I know I mentioned this a long time ago, but I'm bringing it up again because I forgot about it and I want to know if you guys would be interested in it.

Maul loses his memory somehow and is discovered by the Jedi. They decide to bring him back to Coruscant and keep him under surveillance until they figure out what to do with him. They don't know if his memory loss is temporary or permanent. As time goes on, pieces of his trauma and past memories resurface. He is confused and conflicted by them. He doesn't want to be the monster that he truly was, but he also wants to find his true self.

Some of the Jedi think they should take advantage of his confusion and convert him into a Jedi so he is not a threat, while others (like Ahsoka, Anakin, Obi-Wan, etc) think that he should be allowed to choose for himself (whether he wants to be a Jedi, Sith, or neither).
