Chapter thirteen.

Lavi's POV

The gate was open when we got in. The place was already filled with teen boys and girls hanging all around the compound. Some were familiars from school and some were obviously from the street of Lagos with their crazy ass attitude on full display.

The birthday girl was no where in sight as James and I strolled in looking around for a more pleasant group to hang with. Up ahead,we caught sight of loveth with her friends and some group of boys from school gathered at the pool side.

Typical

Staring at her from behind. She was putting on a mini blue jean skirt showing off her long slender legs of course. She paired it up with a white crop top and an equally white canvas shoes.

Not bad..

Her braided hair was flowing freely at her back in a sexy way. Loveth looked so different in her party outfit but I bet Katherine was looking better. I just wonder where she could be.

Maybe up in her room making herself even more prettier.

James had caught my attention the moment he cleared his throat.

"What's up bro... You are not paying attention" he shoved me with his elbow.

"I'm not what?"

"Never mind" he scoffed at me.

We got closer to where we were headed and suddenly we were blocked by someone as the figure stood in our way.

What the hell?

"What are you doing here? No one invited you here" he sneered at me.

James and I looked up to realize an ugly face that matches with such a horrendous voice.

Toad face.

"I would have asked you the same question since this isn't your house don't you think?" I replied with a bored expression.

James said nothing as he stood beside me with his arms crossing his chest.

"Maybe you have forgotten so soon but am her boyfriend and you have no right coming over here" he said pointing his index at me.

I scoffed at his comeback. An obvious lame line he decided to use to get under my skin.

"Isn't it bad enough that she picked you over a living Greek god like me? Or do you want me to make it worst by smashing in your face and ruining your chance of having a proper girlfriend in the future?"

He flinch a little as I took a step closer...

"Wow wow wow...that's enough now guys. Don't forget that you both have no right over this property and causing a scene won't be in favor of neither of you so I suggest you both chill out okay?" James had stepped in between us as he looked at obnoxious obi and back at me.

"What's going on here boys?" Another voice had interrupted us as we all turned to stare at who it could be.

The same sweet lady I had met the day I brought Katherine home was looking at all three of us with kind eyes as she wait for our reply.

"Uhm we were just asking after the birthday girl and obi here was just trying to inform us of her where about since we haven't seen her" replied James with a sweet little smile.

"I'm so glad you boys could make it here in such short notice. Do make yourself at home. Katherine will be down shortly" she replied.

"It's a real delight to celebrate with someone as nice as Katherine" I added with a cheeky smile.

"You are right my dear...Katherine will be glad to see you but I have to go see to other things now. So help yourself to anything you want. It's over there" pointing to a cooler seating on a table under the canopy.

We all stared after her as she walked away before turning to obi who wasn't so pleased with the way she had welcomed us. I bet he would have preferred we got kicked out.

Too bad not everyone is as vicious as he is.

"So where were we?" With a raise brow.

We stared at each other for what seemed like a whole minute before he walked away and James and I continued on our own destination.
