Chapter 17

I got up from my crouched position behind the couch and walked up to the asshole.

I slapped Sam across his chest as he laughed at my reaction to his little prank.

"When did you get that mask?"

"It was in my jacket pocket the whole time" he said proudly.

Why was he proud? I had no idea.

He walked up to me and unfolded my arms. He pulled me into a hug and kissed the top of my head.

"Daddy is sorry my princess" he mumbled on my head.

"It's OK, I forgive you."

He kissed my forehead and led me back to the couch. He pressed play on the movie and pulled me to his chest.

He put the blanket on the both of us as I picked up the bowl of popcorn. I snuggled into his side and watched the rest if the movie in peace.

"Princess tomorrow is our first adventure. Be ready." Sam said.

The movie finished a while ago. We are now just lying on my bed talking about random things.

I answered an OK and snuggled up to his side. He wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me closer.

"Do you want to play 10 questions?" Sam asked after a moment of silence.

"Sure".

"What's your favorite color princess?"

"Blue. What's yours?"

"Same".

After a couple of simple questions like my favorite color or food it got deep.

Really deep.

"What's one thing no one knows about you?" Sam questioned.

There are a lot of things no one knew about me. I don't trust anyone outside of my family with my personal information.

But with Sam it's different. I feel like I could tell him everything about myself and he will keep to himself.

There is one thing that no one will ever know about me though.

What should I tell Sam?

"I have Heterochromia" I said. I immediately covered my mouth after the words came out. I didn't mean to tell him I have Heterochromia. It was word vomit.

"What's that?" He asked with a confused face. Now I have no choice but to tell him what it is.

"It means I have two different color eyes. I inherit that trait from my mom's side of the family."

He examined my eyes and he noticed that they were both brown. He had a confused look on his face because he didn't notice a difference in my eyes.

"I'm wearing contacts." I said after he killed half of his brain cells trying to see the difference. He nodded his head but, he still didn't look away.

"Can I see?" He asked.

I already told him I have Heterochromia, might as well show him.

But, I'm scared. My eyes were one of the main reasons why I got bullied at my old school and throughout middle school and grade school. I don't want to show Sam my eyes and he thinks I'm weird.

Because I have two different eye colors I've been called many things like cyborg, loser, weirdo, and my favorite one freak. When I switched schools I changed everything about myself. I cut my hair, I started wearing contacts, and I blinded into the crowd. I wasn't the happy girl I was two years ago.

I walked up the mirror that was on my vanity and careful took out the contacts. Before I turned to Sam I looked at my eyes first. One of them was light brown and the other one was light blue.

My mom's eyes were the opposite of mine. She had a dark brown eye and a dark blue eye.

Her eyes were less noticeable because of the darker color hers eyes was. If you looked closely at her eyes you would notice it.

I walked over to my bed and sat down next to Sam.

He looked at my eyes and gasped. He didn't say anything. He didn't move an inch. He was just frozen. I knew I shouldn't hav...

"Princess, you look beautiful" he whispered still in shock.

What did he just say? Are we looking at the same pair of eyes?

"You don't think I'm a freak?"

"You look different. You look gorgeous." He said still looking at my eyes.

"Wait, who called you a freak?" He asked me once he noticed what I said. He looked like he was about to explode. His ears and face were a dark red color.

"No one important." I answered back. He looked at me for a while but then nodded his head. I know he wanted to know but, he didn't want to force me to tell him.

I'll tell him all in due time.

"How about you? What's one thing no one knows about you?"

He thought about it for a while until a smile spread across his face.

"I have a tattoo" he said happily.

I never saw Sam as the tattoo type. Never in a million years would I either.

Next thing I know he's taking off his long sleeve shirt. I covered my eyes because I know if I looked in his direction I wouldn't look away anytime soon.

"You can look princess".

I slowly took my hands from my eyes and looked at Sam. I made sure I met his eyes and not his stomach.

I gasped once I looked at his out stretched arm. It looks like a place you'll find in a book or you see in a dream. It looked amazing against his pale skin tone.

"That's cool Sam " I said as I ran my fingers up and down his ink covered arms.

"Thanks. Do you have one?" He asked in a joking matter.

"Yes I do" I whispered softly.

He looked at me in shock. I could have easily lied to Sam and said no but I wouldn't feel right.

It would feel like I'm lying to my mom. I would never lie too her. I'll feel too horrible afterwards.

I knew he was going to ask me to see it so I got myself ready for it. I went to my closet and picked up my grey shorts.

I went over to one of my drawers and got my baby oil and a wash cloth. Sam was watching my every move.

"I'll be back to show you the tattoo". He smiled and laid back on my bed.

I closed the bathroom door behind me as I placed the baby oil and wash cloth on the top of the sink. I stripped from my previous clothes and put on the shorts.

After the shorts were on I grabbed the cloth and simmered some baby oil on it. When the cloth was damp I placed it on the side of my thigh. I watched as the waterproof makeup I put on their started to appear on the once white cloth.

Once all the makeup was gone I looked at the huge tattoo that was on the side of my thighs and frowned.

The memories that came with the tattoo was too much for me to think about right now.

I ran my fingers over the black and grey roses that came from my side to my thighs. It still feels fresh and new.

The reason why I got it is engraved into my brain forever. I will always remember that moment.

I walked out of the bathroom and Sam shot up from my bed. As I got closer to him I saw his eyes get bigger and bigger.

Once I was standing in front of him he ran his finger through out my body and gasped every time he took a good look at it.

"You win" he said as he looked into my eyes.

This is the first time in a long time I've been bare in front of someone.

I didn't have on my contacts or makeup to hide my tattoo. I was plain old me.

The real me.
