Recall

Brixton, so I'm back, I have fond memories of both houses, but especially of this house, as I spent a lot of time here during my early childhood. I can still remember waking up to the smell of pancakes on Sundays and the sound of radiators knocking as the house warmed up before we got out of bed on a cold winter morning. I remember fried egg sandwiches made with homemade bread at lunch and watching the snow fall at night with Erin sitting on the couch near window as it passed through the glow of the street lights. I still owe a lot to Uncle John for maintaining this house for years, keeping it as the same house we left. We also said uncle john and Aunt Martha to stay with us but they left because they thought we need some privacy.

I rushed out the door and ran into the house, turns out it was locked.

Hold on there, Lou... let me bring the key from our neighbor" Erin Yelled

"Can you hurry up please; I want to see the house after such a long time!!" I said. "I will unload the car" I shouted.

She came and tossed me the house keys; I unlocked the door and as soon as I opened it, memories of years here just flashed in my head.

"Hey Lou, pass me my bags so I can unpack and fix up my room." Erin screamed.

I ran out and bring all the bags inside "Whoa, here take your bags, Erin" I said.

I took my bags and ran upstairs.

"You seem really happy" Erin came up to my room, patted on my back and said.

"Yeah... very, but go to your room and lets me arrange my room, don't ... disturb your little bro!" I said blissfully with a smirked in my face.

She made a coy face and said "wanna arrange or mess up your room... hmm Lou?" and raised her eyebrows.

"You just goo... Erin" I said and she gave me an angry look but after a while both started laughing. it was common between us, first getting angry with each and then laughing on each other.

it took about a half hours, but I was finally done. I transformed my 3-10 year old bedroom, to a 23 year old bedroom. I was impressed with my work though I know Erin was right I already turned it quite a mess but I love staying like that. It was now 12:04 pm and I was ready to head for viewing Brixton city.

"Hey Erin, I'm gonna go to Ginger & White.... okay " I said. I had already heard about it from my bosom buddies that it's a quite a good café in London. So I wanted to try it.

"Sure, but please can you got to a store and pick up the household thing in this list" she asked me.

"Okay.... I will do that... but the list seems so long" I said with a pouted face.

I walked out the door and a fresh summer breeze hit my face. Though it was raining in the morning we reached but now it was sunny. I didn't forget anything; it's like my legs automatically knew where to go. I wonder how the city has changed. I couldn't wait to see the full city.

..........................................................

I was walking in the direction to the cold storage in the mall. Head down and hood up listening to the Fray. I cursed my sister under breath for sending me down to the mall as you know you cannot reason with a hungry belly; it has no ears. And I was very hungry, one coke and some chips was all I had since morning and feeling more hungry with every steps. I sped up my motion to do the buying quickly and then bump!

She landed with a on the ground and looked up, "My God, Sage. Her eyes. I had never seen some one with such beautiful eyes. An uncomfortable feeling was spreading over me
"The color," I breathed. "Her eyes was so brown, they were almost black. Black enough that they could pull you in, drown you in their very existence, and never let you go. Her eyelashes stood off her face and floated, a bit like a butterfly. She was a lot like a butterfly, in fact. I couldn't quite pinpoint why she was beautiful, but, God, there was no question. She was intensely beautiful..." I thought to myself. She has the most gorgeous eye that I had ever laid eyes on.

"Shit! I am so sorry!" I reached a hand down but she ignored it, pushing herself up and glaring up at me. As she got up, I saw her hair was a rich shade of coffee. It flowed in waves to adorn her glowing, porcelain skin that I couldn't look away from.

"Are you okay? Look, I am really sorry..." I said and she gave me a small smile.

"Yeah, I'm fine but next time keep your eyes straight while walking, don't look at the ground and walk." She said and turned around. She had a fast pace, even wearing those heels.

"Wait! Wait!" I said. I wasn't quite sure why I cared about the girl at the moment. All I knew was that it was crucial that she didn't get away.

She turned around, still with the same expression on her face. "What." she said, not so much questioning me, but demanding an answer as to why I was delaying her exit.

"Louis... I am Louis" a smile was forming on my lips as I extended my hand for a handshake

"Mahek" she said while continuing to shoot bullets at me with her eyes. Throughout this whole exchange, she hadn't smiled once. For that matter, she hadn't changed her facial expression once. It wasn't pissed off, or angry. It was more like....indifferent. Like she didn't care at all.

"It was nice to meet you "Mohawk" "I said with a smile.

"Same here, Bye" she said and turned again to walk away. Hey.... Umm... mak, I couldn't take her full name, she turn back ....

