New Alpha
Raven stood up and limped before he turned to me, still in his wolf persona, and stared. I wondered why he seemed worried so I ran a look at myself, only then did I notice my trembling hands.
"Ah.. Th-This.." Even my voice is trembling.
"I'm sorry to have shown you a terrible sight. I did not mean for you to witness such fight." His apologetic voice rang.
"N-No!! Umm.. I-I mean.. I do-don't mind." I answered in a quiet voice.
"We need to return." I heard him say and I looked up to him while he seemed to look far ahead. "Things are getting out of hand. I need to stop the fight."
"But how will you do that? Alpha Loki is nowhere and I don't think those wolves will easily listen to you." I told him.
"I'll do something about it. Let's go." He said and gestured with his large wolf head for me to mount on him.
We returned to the meadow and watched the rogues being round up by large groups of wolves, each side growling and snarling.
Raven let out a fierce and loud growl that immediately seized everyone's attentions. I got off of him and he walked closer to the groups of wolves but stopping at a good distance away from them.
"There is no need to continue this fight any longer!"
"Who are you to tell us that, traitor?" A wolf I don't recognize answered Raven as that wolf strode closer to him.
"Mark, I know that you know that what happened that night was an accident. I didn't even know Luna Alta was there till I saw the intruders kill her."
"She was there in front of you. The safety of the Luna should've been your priority!"
"I know failing to protect her was my fault and I'll bear it with me forever.. but.. this time I vowed never to let that happen a second time which is why I protected Luna Isis." He suddenly exclaimed and turned towards me.
Every wolf present looked towards me as well and almost all of them- probably except from Raven's troops- bowed their heads at me.
"Lu-Luna! We are deeply sorry for not being able to protect you and left you in the hands of this traitorous rogue." The wolf, I recall was Mark, exclaimed.
"Please, raise your heads. I am not your Luna. My wedding with Alpha Loki did not happen so technically I am not your Luna. Now that Alpha Loki disappeared without a trace, I can't possibly take up the governance of this pack." I told in a frantic manner. I was not used to being addressed too formally and by such a large group too.
"But Luna Isis is still our Luna, that's a fact that will never change. Please we ask of you to govern our pack. Without Alpha Loki, there is no one more suitable to governing this pack but you, Luna Isis."
"There is, though." I spoke and for the first time smiled at everyone and stroke Raven's fur. "Him."
I could very well imagine them gasping in surprise, horror or whatever, but I didn't care. I know Raven was suited for the position. I believe he is.
"Lu-Luna.. We-We're you threatened by this rogue to say such things?"
"I am not, Mark. Raven is suited to become Alpha. I know that. Aren't I right, Uncle Stan?" I asked and Uncle Stan emerged from the throng.
I felt Raven's wolf stiffen and found him hanging his head.
"You.. abandoned me and your Mother.. left this pack without telling us.. and you expect me to defend for you?" Uncle Stan voiced.
Oh no! Wa-Was it a wrong move to ask for Uncle Stan's opinion?
"But.. You are great. Although I hate how you just disappeared so suddenly, I understood why you needed to do that. Also, I can see your leadership skills to command a rogue army like this. Yes, I believe he can fulfill the position as Alpha of the Bloody Fangs Pack."
"Aren't you just saying that because he's your son?" Mark continued to contradict them.
"Precisely why I can say that he's the best choice for the position."
"Bu-but--"
"That's enough, Mark. As much as possible I didn't want to attain the position of Alpha since it'd only mean a lot of work but since you treat Isis as your Luna, I don't have a choice but to do it." Raven remarked as he walked towards a nearby tree and took clothes to wear before he shifted.
"What do you mean? What's it got to do with the Luna?" Mark asked, clearly perplexed.
"Well, I am her mate, after all. If she's your Luna, then I am your Alpha." Raven exclaimed in a loud and booming voice as he held my hands.
"Then, my first order as your Alpha is!!" He yelled before he turned to me with a smirk and turned to another wolf with the same expression.
"You won't.."
"Address me as Raven only!! That is all! Are we clear?" He continued to say in a loud voice.
"Yes! Alpha!"
"I couldn't hear you. What was it?"
"Yes! Raven!!"
"Thank you! Now please treat each other's wounds and rest." Raven said with a gentle smile this time before he dragged me inside the house.
He took off his white shirt and passed it to me. I stared at him dumbfounded before I examined the material in my hands.
"Um.. Ch-Change into that. That frilly dress is unpleasing to the eyes." He stuttered. Cute. Somehow, he reminds me of Rina.
"You remind me of someone." I said and walked into an empty room to change out of the cocktail dress I used in the wedding ceremony.
His shirt's hem dropped down to my mid-thigh and I rolled the droopy sleeves up. Somehow, it still looked like a dress but a lot more breezy down there.
"Um.. Don't you think it's a bit too large for me?"
"Uh... Well, it's better than nothing, right?" He said in an awfully awkward and goofy manner.
"I have my clothes upstairs though." I told him and pointed up as if reminding him I currently lived there.
He froze for a moment before a look of realization followed by an embarrassed expression graced his adorably handsome face and he laughed awkwardly. I smiled softly at his actions before I bowed slightly.
"Thank you for protecting me and freeing me from Alpha Loki. How could I ever repay you?"
"D-Don't worry about it. I-I just had to."
"Thank you really. Now I can go home without worries." I said and beamed a lively smile.
"Wh-What? G-Go home? You're leaving?" He asked, surprised.
Was it really that surprising?
"Well, I want to return home. I suppose there's nothing wrong with that, right? I am free from Alpha Loki after all."
"Ye-Yeah, I get that.. but why are you leaving? Why are you not staying here?"
"Then answer me, Raven. Why should I stay?" I asked him and stared straight at his ebony orbs.
"We-Well.. I am here. I am your mate so shouldn't you naturally stay by my side? Also, I am the Alpha of Bloody Fangs now."
"I feel you don't exactly understand the situation here Raven. I became Alpha Loki's fiancee to protect my own pack from wars not involve it in one, now that Alpha Loki's out there and would possibly come back to retaliate." I answered him and started for the stairs to get my things.
"Mate or not, I don't plan to involve my pack from needless fights. I'm sorry." I apologized and walked upstairs.
Whoa. Quite harsh on our mate, are we missy?
Shut up, Yin.
