Who does she think she is?! How dare she turn me down and question what I was feeling?!

Out of frustration I screamed and bolted. The door slammed so loud I'm sure someone would've risen up from their grave. But I don't fucking care. She doesn't so I wouldn't.

I hurriedly marched down the staircase walking down five flights of stairs in just a few minutes. I kept mumbling to myself—still not believing after everything I've told her and what we've been through. I was angry—enraged, that she refused to listen to me—her girlfriend, and believed someone else over the truth I was trying to tell her.

I stopped walking.

Was I being too spoiled? Should I have listened to what she was supposed to say? Or at least waited for her explanation? Was I being rash about it?

I heaved a heavy sigh at turned back. Maybe we should just talk it out. Maybe she's just scared. Maybe...

Realization hit me hard.

"Fuck!" I yelled and started to walk back towards the building where I left. "Fuck fuck fuck fu—"

"AHHHHHHH!"

My head immediately shot up as I heard someone scream. A swift blow of cold air sent shivers down my spine as I witnessed something—someone, fall from the sky.

What the actual fuck?!

Before I could fully absorb what was in front of me, the thing crashed on top of the parked cars at the side of the building. Then the car alarm–also that of the cars close to it, blasted. Almost deafening me at how loud it was.

Like any other person would do, I immediately rushed towards what it seemed like an accident to check on what it was. My heart stopped as I saw an arm, dangling lifeless on top of the wrecked car and a familiar golden bracelet with a mixture of rubies and topaz embellished on it.

It can't be.

For some reason, I felt the urge to walk closer. I did. But in every step I took, I felt my chest constrict. I couldn't breathe. My shoulders were moving as my chest rises and falls. But it was as though there wasn't enough air around me. I clutched the knot of my necktie and pulled it as my gaze locked at the person's wrist. The closer I get the clearer I see the details. Details of the bracelet that was oddly similar to mine.

No. Please. Please don't let it be her! Not her. Not

Blood slowly dripped from her arm coating the stones of the bracelet then down to her fingers. My eyes followed it until it fell to the pavement and I felt my knees go weak. I forced myself to stand and to run towards her but my knees buckled. I fell down. My hands were shaking as I pushed myself up. My chest tightening as air disappeared from where I was. But I managed to sprint towards the lifeless body. I saw her face. Her beautiful, serene face...

"No... No... No! NO! NO!!!"

I screamed. I couldn't control myself as my screams grew louder. Everything around me started to blur. I didn't even notice that there were other people until I felt someone stop me from climbing up the top of what used to be a car. As I was being pulled away, I tried to break free from their grasp. I wanted to see her. I wanted to touch her. I wanted to feel her. I wanted her.

I see people mumbling but I couldn't hear anything. I saw the red and blue light of the paramedics' vehicle pull over yet I hear nothing but a distinct high-pitched sound that made everything else go mute.

"Let go of me! Let go!" I screamed as I tried to push everyone away from me. But their grasps were far stronger than mine as I've been outnumbered. "Let me fucking go!"

The high pitched ring inside my ear came back as her lifeless body was being carried by the paramedics. My throat ran dry as I saw her soulless eyes met with mine as the stretcher passed by me.

"N-No..." my voice cracked and felt a tear roll down my cheek.

All of a sudden, images of her came flooding inside my head. Like a montage filled with snippets of the moments we were together. Her cheeky smile. Her contagious laugh. The way she'd scrunch up her nose the moment she gets annoyed. Or the way she pouts adorably just to get her way. Or the way she gets angry and threatens to stab me whenever I tease her. Or the way she cries at any movie as long as an animal was involved...

Her eyes full of life was now dead. Soulless. Empty. Yet they stared at me like they wanted to tell me something.

As her body was carried to the ambulance I wanted to jump inside as well and hold her hands tightly. I know she's not dead. She can't be dead. I won't let that happen! With all the energy that I had, I broke free from the people holding me back. I ran towards the vehicle but it closed and sped away before I could get in.

No!

"No!" I yelled as I ran after it. "Don't! Please! Autumn! Au—"

I tripped and fell. But that did not stop me. I still ran. I ran until I fell again. And again. I ran until I couldn't. Please... Until her name rolled out of my lips like a whisper and everything went pitch black.

"Autumn... Please...."

Maybe this was just a dream...

A nightmare...

I wish it was...

But it was not.

When I woke up the next day, they told me she died. Autumn is dead. And I, killed her.
