I am sorry for not updating for a while. I couldn't update due to my work. It has been little hectic from few days.

Ashni POV:

Once Roshan dropped me, I went inside with all smiles and saw mom and dad sitting in the hall. I was little sorry. I should have informed them atleast that I will be late.

"Hi Mom, Dad. Had dinner?" I asked.

They gave a look to me.

"Okay, I am really sorry. Roshan arranged a really good dinner. And I didn't keep track of time. Really sorry. I wouldn't do like this again. I promise." I said.

"Did he arrange a candle light dinner next to a lake and then also had a musicians for a lovely dance under the stars?" My dad asked.

I was shocked. How does he know? I thought to myself.

"How do you know Dad?" I asked him.

"That man got a taste just like mine." He said smiling to mom. And she smiled.

"What?" I asked, as I am still confused.

"Your dad also gave me such a surprise to me on a valentine's day, in the first year of our marriage. That's why he is proud. " Mom said. I smiled.

"So you guys are not mad at me?" I asked them.

"We are not mad. But we were worried. We don't know this guy. We know that you may be starting a new relationship. And we will be happy as long as you are happy. But we also want to know him, meet him once so that we can be assured that you are in safe hands. We trust you with hands. But you are our only child and we want nothing but your safety and happiness." Dad said.

"You sound just like my dad." Mom said to dad.

"Thanks dad. I love you. I know you haven't met. But soon I will bring him home, you both can meet him." I said.

"That would be great. Now go and sleep, it's already late." Mom said. I gave them both a good night kiss and went inside my room. I changed and got under my blanket and opened my phone.

I had a lot of messages from Roshan.

"I hope your parents weren't mad at you. Please let me know."

"I am so sorry. May be I should have come inside and apologized to them."

"Ashni, please reply quickly."

Oh wow, he is so worried. I thought of calling him instead of typing.

"Hello Ashni, is everything okay?" He asked as soon as he picked my call.

"Roshan, please relax. They didn't say anything. They just wanted to make sure that I was with someone they can trust and I am safe. I am their only child. They can never get mad at me." I said.

"Wow, that's wonderful. I was worried that you got into trouble because of me." He said.

"No you didn't. I have to be thankful to you for the wonderful night. It was one of the best night ever." I said.

"I am really happy that you had a great time and I didn't disappoint you." He said.

"You will never disappoint me." I said.

"Really? So I do have a great affect on you. I was hoping may be I can take you out again." He said.

"When?" I asked really excitedly.

"Oh boy. You are really excited already. We just had our first date." He said.

"So what we had today was a date?" I asked him to poke him.

"Whatelse do you think it was?" He said.

"You never said that it's a date. So I was just wondering." I said.

"Don't worry on our next one, I will make many things clear. And you will have no confusion on what we are and what I can do." He said boldly.

"What? Okay bye, Good night 😊" I said and I was about to cut the call before he teases more.

"Wait one second, tomorrow I will come to pick you up. Is that okay?" He asked.

"Sure. It wouldn't be a problem. Thanks. And Can I ask you something?" I said. This time I wanted to ask him something serious.

"Sure, go ahead." He said.

"Frankly we never had a proper talk on this. What is this that we are having?" I asked.

"As I said, you will get perfect clarity about me and about us too. Just wait. Good night. And before anything, you are the best person and I adore you. Bye." He said and disconnected the call.

Wow that was quick. But now I can't wait for our next date. Today the way he held me and gave forehead kisses. I just enjoyed his every gesture. I loved the time I spent with him. It was really special. And at the end, I wish we had few more minutes before I was pulled back into reality. I know I sound like a chepo right now. But still😉😉.

With him in my dreams, I went to sleep.

Next morning..

Once I got up I realised that Roshan was coming to pick me up. So I decided to get ready well. To put in more efforts, I always like the way he looks and smile at me. So I want to look good, FOR HIM.

I wore a simple yet classic yellow kurti with a scarf and applied a light make-up. I want to look good for him but again I have to go to hospital for duty so I have to balance it.

I was excited and went out to have breakfast with my parents.

"Good morning everyone" I said.

"Good morning dear, you look so pretty. Is Roshan coming to pick you up?" My mom asked.

"How do you know?" I asked as I am surprised.

"I also used to make efforts, curl my hair to get attention of your dad." Mom said.

"Ya, but I wasn't weak man. I didn't give her the attention that she wanted." Dad added.

