Epilogue

For some people, one month didn't seem all that long to wait, but for Allie, it almost felt like an eternity before she could finally dawn her wedding dress. The dressing room for the bridesmaids was quite possibly the noisiest place in the palace. All of her bridesmaids were fixing themselves up, all the while chatting excitedly with each other. Meanwhile, in Allie's bedroom, Allie sat in her chair while her mother fussed over her hair and makeup. Allie felt her mother stop for a moment, prompting her to look over her shoulder to see what was the matter.

"Is something wrong mother?" Allie inquired, her eyes widening with concern as she saw that Adelaide was starting to tear up.

"I'm... I'm okay sweetie. I'm just happy that's all," she said with a bright smile, wiping the tears from her eyes so she could continue. "We've dreamed of this day since you were little and to see it actually happening-well... you know what I'm trying to say. Your father and I are very happy for you both."

Allie smiled up at her mother and closed her eyes as Adelaide continued with her hair.

"I know you are mother. The both of you were so excited that you sent word all over the place. Some of my friends from Hoenn, Unova and Sinnoh are here. Honestly I hadn't expected any of that. I thought it was just going to be local. It's a good thing our garden is so big huh?" Allie laughed.

Adelaide grinned and stepped back to look at her finished work. Satisfied with the end result, and the ear to ear grin Allie was giving her after seeing herself in the mirror, the queen stepped away to check in on the bridesmaids as they were getting ready. As she opened the door, she was greeted by the sound of loud, excited laughter.

"Just checking in ladies, we've got about an hour or so until everything begins," Adelaide informed them.

"Thank you for letting us know your majesty," said Mathilde from across the room.

Adelaide smiled upon seeing Seth's instructor all dressed up. Adelaide had attended her wedding, along with Allie and Seth, not long after the Lumiose Conference had ended. Allie had asked her to be a bridesmaid in her wedding not long after. Mathilde had gladly accepted the opportunity which made Allie extremely happy.

"Thank you for accepting my daughter's invitation. I was surprised when she asked you to be a bridesmaid, but then again... I really should have expected that given how persistant she can be. By the way... she isn't aware of it yet but there are a few surprise guests here today who flew in from abroad. I told her that some of her friends came, which is true, but I didn't tell her of the others. I wanted that part to be a surprise," Adelaide said with a wink.

"Guests from abroad you say? You can't mean-you sly Delphox," Mathilde said smirking. "I can't say I'm not excited hearing that. If they're who I think they are then she's going to have a field day."

Adelaide whistled innocently and moved over to the door that seperated her from Allie's dressing room. "Anyway, I've got to get back in there. I can see you're all still finishing up so I'll leave you to it," she finished before sliding back into Allie's room.

"Sounds like they're having a blast in there," Allie giggled as her mother came back over to continue working on Allie's makeup.

"They're all very excited about this. Morgan and her sisters are nearly ready seeing as they got here a few hours before everyone else and Serena, Melody and Shauna are still getting their hair in order. Mathilde, unsurprisingly, is finished and just waiting on the others. I swear that woman is a magician when it comes to this. I never could figure out how she gets ready so fast," Adelaide muttered as she set to work on Allie's face.

Seth took a deep breath as he looked at himself in the mirror. The attire he was wearing was wearing was given to him by Mathilde herself as a gift. She'd begun crafting it since he became eighteen and had planned it to be a gift for him for being her student for so long. On the left sleeve it bore the crest of Seth's family, a Pyroar, while the back held one of the Steel Hand, which was an Aegislash, a similar design to Mathilde's own garments. It was completely white with lavender trimmings. The bottom of the coat reached his ankles. His boots were black to match the gloves he wore, and at his waist rested his sword.

"You know, I don't think I could picture you wearing anything else but that," Jamie said as he placed an arm over Seth's shoulder and looked in the mirror. "Look at us, being all grown up and stuff. Seems like just yesterday we graduated from the academy and now you're getting married to a princess. Of course I'm dating a princess as well but... I'm not sure if she's too keen on me calling her that," Jamie laughed.

"It's funny... if someone had told me last year, around this time, that I'd be marrying the princess of Kalos, I'd have told them they were nuts. To think that none of this would have happened if Allie hadn't taken a tumble from that balcony. I guess the powers that be saw fit to meddle in my life and bring us together, though they sure chose the strangest way to do it."

"I couldn't have said it any better. Fate just works like that sometimes. But hey, if it means things end up like this, it can do whatever it wants," Jamie said grinning as he turned his head over his shoulder to see how Trevor and Tierno were doing. "How are you two doing?" He asked, arching a brow as he watched Trevor struggle with his tie.

Shaking his head, he made his way over to the fussing ginger and fixed it for him while adjusting his collar. Looking over at Tierno, he could see that the big guy was already ready to go. Hearing the sound of his holocaster going off, Jamie turned around and picked it up off the table beside him and answered it. It was Melody. Jamie blinked as he saw Melody's hologram appear in front of him.

