"Good morning." Dr. Erskine greeted Steve with a handshake. A camera clicked beside us, annoying him. "Please. Not now." Dr. Erskine offered me a reassuring smile and a kiss on my forehead. He was like a father figure to me. I would do anything for him.

"Are you ready?" Steve and I nodded. "Good. Steve, take off your shirt, your tie, and your hat. Cynthia, take off your tie and any jewelry." I nodded and got right to work. Steve looked at me before starting and I looked away. I made sure to keep facing away from him because my emotions were off the walls. It would be embarrassing if I stared or something. I handed my stuff to one of the scientists and Steve did the same.

Dr. Erskine gestured to the two machines. They looked like long, silver capsules with needles on the side. They look like injections. Steve lays down on one and I lay down on the other. My stomach was doing flips and it took everything in me to not jump out and quit. I tried not to look at Peggy because I knew that she was also freaking out. If I looked at her I would freak out even more. Instead I tried to breathe in and out.

"Comfortable?" Dr. Erskine asked Steve. I turned my head on my side to see them. Anything to distract myself. He made eye contact with me and looked back at Dr. Erskine.
"It's a little big," Steve said causing Dr. Erskine to chuckle. I smiled. "You save me any of that schnapps?" I whipped my head up.
"Not as much as I should have. Sorry. Next time."
"Without me!?" I gasped. I pouted. Dr. Erskine chuckled.

"Mr. Stark, how are your levels?" he turned back to our needles. Steve quickly turned his head when he heard his name. I smiled and propped up on my elbows.
"Levels at 100%" he walked to Dr. Erskine. He came up to me and winked.
"Good!"
"We may dim half the lights in Brooklyn, but we are ready." he grinned. "As we'll ever be," he muttered the last part.
"Agent Carter." I lifted my head up. "Other Agent Carter. Sorry. Don't you think you would be more comfortable in the booth?" he ushered her to the stairs.
"Uh. Yes of course. Sorry." she made her way to the stairs. I could sense her trying not to let her nervousness show. She turned once to look at me and Steve and then she kept going up to the booth. Steve and I turned to each other in unison. He smiled at me reassuringly and I tried to do the same to him.
Dr. Erskine tapped on the microphone and it made a high pitched noise that made everyone wince. Breathing was getting harder by the minute. Maybe I shouldn't have volunteered for this. Wait. No! Stop. I am doing this for my country.

"Do you hear me? Is this on?" Dr. Erskine's voice echoed throughout the room. "Ladies and Gentlemen, today we take not another step towards out annihilation, but the first step on the path to peace." he then began explaining the procedure. "We begin with a series of microinjections into the subject's major muscle groups."
They start bringing the serum out.
"The serum infusion will cause immediate cellular change."
They load it into the slots beside us.
"And then, to stimulate the growth, the subject will be saturated with Vita-Rays."
The bring down the weird parts onto our chest areas and give us a shot that makes me flinch.
"That wasn't so bad," Steve whispers. I chuckle, trying to ignore the pain.
"That was penicillin." I pipe up from beside him. He gives turns his head to give me a look that makes me laugh.
"Serum infusion beginning in

Two,
