Chapter 5: Chasing Electrifying Dreams

Goh's POV:

Ash and Serena had went off together to get some camping supplies from a hiker so I was left to protect the area. I sat cross-legged under a tree and sighed.

I don't know what was going on with me today. Why am I acting so depressed?

Maybe it's because I just want to finally reunite with Mew so much that anything else that happens to break my trance made me furious. Is it normal to be this obsessed with a dream?

So with that, I tried to distract myself by thinking of Ash. He is just such a fun, lovable and cute goofball who only ever thinks about Pokémon, battles and food.

Him and Pikachu have such a great bond with each other, which is adorable because I've never seen a trainer and pokémon connect with each other so well.

And then I thought of how Serena had now joined out group. Sure it will be a lot of fun to have a third person travelling around the world with us, but something about it made me feel... jealous?

I don't know, but the fact that we bow have a girl with us... who has known Ash longer than I have... and girls are usually attracted to boys...

I honestly don't know where I'm going with this. Luckily, the two finally came back with supplies and I was happy that they were here to drag me out of my misery.

We decided that we wanted Fancy Apple curry so I gathered some that were lying on the ground and Serena began cooking.

Serena is apparently very good at baking Poképuffs so I want to see how well she does with this.

After a few minutes of the honey-blonde haired girl stirring alls the ingredients in the pot, it was done! She then poured some of the Fancy apple curry onto our plates and gave Pikachu a bowl of Pokémon food.

And to my suprise, the food was actually very delicious! I ended up finishing the whole plate really quickly so I don't know why I ever doubted her...

But suddenly, I heard something from behind me. I turned around, but nothing was there.

"Is there something wrong, Goh?" Ash asked, a concerned look on his face.

"Oh, I guess it was just nothing!" I replied, a little confused at whatever I had just heard behind me.

But then, when I watched Serena finally finish her food, I heard some running from behind me again.

This time, I then stood up and turned around. But once again, there was nothing. Was I going crazy?

Serena's POV:

I finally finished my Fancy Apple curry but when I looked up, I was suprised to see Goh standing up, back turned to us as he scanned the area.

"Are you sure you are okay Goh, should we head back?" I asked, then deciding to collect all of the spotless plates.

"I'm not too sure, maybe I'll just go have a look around to take my mind off of it," Goh replied.

"Okay, I'll come too!" Ash said, immediately getting out of his seat, Pikachu then jumping onto his shoulder.

I was a little sad that Ash was going off with the jet black haired boy rather than helping me pack up but I just shrugged it off.

"Okay, you two go on ahead and I'll catch up in a minute!" I said.

The two boys nodded in response and then ran off in what felt like the speed of light.

Goh's POV:

When we got Serena's consent, me and Ash immediately dashed down the path together. I didn't know exactly why we were running, I was just copying what Ash was doing.

"So what exactly did you hear anyway?" Ash asked.

"I don't know," I said and then tried to explain, "If just felt like I could hear and feel something running so quickly behind me,"

"Hmmm, maybe it was a Pokémon, maybe it's that super rare one that Professor Cerise was talking about!" The raven-haired boy suggested.

"Maybe you're right!" I replied.

Because if you think, it would make a lit of sense. The photo of that rare pokémon was quite blury, and it looked like it was running as quick and we were right now. But also, it could always be Mew...

That thought got quickly marked off as soon as we made it to Motostoke Riverbank, we saw that waiting by the stairs, was a sleeping Pokémon. And that pokémon, looked a lot like the shadow from the picture.

Ash being Ash, immediately ran straight over to it, probably wanting to battle with it. But as soon as the pokémon heard the loud footsteps of Ash running towards it, it jumped to its feet immediately and dashed away.

I then ran over to Ash and Pikachu.

"What was that?" I asked, a little disappointed that it probably wasn't Mew.

"I don't know, but it looks really cool!" Ash replied, sounding more extatic than usual, "But I have to battle it!"

"Pikachu!" Pikachu agreed, grinning.

I put my hands on my hips and then chuckled, "Of course you do!"

"Well then, let's go chase after it!" Ash said.

I would gave nodded instantly, but then I remembered we would be leaving Serena behind. I guess we just aren't used to have a third person to wait for that we just forgot that she was with us.

"What about Serena?" I asked.

Both us then turned towards where we were with Serena, but the blue camping tent and her were no where to be seen.

"I'm sure she'll be fine!" Ash replied, "Now let's get going!"

I knew I couldn't make him wait any longer so I smiled in agreement and we then followed the path the rare pokémon had been running on.