"What's the matter Jamie? Glameow got your tongue?" Melody teased.

"You might say that," Jamie replied with a nervous laugh as he adjusted his tie. "You look... wow..." Jamie added.

"Th-Thank you!" Melody said happily, her face tinting a bright pink at the compliment. "You look handsome yourself. Is my big brother there?"

"Yeah, he's here. Did you need to talk to him?" Jamie inquired, wondering why she didn't just call Seth instead.

"Of course! I just wanted to see your goofy face first before I talked to him. Can you put him on for me?"

"Hi sis," Seth interjected, sliding into the conversation after taking a seat. "What's up?"

"Oh. My. Arceus! That outfit looks amazing! You look like an actual prince! I mean, Mathilde told me you'd be wearing something but this looks just like what dad wore when he and mom got married. I guess she made you one figuring you couldn't fit in dad's," Melody giggled. "You look so friggen cool!"

"Thanks sis, you look beautiful too. And I can only imagine what Allie-"

"Nope! Nuh-uh! I know what you're going to do mister and you can forget it. You'll see her in twenty minutes so you'll just have to wait," Melody cut him off.

"Alright, alright, take it easy Melody," Seth laughed. "How're the others? It must be crowded in there."

"Oh! Everyone's really excited. Mathilde's here too and she's helping some of the others with their hair and stuff. We're all pretty much done and ready to roll. The queen said Allie's nearly finished as well," Melody added, twirling a lock of hair with her fingers.

"That's good to know. Mom and dad stopped by earlier, did they come see you too?" Seth asked, getting a nod from his sister.

"Yep! They're in the front row! Oh, and get this, apparently some pretty important people are coming in from all over! I heard the queen talking about some friends of Allie's coming from Hoenn, Sinnoh and Unova! I wonder who they could be," Melody thought, tapping her chin as she pondered the identity of the guests. "I guess we'll find out when we get-oh! Gotta go bro, see you out there, love ya, bye!" Melody said as she hastily ended the call.

"Well... it is a royal wedding after all. I guess we can't be too surprised that there are going to be people from other regions attending. I'm kind of curious about who they could be too," Jamie admitted, stroking his chin.

Minutes passed and soon the time came for them all to head outside into the garden.

The garden was teeming with life as wedding guests chatted amongst each other while Seth and the groomsmen came out. As Seth walked down the aisle to his position, he took the time to look around, his eyes popping in astonishment as he caught sight of several distinguished guests. Seated in the middle row was a man with ice blue hair and sky blue eyes. His attire consisted of a black vest and pants. His dress shirt was gray and the tie about his neck was a mixture of dark and light gray as well. Over his shoulders, he bore a cape that resembled the plates on an Aggron. Surrounding him were several admirers and fans, each looking to obtain an autograph or even shake the man's hand. Seth heard several of them asking to see Meteor, which Seth could only assume was his famed Metagross.

Across from him was yet another very well known and powerful figure. Although she was dressed in more formal wear, there was no hiding those piercing gray eyes. Similiar to her usual attire, Cynthia wore a more formal, sleeveless dress that accented her figure. She wore earrings that bore the same pattern as her usual hair clips. Around her neck was a peculiar necklace with a gear-shaped pendant which she held in her hand, smiling as she looked down at it as though it were her most valuable treasure. Several others were also pointing her out, while a few brave souls approached her to strike up a conversation with the Sinnoh champion. He even spotted Felicity, who was a huge fan of both champions, having a slight existential crises as to who to speak with first.

Looking farther down the rows, Seth could see yet another prominent figure. She was usually featured on magazine covers, sometimes alongside Kalos's very own Valerie. Her fashion expertise as well as knowledge on Electric-types was well known. In the academy, she was the most popular gym leader to study when it came to Electric-types. Along with these three, Diantha also stood among the guests after receiving an invite from Adelaide. As he finally reached the decorated archway in front of the fountain, he turned to look down the aisle and for the first time, he could see just how many people had turned up for the event.

His parents were seated in the front along with his school teacher, Mrs. Rosseau, and her husband. As Jamie stood beside him, the procession began. In came the bridesmaids along with Tierno and Trevor who escorted Shauna and Serena to their places before heading over to their own. Coming in behind them was Seth's Pyroar who had a pillow bearing the rings, strapped to her back while she walked. As soon Pyroar made it to her position, the music began and everyone's head turned toward the back to see the king and Allie side by side at the back of the walkway. As they started walking, everyone rose to a stand.

Seth became slightly slack-jawed the moment he laid eyes on his bride. Beautiful just wasn't a sufficient enough word to describe what he was seeing. Her curly crimson locks fell down in waves, kissing her shoulders and spilling over her back. Her dress was white with gold trimming around the bust. In the center of her chest was a hexagon-shaped adornment with a keyhole in the middle of it. The veil on her head bore a gold-trimmed, leaf-shaped ornament with several blue gems inside. She wore golden bracelets around her wrists and in her hands was a boquet of white and pink flowers that the garden Floette helped assemble.

