I want to write a book about a padawan character who feels like her master abandoned her/doesn't believe she'll succeed and ends up running away. She then comes across Maul, who takes advantage of her anger and uses their similarities (both feel abandoned) to lead her to the Dark Side.

He does eventually come to care about her (kind of a father-daughter relationship) and he wants her to succeed so they both can prove those who hurt them wrong.
