it up further to my chest to allow the warmth roam around my body.
"What happened Jayden? "He raised his brow at me and questioned my health.
"Luke, he was there." I croaked out once more, I let out a few coughs before I could continue. "He knew my last name..." I sigh and a singular tear falls from my eye, Liam's finger traces over the drop and he smiles at me.
"I have a feeling... He's alive..." I speak, but struggle. I cough and Liam instantly reaches for the glass of water that is sitting perfectly on the bedside table, he brings the rim of the cup to my lips and tilts is up slightly.
I take in the cold liquid and feel blessed to have the taste running down my tongue instead of the iron from the blood. There was still a hint of blood that went down my throat but it wasn't as bad as what I did experience.
"Thank you." I mutter and he smiles at me.
"I'll leave you to rest up." I nod and my father walks away and closes the door behind him, leaving me to sleep. I had no idea what time it was but I couldn't move to check.

I watch as Olivia reads to our mother once again, Liv's behaviour has definitely changed since we've left Jayden's, she doesn't seem as happy anymore unless we're seeing mum. I sigh and sit in the seat as Olivia's beautiful voice echoes through the room.
"Then they lived happy, ever, after." Olivia closed the book to find our mother fast asleep in her bed. We were both pleased that she was getting better. It was just unfortunate that it was with Jayden's money, I haven't thanked her... And I still can't. We've decided to drop contact, but it's for the best.
"Goodnight mum." Olivia says and plants a small kiss onto our mother's forehead.
"Liv, I think you should get some rest." I whisper, trying not to wake up our mother.
"I think you should mind your own business." She whispers back.
I sigh and pinch the bridge of my nose, I have no idea what to do with her... My sister, she's not okay. And it's almost all my fault.
The guilt consumes me as I sit in this armchair a bit longer I look at the doorway and notice Olivia standing there blankly with her arms crossed slightly.
"I'm going to bed, goodnight Elijah." I waved goodbye to ensure I'm not pushing my luck with her. She clearly doesn't want to talk to me and tonight I'm not pushing it.

The morning shines through the blinds allowing the light to beam throughout the whole of the house, i rub any excess sleep out of my eyes and instantly run to the shower, considering I slept in my clothes.
I washed my body and rummaged the shampoo in my scalp, it bubbled and I washed it off almost instantly. I decided to dress my best today. Today is the day I want to make it up to Olivia, beg for her forgiveness.
I walk to the bedroom that I stay in at my mother's and get out my plain black jeans and wear my grey polo top over my torso. I spray on my aftershave and style my hair. I'm almost worried to knock on Olivia's door, I'm not sure what I'd find.
"Olivia?" I ask and knock but I hear no answer, no reply.
I knock again which results in a sudden echo saying 'Go away'.
"Okay, but I'm going to head to the milkshake parlour all by myself to try their new flavours. I've heard they're meant to be the best in the town." I tease and cross my fingers in hope she'll open the door but nothing happens, I sigh deeply and begin to walk away but the knob of the door turns and Olivia stands there in her pyjamas.
"Fine, but there better be new milkshake flavours, otherwise I'm coming home." She speaks with attitude but I go along with it and nod in agreement.
"Give me ten minutes." She said and closed the door back up, I decided to see mum for the morning until Olivia was finished dressing her self up.
"Morning mum." I kissed her forehead and placed the tea on her bedside table that I had made.
"Thank you." I was grateful that my mother had her mobility back, she couldn't walk just yet but it's early days still. She struggles but she can sit up and move her arms.
"What are your plans for today?" She asks and I chuckle.
"I'm taking Olivia to the milkshake parlor, they've got new flavours I thought she'd like." I announce and she smiles at me.
"I remember when I was younger, my favourite milkshake was always chocolate, but it had to have whip cream and marshmallows on top, if there was no marshmallows I had to have some sort of chocolate on top." She chuckles and I laugh along with her, I hand her the book she is currently reading and her smile enlarged.
I turn to the doorway and notice the braid in my sisters hair, just one singular braid. Her denim blue dress is beautiful and brings out her eyes.
"I'm ready." She states and I nod kissing our mother goodbye and getting my shoes on.
"Goodbye mum, I'll see you later." I hear Liv mutter.
We get into the car and I decide to take a longer way to the parlor, a way in which is full of nature and adventure. She sits in the passanger seat and stares out of the window and watches as the different kinds of birds pass the window gliding through the sky with their beautiful feathers.
"That one's so pretty!" Liv exclaims tapping loudly on the window. I chuckle as my mind becomes satisfied with Liv's behaviour. She's getting better and is no longer annoyed with me, which I'm thankful about.
We finally reach the parlour and I park up the car, as soon I took the keys out of the ignition Liv ran out into the car park and waited for me on the pavement. I chuckle and follow her into the parlour.
"Oh you were right Elijah! Look at these new flavours!" She exclaims with her excitement. I chuckle as I watch her eyes light up with happiness as she glances at all of the different flavours on the menu. Even though we haven't even sat down.
We make our way to the till and begin to think of what we want.
"How can I help?" A lady asked along with her grey hair, she looked old, but it was fair play that she was working at such an old age.
"Can I get a mango milkshake please, Liv what do you want?" I looked at her and she was still being indecisive.
"Can I have white chocolate please?" She asks and the lady nods. I hand over the money and we take our seats within a little booth as we wait for our order.
"Did you want a waffle or anything?" I asked Liv but she shook her head, I noticed that the silence soon erupted back which only brought me down.
"You sure? I can make sure they add extra chocolate syrup." I state but she shakes her head.
"But–"
"–Elijah, I said it's fine. Thank you." She interrupts how intense I'm being and shoots me down, I calm down and our drinks arrive.
"Thank you." Liv and I both say, we take large sips of out milkshakes and we stare at each other for a little while before she breaks the silence.
"Thank you for buying this for me Elijah." She says with a large smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. I smile back before I begin to talk back to her.
"You're most welcome." I reply and smile at her as I wipe whip cream at the end of her nose.
