Cas woke up the next morning immediately feeling cold without Dean's arms wrapped around him, he had woken up every morning like this for three months and he was scared to open his eyes because he didn't want the events of the past few days to have just been a dream. When he finally let himself open them he saw the motel room that Dean had booked and let out a small sigh of relief.

That relief quickly washed away though when he looked around and couldn't find his hunter anywhere, the bathroom door was open and the lights off, there was no one in the kitchen or on the other bed. He immediately started to panic and overthink, he had developed severe panic attacks even after getting his grace back because he lost the one person that could actually calm him down.

He started remembering the events of last night and that's when it hit him "yeah goodnight Cas" oh my god, Dean left him, he didn't love him anymore, he couldn't forgive him for making that deal and breaking his heart, last night was nothing more than a goodbye, maybe it was even less than a goodbye. He told himself that he didn't even deserve a goodbye, that Dean had just used him to relieve stress, that night probably meant nothing to Dean, he probably meant nothing to Dean now after what he did.

He was so busy overthinking and making up scenarios in his head to put himself down that he didn't even hear the door open, it wasn't until Dean was calling his name that he actually snapped out of it. He hadn't even realized that he was just standing in one place this entire time until now "Dean?" he asked, his voice broken and barely above a whisper. The man who was now right in front of him nodded "are you okay?" he asked worried while wiping tears off of the angel's face.

"I thought-" he paused to take a breath when Dean placed a hand on his cheek to comfort him "i thought you left" he just shook his head in response and pointed behind him to the bags on the table "i went to get us breakfast since neither of us ate anything yesterday, didn't you read my note?" he asked softly with a slight smile to calm Cas down but it wasn't working, he needed to ask a very important question and he didn't know how to tiptoe around it so he just accidentally blurted it out "Dean do you not love me anymore?"

Dean was slightly taken aback by the sudden and unexpected question "what?" he asked and tears started to run down Cas' face again "last night before we went to sleep i told you i loved you and you didn't say it back and then this morning you were gone so i didn't know what to think" he started "Cas" Dean tried but Cas was way too caught up in his own overthinking to actually listen "i know you rarely said it before we were together but when we were you mostly said it first every chance you got and no matter what whenever i said it you would always, always say it back. You always wanted to make sure i knew and last night you didn't say it back and i know, i know you need time because everything happened so quickly but i need to know if you actually still love me even though i wouldn't blame you if you didn't i did-"

Dean finally got his attention by connecting their lips, it was a short but passionate kiss but when he pulled away he sighed "of course i do Cas, i never stopped" he finally answered but still didn't actually say the words "but then why last night" Dean walked over to the bed and sat down on it, rubbing his hand over his face "last night when you said that it brought me straight back to the day where you told me you never loved me, that's all i could hear in that moment and i froze up. I couldn't let myself believe-" he cleared his throat

"I couldn't let myself hope that you meant it when for months i thought that it was all a lie" his own tears were now starting to drip from his face, he quickly wiped them away and looked down to not make eye contact with Cas. Suddenly he felt Cas' hand on his chin as he tilted his head up to look at him and he leaned down to kiss him deeply and lovingly, the angel sat on Dean's lap with his knees on either side of the hunter's thighs. They broke apart but kept their foreheads together and their eyes closed.

"No more lies" Dean whispered and Cas nodded before kissing him again with just as much passion, he pulled away again and whispered back "no more mistrust" they had no reason to whisper except for the fact that it jus felt right in the intimate situation. They kissed again before pulling away "just be honest" Dean continued. Another kiss but not as long as the previous ones "I love you Dean" another quick peck "I love you too Cas" he finally replied. They didn't go back in for another kiss, they just held each other and said nothing.

Dean moved Cas' head from his neck by tugging slightly on his hair and brought him back in for another kiss, both of them smiling as they pulled away "god i missed you" Dean said with a small laugh before kissing the angel again. The hunter pulled away again when he realized something, getting a small whine of disappointment from the angel still in his lap. He let out a small laugh and pecked his boyfriend's lips one more time, not being able to resist the adorable look on his face.

He was looking into Cas' eyes and suddenly got extremely nervous but he wasn't going to back down this was the perfect moment to do this, he let out a small breath before starting "Cas i need to show you something stand up for a second" he said softly, the angel just nodded with a slightly confused look on his face. When they stood up Dean had a huge smile on his face which made Cas' grow bigger, for a second neither of them said anything but then Dean took a deep breath and mumbled "here goes nothing" under his breath.

He reached his hands under the collar of his jacket that he had yet to take off and pulled a necklace over his head, it wasn't his typical necklace that Sam had given him but instead one with a silver chain. When the bottom of the necklace was revealed from behind Dean's shirt Cas let out a small gasp, there on the chain lay two plain silver wedding bands. Dean never had the heart to throw them away or sell them, he wanted to keep them close to his heart even after Cas left him.

He kissed Cas one more time before getting down on one knee, if he was gonna do this he was gonna make it as cliché as possible because that's just how Cas made him feel, he took one last deep breath "Cas a little over a year ago we went on a milk run case, just a few werewolves and i didn't think anything of it at first because there was nothing special about that case. Boy was i wrong, while i was stitching you up that night you called me out on my bullshit because of the way i was acting and then you told me that you were going to leave because you thought i hated you" He wiped a tear from his face and let out a small chuckle

"I don't know what came over me that night but just the thought of you leaving made me go crazy enough to actually tell you how i felt, that was one of-if not the best day of my life and it's been a roller coaster ever since. We've had a lot of highs and sadly a crap ton of scary drops but it's not really a good ride without a balance of both. Even if we can't be legally married i want to spend the rest of my life with you, i want to put this ring on you so that people know you're mine and i want to wear this one so people know I'm already taken by my soulmate, my best friend, the love of my life, my angel"

He took another deep breath as he slid one of the rings off the chain "I love you so much baby and i want to wake up every morning to see your face next to mine, i want go to sleep every night with knowing your safe in my arms. So i guess the question is, Cas will you marry me" they both had tears in their eyes but before Cas could give his answer the door opened "so get this-" Sam stopped dead in his tracks when he saw what was going on, Dean just dropped his head down and shook it in disappointment of his brother's crappy timing.

"I'll come back later" he said quickly before walking out and closing the door, not all the way of course because he wanted to see what was going to happen. Dean just looked back up at Cas "so?" he asked hopefully but still with a tiny bit of worry in his tone which was quickly wiped away when he saw the huge grin on his angel's face "of course I'll marry you, you idiot" he responded and Dean immediately got off the floor to kiss him.

After they slid their rings on they went in for another kiss only to be interrupted by the sound of a door opening before they were both tackled to the floor by a very excited moose. They all burst out into a fit of laughter and Dean stopped for a second and just smiled fondly, he had his dumbass brother who was finally happy with someone who he will probably marry soon as well and he finally had his angel back. He was marrying the love of his life, him and his brother had never been closer and his life was finally okay for once, he was finally happy for the first time in a long time and he didn't think it was going away anytime soon.