"Ya. That's true. That's why we are here now, together, with a daughter." My mom said mockingly. I laughed. We continued to talk and finished breakfast.

I was waiting for Roshan for a while now. But he didn't show up. I tried calling him but he didn't pick up the calls.

"Ashni, Roshan is not here yet?" Dad asked.

"I think he is stuck in a emergency surgery." I said. I guess so.

"Do you want us to drive you to the hospital?" He asked.

"No dad. You both please carry on. I will take a cab." I said.

"Take care dear." They said and left.

And then I got a call. I got excited thinking it's Roshan. But it was Icha calling me.

"Hello Icha." I said.

"Ashni, where are you?" She asked.

"I am at home. Roshan said he will pick me up. But he didn't come yet. Are you at the hospital.? Can you check if he got an emergency surgery to attend or patients?" I asked.

"Yes, I called you to tell about that. Actually..." She went quite.

"Actually what? What happened?" I asked.

"Actually Dr. Roshan is in the hospital. But he is actually here with a girl. They came together and are in his cabin now. And they seem very close." She said.

I am really confused now. He told me that he will pick me up but he went with another girl. Who is she? Is she just his friend? If he wasn't picking me up, he could have atleast inform. He didn't pick my calls too. Here I was waiting for him like an idiot. Great.

"Ashni, are you there?" I heard Icha on phone.

"Yes I am. Okay it's fine. May be she is his friend. I will come in a cab. See you all in a bit." I said and then I booked a cab and left for hospital. I am really mad at him right now. But again, I don't want to jump into conclusions and misunderstand him. May be it was an emergency, and she is just his friend. I tried to be positive on my way to the hospital.

I went into interns room once I reached the hospital.

Ahana was there.

"Where are others?" I asked after greeting morning.

"Icha and Anrag are on rounds. And I just finished assisting in a surgery. So I took a small break." She said.

"What about others?" I asked again.

"Who else?" She asked confused.

"She is asking about Dr. Roshan." Icha came in saying this. I didn't say much, and started to put on my coat.

"They are still in his cabin." And she answered my question.

"Oh okay." I said.

"Are you okay?" She asked.

"I am fine. I am just a little upset that he didn't atleast inform me. That's it." I said.

"Okay relax. Once she leaves, you go and talk to him" Ahana said. I nodded.

"Don't think too much. Things will be fine. Try to divert your mind on other things." Icha said. I said yes and left to my ward for regular rounds.

After a few minutes as Icha said, I immersed myself into work. And when I went to Dr. Lilly to submit the files of the patients who are up for discharge.

"Hello Dr. Lilly. Here are the files." I gave her the files.

"Oh Hi Ashni. Thanks a lot. Give me two minutes to check and confirm." She said.

I sat across her. And she started to check the files for all the required details and to ensure that discharge is the right decision.

"Everything looks good Ashni. Good work." She said. I thanked her and smiled.

"Few of these case files need signature from Dr. Roshan or Dr. Priyam for discharge." She said.

"Oh okay. Who is free?" I asked.

"I think better go to Dr. Priyam. Dr. Roshan is busy with a guest." She said. And when she mentioned that, it means that she didn't leave yet. How long. But I wanted to know who it is.

"Oh who is the guest? " I asked casually.

"Oh that's his friend. " She said. I sighed.

"Actually his ex-girlfriend. They had a pretty good connection as they were bestfriends too. But for career she moved away. That's why they spilt." She added and that's when my heart broke.

"Oh wow. Is she back for getting back to him now?" I asked.

"Not sure. But they have been in that cabin for a long time. We never know what they could possibly be doing😉." She said winking a eye at me. I awkwardly smiled at her.

Oh god. Is that what they have been doing? Are they getting back? Is that why he didn't contact me? Is she more beautiful than me? Are they really that close? If he was in a relationship before, why didn't he tell me before? Why did he say that he never felt special with anyone like he felt with me?

Too many questions were popping in my head that I felt like it might explode.🤯

"What happened?" Dr. Lilly asked which brought me back to this girl.

"Nothing. I will get started on these signatures. I will go and meet Dr. Priyam." I said and left from there.

When I was on the way to Dr. Priyam's cabin, I came across Anrag.

"Where are you going?" He asked.

"To Dr. Priyam's cabin for signatures in these files." I said.

"Oh okay. Did you see Dr. Roshan?" He asked.

"No. I think he is busy with his ex-girlfriend." I said with a irritated tone.