As she walked beside her father, Allie kept her eyes focused on Seth, all the while admiring just how handsome he looked. She had seen him in a suit, but nothing compared to what she was seeing as she strode toward him one step at a time. Every step she took brought her closer to her future. Her heart raced as she held Seth's gaze, unable to take her eyes away from his. It was those eyes that calmed the storm of nervousness that had been welling up inside of her prior to starting down the aisle. As they reached the archway, the king handed her off to Seth who took her by the hand and faced her.

"Dearly beloved," the minister began, "today we are gathered to witness the joining of two souls whose meeting, from my understanding, was nothing short of providential... miraculous even!" He continued as he looked out at the guests. "Never in all my years of doing this have I heard a story as inspiring as this. Words alone won't do their story justice, and with that being said, we will hear the story directly from them as they share their vows to each other! Will the bride please share her vows?"

Allie took a deep breath and met Seth's gaze with the same determination she'd shown during their match at the conference. She had spent night after night rehersing what she would say and after several revisions and practices, she concluded one thing. She didn't need to say much, or make some eloquent speech to proclaim her love. All she needed to do was speak what was on her heart. She loved Seth, and knowing that, was all she needed in that moment.

"Seth Da Silva... my dear Pauper... I have dreamed of this very moment for the past month, and no matter how many times I played this scene in my head, I always found myself unable to adequately express how I felt. Maybe it was the stress of trying to come up with the perfect choice of words. Maybe it was my desire to make absolutely certain that you knew just how real my love was for you. But I realized something during all of that fussing, and it's that I don't need to come up with the perfect thing to say. Our battle spoke in volumes of the love I have for you, and that same passion that I put into that will I put into our life together from this day on. I love you Seth, and as long as there is still breath in my lungs and blood coursing through my veins, I will never stop loving you!" Allie said, her voice catching slightly before she regained her composure.

Seth swallowed the lump in his throat as his eyes began to water a little. Blinking back the tears that threatened to spill, he breathed in, closing his eyes for a moment before looking back into her bright pink eyes. Even the minister was wiping his eyes before gesturing to Seth. "And now... will the groom please share his vows?"

"Allie... before you, my plans for life were simple, until you literally fell into it and complicated everything with your obnoxious attitude, quick wit and otherworldly beauty. In an instant, all of my best laid plans were derailed, and before I knew it my life was steered off course into uncharted waters. I wasn't ready for any of what was to come, and I certainly wasn't prepared to fall in love with you. But every day that went by, every moment I spent with you, yes... even during the times when we were seemingly at odds, I found myself wanting to get closer to you, and know more of what goes on inside that beautiful mind of yours. I know it's probably going to take a lifetime to fully understand how all of this works, but I won't have to worry about that much since I'm giving you my lifetime right here and now. I guess what I'm trying to say... is that I love you Allie, and I always will, come what may, good days or bad, I will love you no matter what comes our way..."

By this time, Allie couldn't keep herself from letting the tears spill from her eyes. "You know... for being someone who's not so good with words, you sure do know what to say to make a woman feel special," Allie sniffled while blinking back her tears.

The minister cleared his throat as Seth finished and looked between the two, ready to continue with the ceremony.

"Do you have the rings?" He asked, looking over to Pyroar who moved up beside Seth so that they could grab the rings from the cushion on her back.

Turning to Seth he said, "Do you, Seth Da Silva, take Princess Allie to be your lawfully wedded wife, to love her unconditionally, honor her respectfully, and cherish her like the treasure that she is until death do you part?"

"I do," Seth replied without hesitation as he placed the ring onto her finger.

"And do you, Princess Allie, take Seth Da Silva to be your lawfully wedded husband, and to also love him unconditionally, honor respectfully and cherish like the treasure he is until death do you part?"

"I do!" Allie responded happily, taking the ring and placing it on Seth's finger.

"Then by the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife! You may kiss the bride!"

Seth reached out and lifted the veil from her eyes and drew her in close to him and closed the distance between them. The moment she felt his lips meet hers, she threw her arms around his neck and deepened the kiss as everyone rose to a stand and began clapping for them. After a while, Allie finally pulled back and pressed her forehead to Seth's, laughing a little as she looked into the eyes of her husband.

"So... does this make me a prince?" Seth asked as he kept his arms around her waist.

"No, but it does make me a pauper," Allie said with a playful grin as she swooped in for another kiss, unable to help herself.

Allie pulled away again as she saw some of the female guests gathering together while looking at Allie expectantly. Looking down at her boquet, she smiled and turned around before hurling it over her head at the gathering of women behind her. Seth watched as the boquet fell... right into the arms of Melody.

The sun soon set on the day, and Seth and Allie retired to Allie's bedroom where the sounds of a crying infant would soon be heard nine months from then...