"Hmmm... I thought I should let you know how beautiful you look" I said nervously and firstly she gave surprised look and she smiled and said "thank-you" and went out of the mall.

As I walked back for buying things which was listed by Erin; my shopping was just about to get over. At that moment the thought crossed my mind of how different she was. But my heart wanted to follow her, her steps. But I couldn't move my feet. I stand still there thinking about her beauty for a while.

As I completed my shopping, I walked out of the mall heading quickly toward the car. It took me about 45 minutes to get into the café. When I get there I parked my car and walked up to the café door.

I open the door and I'm welcomed by a warm blanket of air that envelopes me in the rich aromas of fresh coffee and baked goods. Stepping into the coffee house and closing the door behind me, I lock the chill of the cold cloudy day outside.

It was really beautiful inside. The tan color on the top half of the walls is a shade darker than the pine, tying the pine wood panels to the darker color of the ceiling. Pendant light was hung in a straight line over the seats. The front of the counter is open, revealing an array of delicious-looking baked goods arranged in wicker baskets.

Then my eyes fell on a woman. She was seated in a corner of the room, her coffee cup in one hand and a newspaper in the other. The moment I saw her I recognized her, who she was she was the lady I met her in the mall... they lady whom I bumped into. I felt I was lucky to meet her once again.

MAHEK POV

I was sitting in café for than an hour now. I like sitting in café it gives me feeling that I am free. My perfect morning is spent drinking coffee, eating chocolate muffin and reading the paper at a local cafe. Suddenly I felt a light tap on my shoulder, for a moment I thought it was Rahul. I was really scared for the moment I thought he will drag me down to the house and beat me but then I turn around and see. I was the man from shopping mall who pushed me down .... I couldn't remember his name it was something like Louie or logos... uff I don't know his name.

"You... what are you doing here?" maybe I sound irritated but it was only way to hide my fright from him.

"Sorry did I scare you?" "Sorry, did I scare you?" though I tried to hide my shock from him, but I think he got that I was scared.

"No... I am absolutely fine" I said with a faint smile.

"Actually I like tea and coffee... I have heard a lot of praise about this place... so I thought to check out this place" he said and sat down to the opposite chair to me.

LOUIS POV

As I sat there, she also sat on the chair, she was sitting on before I came here; Even though she didn't object me sitting in same table with her it wasn't like she was talking with me. she has a book in her hands, while her eyes stared vacantly on the cup of coffee on the table. I had seen anyone like her before. There was a certain melancholy to her beauty. She was probably the prettiest girl I had ever laid eyes upon, and definitely the most mysterious. Her personality dwarfed me.

"Is that take a break you're reading? I asked to start a conversation with her.

She looked at me. And with that eye contact, I thought she saw right through me.
"Oh. Yes that's take a break I'm reading." She said with a smile. It made me felt so good.
"So I have a seat here?" I asked her

"you are already sitting here moreover you are worthy enough sitting here... so I guess you can "she said with a light voice

"thank-you" I said shyly. "Do you come here often?" I asked after sometimes as she wasn't talking with me.

"Hmm...Yes"

Here was the girl who could complete me, who could give meaning to my existence. Every thought I had ever had, every joke I had ever told, every song I had ever sang, was gone. Poof!
Awe is paralytic. I was experiencing it first time. Most of the time girls throw their-selves to me and whom I wanted to throw myself too wasn't even talking to me.

to broke the awkward silence I said "I hope you don't think I'm a stalker or something."

She chuckled lightly. "Not at all, though you pushed me down at the mall. You look like a decent guy."
"Decency is subjective." I said with a smirk

"Maybe. But you and I happen to live in different society, and you have grown up with your ethics. So it your own to thinking" she said

"Fascinating, I've been looking at your eyes all long, 'cause I've never seen such dark eyes with so much light in them." I blurted out and maybe it was my big mistake of that day.

"If you think such cheeky lines would work on me then you're sadly mistaken. And more over I am married" she said with an angry look in her eyes.

"They're not just lines for me. I never learned how to flirt. I never had the chance to. So I speak truth and nothing but the truth. From the first moment I laid eyes upon you, I have been stupefied. And this past one month has been excruciating for me, knowing that someone like you exists out of my imagination. I know it sounds strange coming from the mouth of a stranger you've been talking to for a mere 20 minutes, but hey! Truth is stranger than fiction.
Your eyes speak to me. Your smile sings to me. I know what you're thinking." I go on saying like I was shooting bullet to her.

'If I'd known that you were really this annoying, I wouldn't have spoken to you in the first place" she hissed at, standing up and tipping the waitress that served her. She walked out towards door to go out off the café.
