Chapter forty-nine

Lavi's POV

**

The next week in school was pretty much the same. Exam was still ongoing but they was something different about this day.

Words seem to be going from mouth to ear and I don't want to even know why because it's pretty obvious.

Katherine is pregnant and everyone knows!

"Hey man! What are you doing out here?" Asked James

"Nothing! Just waiting" I answered not paying attention to him

I was indeed waiting for Katherine. I saw her going into the principal office earlier with obi by her side and I can't even begin to imagine why.

I haven't even had a chance to speak with her all weekend and now that she is here; she is back at the principal office talking about God knows what!

Christ!

"Are you waiting for Katherine or obi to beat him up again?" He asked with a bit of humor playing at his tone.

"Why would I do that man? Everyone knows he's a shit face but beating him up? I don't see why" I shrugged.

He shoulder bumped me as he continued to chuckle like a maniac..."you think I don't know? See this guy o" all five fingers pointed at me.

"What are you talking about?" Raising my eye brow at his absurdity.

"You fighting obi and all? You think I don't know why?"

James seem pretty convinced with whatever he was referring to with that serious look in his eyes.

"I don't know what you have heard and from whom so whatever it's; I don't know and point of correction man. Obi came at me not the other way round and still got his arse kicked either way" smiling at the memory of my fist breaking his nose.

"Maybe you're right but it still doesn't change the fact that he got the upper hand right now" with a thoughtful look and that tone of voice that am beginning to hate.

"Do you care to elaborate your point exactly? Because it obvious you know something that I don't so out with it"

"Well am referring to the fact that obi got your girlfriend pregnant man" he shrugged again.

Blink!

Blink again!

Wait for it!

"Where did you hear that rubbish from?" My voice a silent growl.

"He confessed to her dad last week when he came looking for answers"

"No he did not" shaking my head in an attempt to deny the falsity of the word he just uttered cos it can't be truth. I mean he can't be that stupid can he?

"Yes he did bro and if you ask me; I'd say he is pretty bold to come out clean like that" nodding in total admiration.

Fuck that bold bullcrab!

He is fucking insane and he just proved it.

I can have him stab me on the chest and die with a smile even but claiming what's mine is the limit. That shit face has really asked for it this time around and he better be ready for what's coming.

Now I get his threat! That toad face had this moment planned out already and heck! He'd be dreaming if he can imagine for a second that my child will ever be his.

With a new kind of rage rushing through my vein. I charged towards the principal office.

"Where are you going man?" Asked James as he picked up the pace beside me.

"To reclaim what's mine!"

He ran ahead and stood in front of me with his arm outstretched obviously in an attempt to stop me.

"C'mon man! You can't run off like that especially not after what you just told me. What do you mean by reclaiming what's yours"

Beating this hands off; I yelled back at him..."I got her pregnant okay? Not that shit face"

His hands slumped to his sides as he stare back at me.

"You did what? I mean how could you bro...you got her pregnant?"

"....Now I get the fight between you two" he continued to pace around in circle figuring out everything for himself.

Gosh, he'd be a good lawyer some day!

It's good that his brain is working faster than his mouth right now because I don't have time to explain myself either way. The little anyone knows, the better!

Shoving him aside; I strode ahead.

"Wow wow! Hold up man...you can't just barge into the principal office like that. Are you crazy? You need to calm down and think straight! This whole thing could be a serious misunderstanding" pulling me back to face him.

"This is not a misunderstanding James! He is doing it on purpose to spite me because I have what he can only dream of getting" my voice a mixture of pain and rage as I shout at him.

Some group of junior students walked by and began to whisper among themselves while glancing at me.

Shit!

"Do you have something to say to my face?" Yelling at them as they quicken their steps and hurried away.

"Calm down man or you will attract the attention of some staffs and you sure as hell don't want that right now" pulling me towards the opposite direction.

Stopping in my tracks, I pulled my hand out of his grip.

"I'm not letting him claim what's mine"

"Well you don't have to! Just think of Katherine. Why would she agree to something like that"

Katherine!

Why didn't I think of her sooner.

Why is she even doing this? I Can't even come up with a reason as to why she would even agree to it but whatever it's; I have to find out what!

"Maybe he is blackmailing her or something but whatever it's? I won't allow it"

"Then you need to hear her out before you do something stupid!"

His word sank deeper into my skull as I began to calm down breath by breath. Katherine would never agree to a thing like that without a reason. I just hope her reason will be worth it.
