Ch.34 Atlas
The VOID is Endless and Empty.
Darkness consumed Everything.
Dark.
Darker.
Yet Darker.
You stare into the VOID.
And the VOID stares back.
Alpha pulls on my sleeve to get my attention. I turn from the VOID to the blaster. I blink down at them. "Thanks Alpha. Not used to being in the VOID like you all." I tell them.
"You weren't listening to us talking to you. We were getting worried for a moment there." Carber tells me. The other two bitties nod.
"Sorry. What were you trying to tell me?" I ask.
"We WeRe JuSt AsKiNg If YoU HaD AnY IdEa WhErE We'Re GoInG AnD MaYbE WhEn We WoUlD GeT ThErE." String asks.
"They're probably taking us somewhere they think we'll be safe. I'm not sure how long it will take to get there since time and distance doesn't actually exist here. Only our perception of it. It's complicated, but we'll get there eventually. We luckily don't have to worry about eating or sleeping since time doesn't pass. Though rest would still be good for our mental health." I say.
"So we can travel forever and still not get there?" Moon asks.
"Well yes, but they wouldn't do that to us. They genuinely care about my health and wandering the VOID so long would jeopardize that. We may be ok now, but it's only a matter of time before we start feeling the long-term effects of being here. Most beings aren't build to handle the VOID. Even if my DETERMINATION and godhood saved us, I'm not meant to be here." I tell them.
"You are correct young administrator. Your place is not in the VOID, only to pass through," a deep rumbly voice says. I jump in surprise.
I look around to see where the voice is coming from, but don't see anyone besides us. I hear a deep chuckle. "Hello? Who's there?" I call out. The bitties look at me confused.
In front of us, the VOID seems to to ripple and something comes slowly through like a surface of water. At first it reveals a large white skeletal muzzle, before showing a enormous animal skull, neck bones, a rib cage and arms, followed by the the rest of the body leading to a long bony tail. The tail sways behind and with a groan a pair of skeletal wings stretch out behind the being. "I have waited a very long time to meet you, young administrator." The being says looking straight to me. A few of the blasters around me go to them and float around them yipping and barking playfully.
"What do you mean? Who are you, if I may ask?" I ask politely.
It was clear to me this was an old and powerful VOID beast based on their ability to manipulate the VOID and the old scars littering them. It would be best not to anger them. The being makes a sort of purring sound seemingly pleased at my manners. "Beings of the VOID don't use names as they are considered inconsequential. However I am aware that those of existence use them to differentiate between eachother. You may give me one if that is favorable to you." The being says. I think for a moment.
It would probably be best if I used a proper name instead of referring to them as a VOID beast or being. I try to think for a name that would be fitting for a being such as them. "Atlas. You will be named Atlas."
"May I ask why you have given me such a name?" they ask.
"Atlas in Greek mythology was considered one of the most powerful of the titans and held up the sky itself. It is also the name of the first bone in the spine. I think it is fitting." I explain. The being seems to think for a moment before nodding their head in consent.
"Very well then, from this point on, I will be Atlas. Now I'm sure you wish for an explanation." Atlas says.
"Yes I'm a bit confused on how you knew I would come here and why you call me administrator." I tell them.
"The VOID allows us to look into existence at any point in time through tears in reality. This is due to the fact that past, present, and future have no meaning here. We exist in nonexistence at all points. I knew you would fall and have been waiting for your arrival. As for why I call you administrator, that would be because that is what you are by designation of the omniverse. Your necklace was given to you to aid in your assignment. You have also been given a book that will explain different multiverses and universes as you visit them. My sole reason for existence is to aid and teach the chosen of the manifestation of this omniverse, Omnidei, in their path." Atlas explains.
I look down to see I do have a necklace I didn't notice. It was in the shape of a save star but looked like a galaxy was contained in it. I then look in my inventory for anything that wasn't there before. I pull out a beautiful wooden box and a galaxy pattern blanket. I open it up the box to find a red book and a note that seems to have already been opened. I read the note.

"That's alot to process. I'm a bit confused by the letter too. I really like the blanket though. How did I even get this stuff?" I say absentmindedly.
"You received them during an ask or dare special. The whole thing was canonical. It's best not to concentrate on that though. From this point on, I'm going to teach you what is necessary for the task of being an administrator." Atlas tells me.
"Hold on a second. I get that you've been waiting who knows how long for me to come here, but this is a bit sudden. I was already forced to guard a tree that balances emotions in the multiverse and become a goddess. I'm just a child! What is with higher beings and forcing children to do tasks that are for grown adults! I don't really even have any training except the basics of how to use my abilities! Isn't there anyone more suitable this Omnidei can pick for the task?!"
"If they picked you then there is not. The requirements were quite strict for who could be an administrator. The most important ones were a higher being who was morally grey, but wouldn't abuse their position; as well as balanced in magic so as to not shift any balance of multiverses they enter negatively." They told me. I slump resigned to my fate.
I could understand that there would be few beings that would meet both requirements. The list of morally grey gods was likely high, but most would abuse the position for their own gain. Another requirement being, having perfectly balanced magic. The chances of a god with opposing magical aspects in perfect balance is incredibly low. The highest chance of such being a shattered dream or child of two opposing gods, however they would have to actually be in harmony with both their magics. For Shatters, both positivity and negativity, rather than just corrupted. I'm an actual goddess of emotions, instead of a normal corrupted guardian or god of positivity. The children would need to have both magics equally to one another and balanced. The chances of that are slim to none. I sigh in resignation. "Well when will we begin." I ask. The large being shifts closer to me.
"We begin now."
