Chapter 30
Since my existence was published to the rest of the family, my work in this household has increased. Jin, practically adopted me as his younger sister.
"Does that mean I get to see you very soon?" He exclaimed happily, quite contrary to the teary eyes from his onion cutting.
"Well, I guess there will be no more flying knives and TV remotes." Jimin passed through the kitchen counter smirking.
"Or the dead scares and invisible annoying stuffs." Taehyung completed for his Jimin.
These dorks were my nemesis. But also they were like my brothers, 'younger brothers' even though they are older than me.
Last day both Kook and I visited the hospital. I was nervous the whole time but he was my strength. I really got to know a lot about me.
I am 23 years old. I lost my parents in that accident and spent my childhood in an orphanage. Na Ra, warden of the place, was really a nice lady. She really cared about me like her own daughter. She said that there was a time when it was impossible to separate me from her. My family became Na Ra and Ji Yoo. Ji Yoo's parents got divorced and she ended up with us since they were busy with their own lives.
I completed my degrees and I even got qualified for a job. I actually got in to one company but couldn't make it. Since that was when I got into that misfortune incident.
One other good thing that happened was I am no longer incapable of breathing. The doctors removed the oxygen mask last night since there was a gradual improvement in my condition. That explains why I had a good night sleep last night. A night with no scary dreams or eerie silence.
Jungkook and I were sure that all this might be because I'm closer to getting back to my own life. My own body.
It was relieving to know I had all these people by my side, wishing for my recovery. They all loved me, I meant a lot to them. All this while I thought I had no one. These seven were the ones who gave me hope that I can always rely on their shoulders. Now to see that I have more people who cared about me really stirred my emotions.
"Will you forget us once you get back?" Suddenly Jin became serious wearing a frown on his face.
'No, I will never forget my family.' I jot down on the paper. We spend some time together on the kitchen. I hung out with them till they all started dispersing to their bedrooms leaving me and Jungkook.
"Come on, let's go to our room." He got up from the couch extending his hand for me to take. He said 'our room' I thought to myself restraining myself from smiling cheekily at him.
I took his hands and got up, "Kook, you go, I will come after a few minutes."
"Why? Aren't you coming with me?"
"No, yes I mean I will come, I just had to go to the basement. I left something there. I will be back soon."
With that I left to the basement. To be honest I didn't leave anything there. What Jin told me earlier in the kitchen actually got inside my head. What if I forget them? I can't stand to live without recognising their faces. They were the people who were with me through thick and thin. They never treated me like a supernatural thing. They always spent time with me like I was no different from them. They never made me feel inferior.
A tear streamed down my eyes and fell to the painting of Jungkook. I didn't realise I was crying staring at his picture. The mere thought of not being able to see 'him' was enough for me to not go back to my body. It is better to die than to forget him and the others. I can't stand to risk what I have now.
I spent some more time there thinking about if I wanted to go back to the normal life or stay like this forever. After composing myself I went back to Jungkook. His was face calm and peaceful. He was already asleep. He was beautiful even when he was sleeping. His lashes brushed against his cheeks and his lips had a hint of a smile. Just a very small smile, which is hard to see, but impossible to forget once you notice.
I quietly got in the edge of the bed and laid down, my back facing him. I don't think I will be able to sleep after all the commotion my mind had gone through. I felt a movement beside me, his hands brushed against my skin as he covered me with the blanket. I turned my face and saw his angelic face smiling. He slowly pulled me closer to him, my back still facing him but his hands wrapped around my waist like he didn't want to let me go, while his face buried in my neck, snuggling closer.