After a while of running, I then spotted the pokémon once again. Before it could see us, I pushed Ash into a bush and jumped in with them.

"Hey, what was that-" Before the raven-haired boy could even finish his sentence, I quickly put my hand on his lips to silence for him.

His lips felt so smooth, I wonder what other would feel like if I kissed him on those lips-

Uhhhhhh, what am I even thinking? I need to concentrate on the pokémon- oh right, it's gone now...

I quickly took my hand off of him and had to look away so he wouldn't realise how flustered I was. Not that he would notice anyway, he is super dense.

We both got up from the bush and continued following trail and as we did so, I couldn't help but feel guilty. What if we just didn't see Serena but she was actually running to catch up with us, but we had run off without noticing. I have no idea where she is and even though I've only known her for a day, I'm worried.

Once we finally caught up with the rare and mysterious pokémon again, we were very quiet. And Ash was able to start a battle with it.

"Okay Pikachu, use Thunderbolt!" Ash commanded.

"Pika-chhuuuu!" Pikachu cried as he launched a ball of electricity.

It looked like the pokémon didn't actually take too much damage from that, and honestly this pokémon looked like it was an Electric type itself.

Ash continued battling even though Pikachu could barely land a single attack until we heard a noise.

"Ash! Goh! Where have you been? I've been looking everywhere for you!" Serena said.

She was walking towards us until she saw the pokémon that Ash was battling.

"Ahhhh! What is that?" She screamed, running over to Ash to hide behind his back.

"It's that pokémon from the blurry photo, although we have no idea what it actually is!" Ash explained the best he could.

I them realised there was something I hadn't tried yet, I had never tried to scan the pokémon for the Pokédex. Even though I've never seen it before, maybe it has!

I took out my Rotom Phone and tried,

"Zapdos, Galarian form. A Fighting and Flying type. One kick from its powerful legs will pulverize a dump truck. Supposedly, this Pokémon runs through the mountains at over 180 mph." My Rotom Phone explained.

"That's a Zapdos? I've never seen one like that before!" Ash exclaimed, still highly focused on the battle.

"Well it says it's a Galarian form, so this must be its home!" I realised.

Galarian Zapdos was getting tired of what felt like an endless battle and then ran away. It ran all the way back to Motostoke Riverbank and then down North Lake Miloch, out of sight by that point.

I walked back over to Ash and Serena and she then explained where she had been

"I was packing up everything and I tried to catch up with you two but then you ran away again! Chasing you two is so exhausting!" Serena explained and the sighed.

We all laughed about it and then Ash said that we should probably start heading back to Kanto because it was getting late. With that, I got on Flygon and Ash and Serena got on Dragonite and we flew back...

Serena's POV:

It was a long and exhausting day so we decided to head back to Cerise Laboratory. I got a little too clingy on Ash's back again so both Goh and Chloe had to get me off of him.

Goh told me that I could hear up to the bedroom and that him and Ash would report back to Professor Cerise for me.

"Thank you!" I replied and headed upstairs.

I got into my pyjamas and shortly after that their was a knock on my door.

"Could I come in?" It was Chloe!

"Yes of course!" I replied, thrilled to chat with her again.

She opened the door and entered the room. The marron haired girl then sat down on Ash's bed so she could chat with me.

"So, how was your day?" Chloe asked, putting her hands on her knees and leaning closer so she could hear me better.

"It was great! A little hectic and tiring but amazing! We got to see a Galarian Zapdos!" I replied.

"A Galarian Zapdos? What is that?" Chloe said, a quizzical expression on her face.

"It's like a Kantonian Zapdos but it doesn't use its wings and just runs around instead!" I tried to explain as best as possible.

"Well it sounds really cool!" Chloe said.

There was a little silence until I could think of what to say.

"So how was your day at school?"

"It was okay, but definitely not as fun as your day, I wish I could have joined!" The maroon girl admitted, twirling her plait around to try and hide the fact that she was blushing.

I blushed as well at the sight of her looking so cute, but I knew I had to distract myself.

"Maybe next time..." I finally said.

"Well, I think I'm going to leave you to yourself because my dad is going to drive me back to our house in a minute!" Chloe exclaimed suddenly l, standing up and walked over to the door.

"Okay, see you tomorrow!" I said, waving goodbye to her.

"Bye!" She waved back and the closed the door behind her.

There was a awkwardly quiet silence until I decided that I just needed to get some sleep because I was exhausted.

I turned off the lights and found a comfortable position. Then, very quickly, I drifted off into a peaceful sleep...
