Chapter fifteen

Lavi's POV

My eyes darted towards the door way anytime a shadow even do as much as walk through hoping it could be Katherine but sigh in disappointment each time it was one teen or the next.

Aaaah.,...

What's taking her so long?

I'm really having a hard time waiting on my own. James has suddenly been infected with something I don't even understand. He seemed to be too interested in whatever loveth seemed to be telling him at this point because he has been acting weird like a love struck kid.

Speak of strange things happening out of the blue

I need to get another cola before I go crazy. Almost colliding with a skinny girl on a rather skinny black jean on the same mission had me thinking I would have just stayed where I was.

Shit

I reach for the cola and she did same but only one was left. We both grabbed at the bottle at the same time and turned and stared at each other.

"That's mine" her high pitch voice screamed at me.

"I don't think so because we reach for it at the same time" I replied calmly.

"True but I need to have it" she argued not willing to let go

"Why you and not me?" I asked

Honestly speaking. I have no desire to drag a bottle of cola with anyone especially not a girl but I was bored on my own until I met her and trust me. She could pass for some sort of entertainment as she kept rolling her eyes in a dramatic way over and over again.

"Listen here, I need to have this cola because I saw it first so how about you get yourself something else" she snapped at me. Her lips forming a tin line as she eyed me

"Something like what? Fanta or Malta? Cos I was going to recommend the same thing for you too" my voice a hint of mockery.

"Just let go already will you?" She whined.

I opened my mouth to tease her further but caught sight of Katherine and instantly let go of the bottle.

"You know what? You can have it. It's all yours"

Spinning around on my heels; I match towards Katherine who had just emerge from the door way and was heading towards the pool side. She looked so breath taken in her birthday gown that hugged her shape so perfectly. Katherine sure looks like she was headed for the glamour award with such aura of beauty and elegance.

She froze on her step the moment our eyes met.

Just the reaction I was looking forward to.

I shot her with my signature smile with my hands tucked away as I approached her. Her eyes blinked a few times as I stood in front of her. She looked even better, looking at her from such close length but her eyes looked puffy and red.

Has she been crying?

I hope not....

The thought of someone hurting her on a day like this makes my blood boils. She deserves to be happy every single day of her life starting from now.