"Wow. Someone's seems to be jealous." He said. I ignored him and moved forward.

"But Dr. Priyam is busy in OT." He said.

"Oh ok. Then I think I have no option but to go to Dr. Roshan." I said left from there.

*In the background, Dr. Priyam is not busy. Anrag just lied to Ashni.*

I went infront of his cabin. And I was assuring myself that I can handle this before I go in. And that's when I heard them laughing. I got so jealous at that moment which I never felt in my life. But I have to do this. So I knocked on the door. I heard him saying Come In. And then I entered his cabin and I saw her. She sat across Roshan and she looked absolutely stunning and damn confidence. No doubt that if she wants him back, he will not hesitate to say yes even for a second.

And then my eyes landed on Roshan. Who was looking handsome as ever. Ashniiiiiii. What are you thinking. Focus. Don't forget that he ignored you completely as soon as his ex-girlfriend came in.

"Good morning sir. I need your signatures on these files for discharge." I said handing him the files. And I completely maintained professionalism. She kept giving me looks like trying to guess what I am. I tried avoiding that.

"These look good. Good work Ashni." He said. I smiled and was about to thank him, when he interrupted me.

"Ashni, nice name. Why not Dr. Ashni.? Are you both friends or something else?" She said. Roshan was about to say something and this time I cut him off.

"Nothing of such sort. I am his intern that's it. Nothing else." I said, he looked at me with a serious stern. And I returned the same. And I think he got why I am mad right now.

"Ashni. I am really sorry for this morning..." He said and continuing. But

"For this morning? What happened?" She asked again.

"Because he wanted to host you so he gave me all the work. That's why." I said, she nodded but Roshan was confused. I didn't want her to know that he ditched me for her. That will definitely increase her pride, and I didn't want that.

He slowly handed me the files once he signed. I took the files and was about to leave.

"Roshan, let's get back together." She said. And it broke my heart into million pieces. And before he answered, I left the cabin. Because I didn't want to know his answer.

I wanted to cry but I held myself together. And continued my work. It was soon lunch time. But I didn't want to have anything.

"Dr. Ashni, let's go and have lunch." Dr. Priyam said.

"No. I am not hungry." I said.

"No excuses. Let's go. Everyone is waiting for you in the cafeteria. Let's go." He said and dragged me out.

I went and sat out silently with the group.

"I got your favourite food." Ahana gave me.

"Don't worry. May be there is nothing going to happen between them." Icha said.

"She asked him to get back together." I said.

"Oohhh...nooo..." Dr. Priyam said.

"Will they get back together?" I asked him.

He looked at me with a question mark face whether to answer it or not.

"Maybe... Maybe not.." he said.

"Argh...." I expressed and continued to eat.

"Ashni, let's go out for dinner to your favourite place. You will feel good. It's my treat." Ahana said. I smiled at her, she knows me well now.

"Sure. Thanks." I said.

With that we started to eat and everyone started to pick a random topic to ensure that my mind doesn't go back to thinking about Roshan. And I should be grateful for these people.

Once finishing up the lunch, I went back to duty. It hurts to know that mostly he will get back to her. But again, it's not like we were relationship, we never claimed eachother. So I have no right on him. It's his life, he can do anything what makes him happy. All these thoughts were in mind so while I continued to work. In between Roshan came for rounds in my ward. A smile creeped on my face but it soon faded when I saw her behind him. What is this? Will she not even let him work now? I went back to checking my patients.

"Dr. Ashni, Can I have the status of the patients?" I heard suddenly. It was Roshan. I turned to him in shock, but started to give him detailed updates on the patients whom I was supervising.

"Okay. Ensure to give regular doses to Mr. Krishna and keep an eye on the heart rate of Mrs. Ramya....." He started to give further instructions. I kept listening to him and made notes.

What hurt here is that he didn't even look at me once throughout. So I am guessing, he accepted her proposal and are back together. And also if he rejected, she would have left hospital by now.

Okay Ashni. Focus. You have many other who love you. You will also find someone. Get over this guy. But his forehead kisses🥺. What are you thinking? Don't loose self-respect.

Once he gave instructions, I said okay and turned away.

"Roshan, I am so proud of you. You are such an amazing doctor, and she is lucky to have you as her mentor." That lady said. I didn't even look back even though what she said is true. I acted like I am busy and didn't hear them.

Dr. Lilly came in to talk to us.

"Dr. Roshan, Dr. Ashni, I came here to invite you both for dinner." She said. I smiled at her and asked.

