8. The Wedding
There were no church bells but the brightness of the sun made up for it. The willows swayed with the grace that countless dancers had failed to fully master. It was going to be a beautiful wedding.
The already scattered petals were momentarily lifted by the breeze only to settle as if undisturbed once again.
Bree loved how it looked. To the eyes of a child it looked magical, almost like a fairytale in a garden. She tugged at her brother's hand. "It's so pretty Bray!" she sounded delighted.
"It is isn't it?" Brady said, which caused Bree to instantly look at him. That was the voice he always used when he was distracted.
"What are you looking at?" Bree tried to follow Brady's gaze to where it kept trying to focus across from the aisle.
"Nothing," Brady mumbled.
Bree thought he was a liar, because he still hadn't looked at her so she pulled at his hand till he was facing her. "Liar liar pants on fire," she said.
She had his full attention now. "No Bree my love, I just thought I saw someone," he brushed his nose with hers.
"I know! It's those two holding hands isn't it? You think he's pretty!" Brady was taken aback but didn't ask further, sometimes Bree was so quick with her words. It might have even been his doing.
He took her attention somewhere else instead. "Look the wedding is starting!"
That did the trick faster than he thought. The best thing about children being so simple.
Brady tried to get his mind out of a jumble. Leo really was there with his boyfriend. His boyfriend looked dangerous but regal at the same time. He dressed formally but casually. He was everything in between.
He had noticed how amazing Leo looked, in a suit that hugged all the right places. Hair combed back which made his ful vue glasses that Brady never failed to notice, all the more.
Although with the suit, they looked extremely sexy.
Not that he cared or anything. So he decided to focus on the wedding.
The three grooms looked so authentic in their black tuxes. They looked overwhelmingly handsome, and they could not take their eyes off each other.
Brady almost never cried, he was no crier but there was something about this wedding, seeing his Jade so loved that threatened to bring tears to his eyes.
He watched as Met slipped a ring on to Sean's finger, who in turn slid one onto Jade's finger until finally, Jade slid the final ring onto Met's finger and soon they were kissing each other like they weren't aware of the number of people in attendance.
Brady cheered on top of his voice, along with Bree and the rest of the people.
When the grooms had began to mingle, he went to find Jade.
He spotted him chatting with a few people he didn't know but went over anyway. "Hi! I'm just going to steal him for a little bit," Brady said to the older couple who were probably Met or Sean's friends as he pulled Jade away.
He immediately pulled Jade into a tight hug. "As your mama, this is the proudest day of my life," he felt Jade's smile rather than saw it.
He pulled away from him by the shoulders to take a good look at him. "You look rather stunning Mr Jade Williams Lancet."
Jade seemed to flush upon hearing the names he had taken up as a result of the union between him and his men.
"I'm not used to it yet you know," this Jade was one Brady still couldn't wrap his head around.
He was so happy it was contagious.
"But you love it don't you?"
"I do Brady, more than I let on. And in case I've never made it clear, now's a good time as any. Just this once I'll admit you're like the most amazing friend ever and I love you."
"Should I be jealous?" Sean said as he wrapped his arms around Jade from the back. "It is my wedding day after all," he kissed the side of Jade's neck, making him shrink at the public display of intimacy.
"I'll make it up to you," Jade smiled. "Tonight," he whispered so that only Sean and Brady heard him.
Sean turned Jade around so fast someone could think something was wrong.
"Congratulations to you guys," Brady said even if he was sure they had already forgotten his presence. They kept on looking at each other like they couldn't decide if they wanted to kiss or leave.
Imagine being that much in love! Brady thought.
"Yeah I'll just leave you two to it," He said as he slowly walked away.

Leo had just watched one of the best weddings he'd been invited to. Between the three grooms, was love as clear as day, no one could say otherwise.
But his mind only thought of Brady rubbing noses with an adorable little black girl.
Alex had refused to let his hand go the whole time, in the name of 'he knew what he was doing'.
"He is quite a beauty. I wouldn't let him go if you hadn't seen him first," he had said when he'd figured out who Brady was.
He wasn't to blame though, Brady moved as if he didn't know he had dressed to kill.
Like he knew it would make Leo want to piss all over him and mark him his.
"Pretend I'm saying something funny and laugh," Alex whispered in Leo's ear.
Leo laughed as Alex pretended to fix the front of his suit and pulled him into an embrace. "I think we scored one. Your boy is coming over," he felt Leo tense against him.
"Relax," Alex said before crashing his lips onto Leo's, although he had to pull Leo down for it because he was shorter.
Leo dominated the kiss in no time. Kissing Alex like he couldn't get enough of his lips. By the time they pulled apart, Brady was right there looking as uncomfortable as hell. Like he needed the smallest excuse to leave.
"Leo!" he smiled brightly. He'd said his name like he had been waiting two weeks to say it again. "And..."
"Alex," Leo said.
"His boyfriend," Alex added and smiled wider.
Brady almost didn't return the smile. Almost.
"Nice to meet you, uh Leo, Met's looking everywhere for you," Brady said.
"Oh okay," Leo said and dropped a quick kiss to Alex's cheek. "Be right back baby," he said.
Brady crossed his arms once Leo had left, he looked at Alex.
"You did that on purpose didn't you? What do you want to say to me?" Alex asked.
"You don't look like you love him," Brady stated.
"I'm sorry but this is your concern, why?"
"Because he needs it, lots and lots of it. If you loved him you would have noticed the dark circles under his eyes for example or how sad he looks."
"Who says I haven't?"
"Well do something about it then, you are his boyfriend," Brady said.
"Or what?" Alex was the picture of calm and collected.
Alex watched as Brady remained quiet. He tried his best not to smile. Brady was so cute. And what was most surprising was that he cared for Leo liked he'd known him for years.
They would be perfect together.
"Just take care of him, if you don't want to, I'll gladly do it for you," Brady smiled at him.
Alex just stared at him. You idiots better end up together. He thought to himself.
Brady walked away after saying a few formalities and Leo joined him once again.
"Sometime in the near future, remember to invite me to your wedding," Alex said.
"Have you taken any alcohol?" Leo couldn't help but wonder.
"And if that's what you call straight then I might as well be Lego batman."
"Don't even dare."
"Remember Leo, I'm always right."

Brady was restless after the wedding day. He kept on thinking back to it. The images burned into his brain.
Leo kissing his boyfriend Alex. He didn't know how to feel about it.
He didn't like it for sure but he wasn't jealous.
Because he didn't like Leo in that way.
He shouldn't be thinking so much about it.
When Leo had laughed at something Alex had said, he had actually pictured himself saying it.
Who was he kidding, he hated it! He hated it all. Especially seeing Leo with someone who didn't deserve him.
On the second day, he couldn't take it. Which is why he found himself storming into Leo's apartment after he'd opened the door. He looked at him. Before Leo could say anything he spoke.
"I don't like him," he said.
