"What?" Peggy asked Steve. He leaped onto his fee and ran.
"Come on!" he urged us. We put our jackets on our heads and followed.
"It's hard to run in heels, Steve!" I complained.

"Colonel Phillips!" he marched into the tent and walked up to the Colonel with determination in his every stance.
"Well! If it isn't the Star-Spangled Man with a Plan!" Colonel teased with no amusement. " What is your plan today?"
"I need the casualty list from Azzano." he stated, confidently.
"You don't get to give me orders, son." he retorted, shaking his head.
"I just need one name, Sergeant James Barnes from the 107th." he countered.

"You and I are gonna have a conversation later that you won't enjoy." he pointed at Peggy. I tried not to look guilty because I wasn't.

"Please tell me that he's alive, sir. B-A-R-" Steve began.
"I can spell." Colonel interrupted. He paused before getting up. "I have signed more of these condolence letters today than I would care to count. But the name does sound familiar. I'm sorry." he turned towards Steve with his hands on his hips. My heart sank as I took in Steve's face fall.

"What about the others? Are you planning on a rescue mission?" he prodded.
"Yeah, it's called 'winning the war'" Colonel replied as a matter of factly.

"But if you know where they are, why not at least-" Steve asked, confused at his lack of plan.
"They're 30 miles behind the lines." Colonel interrupted again. "Through some of the most heavily fortified territory in Europe. We'd lose more than we'd save. But I don't expect you to understand that because you're a chorus girl." Steve's jaw clenched in annoyance.
"I think I understand just fine."
"Well, then understand it somewhere else." Colonel dismissed. "If I read the posters correctly, you got someplace to be in 30 minutes." Steve looked closely at the map on the desk in front of him.
"Yes, sir. I do." he looked at me in determination before walking out of the tent.

"Is he going to do what I think he's going to do?" I muttered to Peggy.
"I think so." she sighed.
"If you have something to say, right now would be the perfect time to keep it to yourself." Colonel interrupted. I smiled.
