Diamond POV

"Mom do I have to go to school" I begged her.

"No you don't but you have to makeup for the homework you're gonna miss"

I nodded my head and ran up the stairs.

Yesterday when I went to the mall I only bought my clothes. I also put my hair and nails appointment.

I offered to pay for Ruby to get her hair and nails done but, she declined. She said that she already put a hair appointment for next week.

I had to get ready for the dinner tonight. I really want to impress Sam's parents.

Once my mom left I went down to the kitchen to get some breakfast. I was already dressed and ready to go to the mall.

I ate some eggs and bacon with orange juice. I checked the time and gasped. I gotta go pick up Ruby.

She sent me her address a few minutes ago. I grabbed my car keys and phone and walked out the front door.

Minutes later I pulled up to the address Ruby sent me. I have to say where she lives is beautifully decorated.

I walked into the building and I'm  immediately greeted by a smiling lady with brown eyes and light brown skin tone.

"Hello my name is Jesse Jackson. How may I help you ma'ma?" the lady said politely.

"I'm here to visit my friend Ruby"

"Thank you for not leaving" she said with a genuine smile on her face.

I guess she knows about Ruby's past friends.

"Its easy to stay when the person is like a sister to you"

"She's right in that room" Ms. Jackson said as she pointed to the room with the pink door.

I walked towards the room and knocked on the door. Seconds later Ruby opened the door.

I saw a glimpse of her room and busted open the door. Her room is like a princess wonderland.

Everything is pink. Even though I hate pink her room looks amazing.

"Well hello to you too" Ruby said as she laughed.

"Your room is awesome" I said as I bounced on her soft bed. It feels like memory foam.

"Thank you, Jesse designed it for me when I was 13" Ruby said.

Oh that explains the whole pink situation. She was going through her girly girl phase.

"You ready to go" Ruby asked as she picked up her purse.

I wanted to say she could leave without me but, I had appointments to go to.

"We definitely need to have a sleepover here one day"

"How about next Friday, it could be like a girls night"

"Sounds good to me"

I got off of her bed and hesitantly walked away from it. I just met her bed and I'm already in love with it.

We walked out of the her room and into my car. Once I sat down I started the car and turned up the radio.

I can't drive in pure silence. The radio is a must for me.

Ruby and I started singing along to Love by Kendrick Lamar.

Before we knew it we arrived in front of the mall. Time flys when you're having fun.

We stepped out of the car and walked towards the mall. The mall was packed today. I'm surprised I found a  parking spot.

"Would you like to try some fried shrimp with barbeque sause" this lady said as we walked towards the nails store.

I nodded my head and picked up a cup with the shrimp and sause on it.

I was in heaven. The shrimp was crispy and the barbeque sauce was a little tangy.

I picked up the whole tray from her and walked away with it. Ruby was laughing her ass off.

I'm sorry but the shrimp was too good. And to make it worst the little tray she had about 20 shrimps on it.

By the time we went into the beauty parlor Ruby and I already ate all the shrimps were on the tray.

We placed the tray on the newest table and walked into the parlor. I wiped my hands on my jacket and walked up to the front desk.

"Hellos how's may I helps yur" the lady said in broken English.

"I'm here for an appointment with Macy" I said.

"Nos boo boo, whys you speaking so white?" The lady asked me.

I hate when people ask me that question. Just because I don't speaking broken English I speak white.

I'm educated so, I have to talk like I am. I don't see the problem with speaking proper English. 

"I'm here for  hair appointment, not a lesson on how to talk like a you. Now can you please tell Macy that I'm here for my appointment" I said with anger.

The lady's mouth hung open for like one mintue until she finally closed it and diverted her eyes to the computer screen.

"Right this way ma'am"

So she does know how to speak proper English. I guess it just took someone knocking sense into her.

She lead us over to a empty seat and I sat down.

"And Ruby you sit here" she said pointing to the chair next to me.

Ruby looked at the lady confused then her eyes drifted to me. I smiled while she rolled her eyes at me.

"I'm sorry but it's a mistake"

"No it's not"

"I'm sorry but it's already paid for"

Ruby slowly sat down and crossed her arms. I know she didn't want me to pay for her hair but, I just had to.

I know she didn't really set an appointment for next week. She just didn't want me to pay for her.

She's gonna be real mad when she founds out I'm also paying for her nails.

After 3 long hours our hair was finally finished. Rubt and I looked like a completely different person.

We didn't even recognise ourselves.

Next up was out nails. We walked into the Chinese place and was immediately greeted by the strong smell of nail polish and chemicals.

That smell makes my head hurt but I gotta get beautified.

We sat down and waited for our names to be called. While we were waiting I dug threw my purse and took out two honey buns.

I'm sorry but my purse has everything in there. It had gum, food, drinks, and other things.

That's just how I am.

I handed one to Ruby and started to eat. Right when we were done eating the lady walked toward us and asked for our appointment time.

"Ruby and I have our appointments scheduled for 3:15"

Ruby slapped my arm.

"Stop paying for me"

"Nope"

"Ok you could come right this way"

She lead us to two empty seats and sat us down. After a few minutes a bald Vietnamese man with brown eyes walked up to me.

A tall Vietnamese young man with blue eyes sat in front of Ruby.

I sat in that toxic room for about 2 hours while my nails were getting done.

That strong smell was slowly killing me. I didn't think I would have sat there for a minute longer.

At Diamnond's house

"You get the bathroom and I'll get my room" I told Ruby.

We just came from the mall and we were exaughted. We had a long day.

By the time it was eight we were done with everything. I had to drive back to Ruby's place to get her outfit.

We split up and took our outfits with us. I can't wait to see how Ruby and I look like over all.

I grabbed my all black outfit. I put it on and whistled. I look like a bad bitch.

My hair was what tied my outfit together.

I decided to put on my favorite Josleyn Greene leather skirt today. I love her type of clothes. It's like it's made for girls like me.

Minutes later Ruby walked out.

She was looking like a full course meal. Her nails was perfect.

Even though she didn't want to get her hair or nails done I still forced her too.

"Bitchhhhhhh"

"Bitchhhhhhh"

We both said at the same time. I must admit, we look sexy was fuck.

Even though I was feeling my self for a moment it all went away once I thought about Sam's parents.

What if they don't like me?

What if I mess up?

With all those questions swirling through my head I lost all my confidence.

"Don't worry, they'll love you" Ruby said reassuringly.

I nodded my head and grabbed my car keys. I checked myself in the mirror one more time before I motioned for Ruby to follow me.

Let's just hope tonight goes as planned.
