She shook his hand in awe because she didn't know what to say. His handshake was light and felt different, she was sure it was because he was a pianist. His fingers were slimmer and his fingertips felt nice on her skin.

Marinette wanted to pinch herself because she had to be dreaming. Adrien Agreste was actually having a conversation with her! She was squealing in her mind and was so caught up in talking to him she didn't realize how close she had gotten to him. He cleared his throat and she blushed a bright red and apologized but he waved the apology away. He was so cool.

"I had no idea you could dance the way you did. Most of the classical ballet dancers I've met have stuck with just ballet or tap." As he said this he loosened his tie and stuck it in his pocket. His gaze never leaving her's as she fangirled on the inside.

"Yeah... Well," she trailed off and gave him an even bigger grin. "I'm not like most dancers." he laughed at her response and she swore she would imprint the sound in her mind. It was more melodious than the music he played.

"I wanted to say that I really liked your dancing." She thought that his cheeks were tinted pink but Marinette soon saw it was just the way the light was hitting him. She scolded herself before shrugging.

"That was nothing," she tried to play it off cool but she was screaming inside her head as she swore to never forget this moment. Her idol and crush complimenting her. It really was a dream come true. Luck was on her side it seemed.

His smile faltered. "I don't mean up there... I mean you danced wonderfully tonight but I meant at the audition. I thought you danced beautifully." Adrien trailed off and she was so happy she began to tip back and forth on her toes.

"Thank you!" She gave him a genuine smile.

"So did you make it?" he asked her hopefully. She gave a brisk nod and he smiled in relief.

"Alright Mr. Agreste, stop hogging my best friend." Nino smiled and Alya gave her best friend a wink. Marinette rolled her eyes but could not suppress the smile or blush. Adrien gave a breathy laugh and pushed his hands deep into his pockets, Alya and Marinette noticed the gesture. Nino frowned at it but soon recovered his smile. "Alright ladies," he flashed a smile to Alya who rolled her eyes. "Adrien, my man, and I are going for a drink. If you'll excuse us." Nino basically dragged Adrien out who gave a small wave the two dancers before disappearing into the night.

Marinette let out a content sigh and gripped her bag tighter. "Stop drooling." Alya smiled and grabbed her best friends hand before shouting out a goodbye to her manager and leaving the club.

"We should go hang out with Nino." Marinette offered.

Alya gave a small tsk. "You just want to hang out with Adrien. Besides, you have an early day tomorrow." Alya reminded her.

"I do?" Marinette asked. She remembered Adrien's touch and she could feel her skin tingle. She wanted to dance with happiness.

"Ladybug auditions tomorrow with Gabriel Agreste." Alya reminded her seriously. "We need to get you home and to bed. I've already kept you out late enough." Alya crossed the road mindfully, pulling her best friend along as well.

"I do." Marinette frowned but then smiled. "Do you think Adrien would notice me if I get the lead?"

"Can you even fill in Ladybug's shoes?" Alya asked playfully. Marinette gave a playful nudge to her best friend. She heard the hip scarf settle in Alya's bag while the girls continued their walk.

"From what I've heard the lead will be difficult yet beautiful." Marinette chimed back.

"You'll be perfect." Alya quickly cut through a side alley which was a useful shortcut.

"Already thinking I got the part?" Marinette teased. Alya hushed her with a small laugh.

"You're the best dancer I know, of course, you got the part!" Their building was in sight. "Besides, Gabriel has probably already picked someone and this is just a formality." Alya winked and held the door open to their building. The dancers took the elevator, not wanting to risk an injury on the stairs. Sure Marinette was a ballerina but the only time she was graceful was on stage.

"Nathalie said that the Agreste company would be providing pointe shoes," Marinette said quietly. Alya gave a small sigh before she smiled at her best friend.

"That's good, I was going to take some extra shifts from Josh if we needed to. Don't worry your pretty little head Mari." Alya's calming words settled her fluttering stomach. The ding signaled that they had reached their floor. They walked down the hall together in a comfortable silence. The excitement from the night settled in her bones and she felt her eyes droop. Alya held open the door for her and both girls walked into their homey apartment. Alya gave Marinette first shower and it was the best shower of her life.

When she crawled into her old bed she fell asleep easily not knowing a perfect blonde ballerina with a perfect bun would ruin her audition and sabotage her shoes in the next few hours.
