Chapter sixteen

Katherine's POV

**

Here I stood; frozen to the ground staring at the one person I didn't invite and hell! My heart was betting on the fact that he'd show up on his own whether he was properly invited or not and he sure did.

The heart is never wrong.

He is looking so dashing from his head down to his toes though hidden away in those amazing shoes he is putting on and even smell nice too as his body spray was stinking my nostrils repeatedly.

A small smile tug at his lips as he looked at me...

I wonder what's going on in his head.

"W-what are you doing here Lavi. I didn't even invite you" I shuttered, staring at him even more.

"C'mon now princess! That's not how to treat someone who have cross the mighty ocean and even slay ferocious dragons just to make it to your birthday" he replied with a hurt expression as his hand snapped to rest against his chest.

I couldn't help but chuckled at his stupid comment and acting skills...

He is such a show off

A very cute show off alright?

"Now tell me something oh mighty dragon slayer. What exactly are you doing here?" I asked again.

He took a step closer as his eyes darted to my lips and back at my face.

He seriously can't be thinking of kissing me out here is he? Not that I will mind if he did.

Looking around in a frantic search. No one seemed to be paying close attention anyways. They all seem too busy to even care.

"Well since you have asked so nicely. I have no other choice but to answer you"

Thank God he wasn't...

"Well?" I asked again

"When I heard that today was going to be your birthday and also couple with the fact that you weren't picking my calls? I just knew I had to come no matter what.. I just needed to be here and to see you my lady" he answered quickly and sincerely.

"Well am glad you came even though I was an arse by not inviting you. I'm still grateful you could make it so thank you" I replied with a smile.

"You do know I'll do anything for you right? Anything!"

"Including slaying invincible dragons for me right?"

"Yeah that too" he chuckled lightly as he scratches at the back of his neck.

He is nervous

"It's nice speaking with you again Lavi but I also need to say hi to the rest of the people here even though I don't even know half of the people am seeing here" I gave a nervous laugh as I glance around.

How do I get through this though

"You seem nervous k" said Lavi as he stared at me.

I'm even that obvious

Shesssh

"You bet I am nervous" I admitted with a shrug

"I can walk with you if you want" he offered.

That will be nice...

"That won't be necessary" replied another voice even though I already have an idea who it might be.

Obi

"No one ask for your opinion toad face" replied Lavi

Not again...God no please

"That's enough now Lavi. Obi will walk me..." His face fell at my replied.

"....and besides, he practically invited everyone here so it'd be better if he goes with me" I quickly added.

He walked away at my comment and I couldn't help but feel so bad about it. I was going to say yes before obi interrupted but I guess I can still apologize to him later.

I turned to face obi who had a rather satisfying look in his eyes.

"That wasn't necessary you know? I can very much make my own decisions without you butting in like that"

"I know you can but I wasn't going to let him steal this moment from me you know?" He smirked at me.

"What moment might that be?" I asked with a raised brow

"Showing you off to everyone I invited to your party as my girlfriend of course"

Now that won't be necessary

I took a step closer than necessary as I stared at him.

"I was meaning to talk to you about that girlfriend of a thing actually" I said calmly

He said nothing as he stared blankly at me.

"What about it?" He asked with a confused expression.

"I wanted us to......" I couldn't even finish my sentence before I got cut off by aunt Nene who was calling me

"I will be right there aunt" I called back.

"I guess whatever you want to tell me can wait?" Said obi

Glancing over at aunt Nene who looked really impatient so I guessed this talk with obi can definitely wait.

"Yes we can talk about it later"
