Chapter 35
I found myself curled on the ground. The ground was wet and muddy. I was covered in soil and I was drenched. I was clueless as to where I was. I looked around hoping to find any clue. My ears were ringing, that is when it hit me. Jungkook. I was with him. He was crying, he was afraid of me. Without realizing tears flowed from my eyes. I need to find him. But how? I don't know where I am?
I heard a twig breaking, I quickly turned and saw a young woman. I couldn't clearly see her face. It was raining so heavily and the sky roared. I stumbled back when a flash hit revealing her face, she was me. Why am I here? Is this the day they were talking about the immense rain drowning the whole city.
She had the same pale blue dress as me. Her hair set loose sticking onto her petite figure and face. I followed her, maybe she will lead me to him. I was right behind her when I heard her gasp. She had her hand placed on her chest breathing heavily. She was looking at a figure that popped out of nowhere.
He was older than me from the looks of it. He had an authoritative aura around him, "Don't go there." He commanded. Even his voice was captive making us obey him without any further question.
She flinched but didn't back off. She moved further to the direction she was heading to.
"Don't say I didn't warn you." His voice boomed with a sly smile on his lips. His actions looked suspicious. But she wasn't affected by his aura, even when her eyes told otherwise.
She walked as if she was hypnotized to reach her destination. I could hear the rippling of water from somewhere near. She stopped in her tracks after sometime. We were near a river that was overflowing with rain water. She was looking at someone.
"Why did you have to come here when it's too dangerous?" She sighed. I followed her eyes and saw the one I was dreading not to be seen here. Jungkook. He didn't realize her presence. He was captivated by the scenery around him as he captured it in his camera. She looked at him with love and care evident in her eyes. She was worried about him being alone in here.
Both of us snapped our neck to his left when we heard a crack. The branch of a tree near him broke making him fall backwards to the gushing water. I tried to sprint towards him but something blocked me from moving forward. I couldn't cut through the force. But she beat me to it and ran towards him and dived towards the water without even giving it a second thought. She swam using all her force to reach him. I was struggling to move but to no avail. My feet were fixed on the ground. She somehow grabbed his hands. He was unconscious, trails of blood was evident on the water. He was bleeding from his head. She tried to come back to the shore but the weight of both of them was too much for her against the gushing water.
'JUST ONE. YOU CAN SAVE ONE, NOT MORE. YOU HAVE TO MAKE THE DECISON NOW. THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE. CHOOSE WISELY.' I heard a voice ringing inside my head similar to that man's dominant voice.
My mind flashed across all the times in the past. I saved him from felling off the balcony, that is when my first tattoo disappeared. The next, the day I used my powers to save him from that lunatic, that was when I lost my other chance. Everything revealed showing how each served its own course. Suddenly, I felt the force around me depleting. I could move from the ground that trapped me.
I sprinted towards them and reached for one of their hands. At that moment she saw me right through her eyes. Her blue eyes glistened with tears and fear as she stared at the same blue eyes of her's standing across her. She was confused and so was I. We saw each other bending all the laws of nature. Nevertheless, she trusted him into my hands. I carried him and placed him on the ground and turned around only to see her struggling to maintain her strength to hold onto the last drop of life left in her. I reached out to help her only to be paralyzed at the spot. I couldn't move. Then I remembered the words ONLY ONE.
"Save him." She told with tears in her eyes before the stream took her far from my reach. At once the blaring ringing pierced through my ears as I crumbled onto the ground. I was a crying mess, the pain was unbearable but the pain on my heart was killing me. I chose him above myself. IT WAS ALWAYS HIM. My love for him is always presiding and dominant. I won't change a thing even if I got the chance. I will choose him over and over again, even if it meant losing myself in the process. Then everything went black.