"What's the occassion?" I asked her.

"My wedding has been fixed. I thought of introducing him to you all." She said. Oh wow,

"That's wonderful news. Congratulations." I said hugging her.

"Thank you. So can we go for dinner today?" She asked.

"Sorry, actually Roshan and I are going for dinner to celebrate that I am back. Is it okay if you all can plan it tomorrow?" That lady said.

My smile faded slowly. Celebrations. Wonderful. I have to start to ignore everything. And move on.

"Oh..." Dr. Lilly expressed.

"It's okay Dr. Lilly, let's meet tomorrow. We can plan it in a better way. Even I have plans Dr. Priyam and others." I said.

"Okay then I guess, it's better we plan it for weekend. Just two days away. But please keep your calendar free for weekend." She said, we nodded at with a smile.

Once she left, even I planned to leave to take a small break. I went towards to the rest room corner, but suddenly someone grabbed my hand and pinned me to the wall. I got scared and closed my eyes. When I opened, I was more shocked.

"What the hell?" He screamed but not to loud. Loud enough to scare me.

"Dr. Roshan, please leave me. You are hurting me." I said.

"What about the fact that you are hurting me by going out with my best friend." He said.

What? Is he jealous now? But why?

"Dr. Roshan, please leave.." I pushed him away.

"Go get your ears checked, I am not going out with him. I am going out with everyone. And secondly, why do you even care? Your girlfriend is back with you and you are going out with her. So don't point out me saying that I ditched you. You ditched me, this morning and in life too." I said and ran into washroom and started to cry. I cried for a while and then went out once I freshened up. He was gone by now. Thank god.

I went back to interns room and tried to lay down my head for a while. Suddenly someone tapped me. I got up freaking out.

"Hey why are you scared?" It was Ahana.

"I am sorry, I didn't know it was you." I said this and kept my head in my palms.

"What happened? Why do you look so dull? Did something happened between Dr. Roshan and you?" She asked. I cried again and told her everything that happened.

"Ashni, relax. Why are you thinking like that? May be he didn't accept his proposal. May be he loves you now. That's why he got jealous." She said. But I tried to reason with her saying that the lady is still with him and they have dinner plans.

"Ashni, few people may be a part of our past, but we can not cut them out of our life just like that. May be he rejected her. May be he is just treating her for dinner as a friend. They were best friends. So he can't send her away just like that." She explained.

That's true. That's possible. Why I kept thinking so negative about this situation.

"Just give it some time. Don't jump into any conclusions, till he confirms you or Dr. Priyam. Till then stop thinking negative and just keep calm." She said. True, let's not jump into conclusions. I will wait for proper confirmation that they are back together or not.

I hugged her and thanked her for calming me down. With all this confusion from morning, I wanted a proper break. I wanted to go out quickly and have proper dinner with all.

Soon it was dinner time. We all finished our duty and went out to leave for dinner. When I went out, I saw Roshan going with her in car. I kept looking at the car that is moving out. Then I felt that someone is dragging me, it was Icha.

"Girl, you have us. Let's go and have nice food and good time." She said. I smiled at her and we also started to leave. Ahana was about to get into our car.

"Ahana why don't you come with Dr. Priyam. Otherwise he will be alone." I said. I did this because I saw a spark between them. They looked at eachother.

"Ahh.. sure." She said.

"No no. That's all right." Priyam said.

"No, it's fine. I will come with you." She said.

"Great. It's settled. Let's go, I am hungry." I said. We all got into cars and left for our dinner.

We all reached my favourite restaurant and went inside.

While we all were walking in,

"You must be kidding me." Anrag said. I turned to him asking what happened. He pointed out to a table. Seriously now. It was Roshan and that girl. Now I can't have atleast dinner peacefully.

"Ashni, let's go to another restaurant." Priyam said.

"Wait guys. Why should we cancel our plans for them. Let's have a good time. I will be fine. Don't worry." I said and went to an empty table and then they followed me.

"Hey hi Priyam." That girl said once she saw him. He waved back at her. But Icha, Ahana and Anrag gave him death glare and immediately he went quite.

We all ordered and started to have fun chats and I tried to ignore them as much as possible.

"So what did you guys chat?" I asked Ahana.

"Nothing. General things." She said looking away.

"Oh okay." I said smoothly. Priyam kept smiling. Nice nice. I thought to myself. I too smiled.

