Tae shifts restlessly in his seat. He was worried about his father and sitting in the van, alone with Jimin wasn't making it any better. Jimin breaks the silence.

"You can loosen up a bit Tae. Hong will rescue your father."

FLASHBACK

"Hey buddy, it's been your dream since you were 15. And it's finally coming true. Just breathe." Jimin says adjusting Tae's bow tie.

Today was the D-day. Tae and Hong were getting married! They were only 22 but they have been together since they were 15. They were each other's first love. And Tae can't help but freak out.

"I know Jimin but it's just nerves. She will become mine forever. I don't think I am ready to see her in that wedding dress. I might just faint!" Tae says panicking that his bow tie isn't straight.

"Hey, hey, that is what best man is for. To help you not faint. You can loosen up a bit. Hong will surely rescue you." Jimin says adjusting Tae's hair for the nth time.

"What would I have done without my best man?" Tae says hugging him.

FLASHBACK ENDS

Looking at Tae's face, Jimin guessed what he is thinking.

"You are thinking about our conversation before the wedding, right?"

Tae nods and looks away. It's still painful to think about that day.

"You should meet Hobi. He misses you."

Tae's face lit up a bit on Hobi's mention but he keeps his head down as he speaks, "I don't think I should."

"He never blamed you for what happened to him. It was done by your brother and not you. And you know why he could not come to the wedding. He had an assignment in Paris. Or he would have surely attended it."

"Can we please stop talking about 'the wedding'?" Tae's voice breaks a little when he says this.

Jimin understood and decided to give Tae the space he needed.

BANG!

Jimin and Tae look at each other terrified. 

BANG! BANG! BANG!

"What are you waiting for? Let's go. You heard the shots right?" Tae says with his hand on the car handle.

Jimin grabs his arm and stops him, "No Tae. It's dangerous. I have orders to follow. We wait until we get more orders." fighting his own urge to run and help.

"Fuck the orders, Jimin. Someone could have been seriously hurt." glaring at Jimin.

"It's a serious thing that's why we are given orders. We can't increase the casualties. You are nothing but a big risk for us right now." Jimin says angrily.

Tae becomes silent at that. They sit silently for the next 10 minutes until they hear another BANG!

" *krrr krrr* JIMIN FOLLOW THE PROTOCOL!" Hong shouts from the talkie.

Tae looks towards a running Jungkook and his father on his back. He hurriedly opens the door to help Kook.

"Fast Kook. We have to leave." Jimin says as he starts the engine.

"Wait...why leave? Hong and Joon aren't out yet!" Tae asks, checking for his father's pulse.

"Is he okay?" Jungkook asks.

"He has a pulse. He is just unconscious." Tae looks towards Jimin, "Why are you still driving? Stop the van! We have to wait for them!"

"We can't. It's the protocol." Jimin says speeding up.

"Protect or die." Jungkook says.

"What kind of protocol suggests leaving your team members in danger?" Tae asks, now glaring.

"They are not new to this Taehyung. They will manage to get out of there. Now shut up and let me drive!" Jimin says shouting.

"Unbelievable. Fuck your protocols."

Tae wraps a coat on his father.

It's not as if Jimin isn't worried about Hong and Joon. He knows that Joon already talked to the Head Office for backup. They reach the base and Taehyung puts his father on his back and hurries inside. Jimin signals Jungkook to help Tae.

"Agent HJ..Agent HJ. Are you okay? Over." Jimin asks desperately over his talkie.

"Yes Jimin. I am now heading to the base and Joon will go to the Head office. Is everyone alright? Over."

Jimin, now a bit relieved, "Everything is fine here. We are already at the base. Over and Out!"

He takes a deep breath and enters the base. "Hong and Joon are okay and she is coming to the base now." Says Jimin as he looks at Taehyung.

Tae listens to it but doesn't show his relief. He just hopes that Hong is okay. He just met her and doesn't want to let her go again.

No Tae. Just be thankful to her that she saved your dad. You don't want to give her any expectations. You have moved on.

But what is this voice ringing in his head?

"I promise to never let you go."