Our food arrived soon and we started to eat, and we kept chatting. Especially Anrag and I kept embarassing each other with our childhood stories. And we were laughing.

Suddenly I saw her feeding food to him. That had to break my heart. I didn't like this now. I mean I didn't have to see that atleast. Upon watching that I realised that I have no future with him. I washed my hands and left from there.

"Guys, please let's go home. I am done now." I said and left. They were confused and kept calling. As I walked to parking area, I kept crying silently. I heard someone walking towards, it must be Anrag. They hugged me from behind. It was not Anrag. I freaked out and tried to free myself.

"Who is this? Leave me." I screamed.

They turned me around and closed my mouth. And our eyes met, it was Roshan.

"Just yesterday we went out. You already forgot my touch?" He said. I relaxed a bit. But still was trying to free myself.

"Let me go." I said.

"First answer my question." He said gripping me tightly.

"Leave me. Yes I don't remember and why should I? Your girlfriend is waiting for you inside. Go to her." I said.

"Who said she is my girlfriend?" He asked. I stopped at that statement. So they are not back together?

"Everyone at the hospital." I said.

"She is my past. Not my current or future." He said.

"But today she proposed to you right." I said remembering when she asked him to get back to him.

"So. Did I say yes? How do you know?" He asked.

"Whole day she was clinging on to you and now feeding food to you. So I thought you said yes." I said defending myself.

"She was my best friend. I can't cut her off like that. But wait a minute. Why are you jealous?" He asked. I didn't say anything.

"Nothing. I am not jealous." I said strongly, even though the truth is that I was.

"No no you are jealous. " He said and kept teasing me, till I burst out.

"Yes I am jealous. You said that I am special to you. Only I want to be special for you. No one else. I want to be the reason for your smile and happiness. I want to be the one who feeds you. I want to be the one whom you plan surprises for. I want to be the only girl in your life." I said.

"And why is that?" He asked.

"Because I love you, you idiot." I said slapping his hand.

"I love you too pagal." He said. What? He loves me? Really?

"Really? You love me?" I asked him.

"You want me to prove you now?" He asked and I nodded. With that he sealed our lips together. I was really shocked and my eyes went bigger. But soon I melted into his touch. I loved that moment very much. But suddenly he stopped and said sorry.

"Why?" I asked.

"You didn't like it right?" He said.

"Who said that?" I asked him.

"Well you didn't kiss me back. So I thought you didn't like it." He said. I hide my face in his chest with shyness.

"Well this is my first kiss, so I really don't know how it works." I said. He lifted my head and said.

"Really?" I nodded.

"Well don't worry. You will get used to it from now." He said. With that comment I smacked him and hugged him.

Yay. Finally he is mine.

"I love you" he said and kissed my forehead.

"I love you too" I told him. But in a second I remembered her.

"Wait a second, what about that friend of yours.?" I asked him.

"I am really sorry about that. She came back to town and wanted to me, in that hurry I couldn't inform you or pick you up. Sorry. And it is true that she proposed but I said no, because I love you now. And I told her that. After pur encounter at the washroom, I went to beat Priyam for taking my girl out. He told me how you are feeling about all this. So my bestie Nia suggested to prank you, and make you confess your love. And I liked the idea. So I went along." He explained.

"One second. So Priyam knows everything? And your friend planned this?" I asked. He nodded laughing at me.

I started to hit, but he soon caught hold me and gave me a tight hug.

"Sorry. But guys also dream that a beautiful girl should propose them first." He said. I smiled and hugged him back. We spent couple of minutes like that in a silent hug.

"Let's go inside. Everyone must be waiting for us." Saying this he took my hand and walked inside. I followed him with a smile.

As we entered the restaurant, they saw us and understood everything and started to congratulate us.

Everyone hugged us.

"Dr. Roshan. She is really precious to all of us. Especially to me, she is my bestie from childhood. You hurt her, you will face monster in me." Anrag warned him. And everyone said that they will join him, I laughed at that warning.

"Wait wait. He is also precious. Ashni, if you hurt him. Then you will not face any monster in me. You will meet evil in me, as I snatch him away from you. Remember" that Nia said. I was shocked. What? Is she serious now?

"Nia, stop it. Guys let's finish our dinner." Priyam said and went back to our table and continued to eat.

This is the best day of my life. Finally I found love of my life. I looked at Roshan smiling who is still holding my hand.💜

Once again I am really sorry for the delay. I have a lot of work in office and that got me delayed.
